Hey Guys!I have no experience in automation. I want to apply for a job that requires IaC. That's all that I know. I don't know what kind of IaC they are talking about. It's a large enterprise environment.  What are your CommVault IaC solutions? There are different solutions, like Ansible. What is supported by CommVault, or what solution works best for you? I know you can save as script, write qcommand scripts, using the Powershell cmdlet, but what is more common nowadays?  What are the benefits of your IaC solutions, why did you implement it, what are the best use cases, and why was it your best decision, otherwise, what do you dislike, and what are some downsides? What kind of automation does not work with CommVault but would be great, what are some features which are you waiting for? Thank you a lot! Kr

Hello, we would like to tier out the data, wich is stored on the disk library to an Huawei Object Storage. I created a secoundary copy and configured an aux copy schedule. The problem is that the disk library disc space is running low because the job is not as fast as I was hoping.The amount of data for the copy job can be up to 10 TB.Is there a solution to speed up the aux copy job ? The Media Agents provide 2x10 Gbit cards.RegardsThomas

Dear All ,i need some clarification on the below , we have depoloyed hyperscal x nodes and started backup activities , we would like to harden the security , we are planning to perform the following ,1> Enabling ransdomware protection on hyperscale nodes2> currently encryptions are not set global ddb or storage polocy ,storage pool or client side , i would like to where we is it better to enable the encrpytion3> enabling retention lock or WORM  - best practices to achieve immutability 4> disabling root account access since the backup operation already started to hyperscale x cluster ,above activities affect the operations ?is there anything to be taken care before performing this , also do we have any evidence to show  that the backed up data are write protected and wont be able to modified

Hello Community our DBA is requesting assistance in retrieving the MSSQL LSN number from the Commvault log.For this MSSQL AG (Availability Group) backup, I accessed the active node during the backup process and examined the sqlida.log file. However, despite increasing the SQLIDA debug level to 10, the LSN information does not appear to be present in the log. Just discovered that the LSN information can be found in the sqlbackup.log file only. However, I'm curious as to why certain SQL servers have both the sqlbackup module and the sqldia module, while others only have the sqldia module.

Hello,I have an issue that all browse for vmware VMs are failed - with error - “live browse enumeration failed”I can see that there is a mount in the MA folder for mounts (\installfolder\pseudomount\persistent\pseudodevices\I try to reboot the cmmvault services on the MA and also to reboot the server - the mount does not get releasedcan I manually delete it?  Best regards

Hello, i have a project that a client will deploy HSX RA on Hpe proLient DL360 in the environment. i have never implemented HSX Before.and i have checked the documentation for  the RA installation and network configuration. https://documentation.commvault.com/v11/essential/154258_setting_up_installation_media_for_hyperscale_x_reference_architecture.htmlmy question is is there’s a guild explains step by step the installation starting from configuring the servers, and the HSX imaging ?my blind step is how the image will be installed?dhcp is not enabled.documentation says that u’ll use a windows machine that can connect to the nodes and download the iso from the store then mount the image and start the installation.1 - do i need to mount the iso on each node from the ILO ?2- how the nodes can communicate during the installation as when you start configuring the first node it searchs for the other nodes.

I want to explain a problem we have:Hardware WORM was active on all of our disk libraries. We are not aware of having activated this functionality and as support indicated, there is no trace that we have executed a workflow to activate it.Despite that, the WORM functionality was not active in any of our Storage Policies, only at the disk library level. We could change the retention of our copies, delete backups, micro-prunning working, and our databases were NEVER sealed. We updated version 11.28 to 11.30 and suddenly the “WORM Storage” feature is activated in ALL storage policies at storage pool level.As per the below document, this changes are applied on SP30 onwards, if hardware WORM is enabled:https://documentation.commvault.com/2023/essential/149133_changes_in_commvault_platform_release_2023.html Now we cannot delete backups, nor change the retention of our copies and ALL databases will be sealed every X days, micro-prunning disable. Hello, I have a fresh installation of Commvault version 11.28.56. I am attempting to connect to our vCenter instance through the Command Center GUI. After putting in the information to ‘Add Hypervisor’ I receive a ‘Request body is empty or format is invalid.’ error. It should work, but it is not really documentated and I am concerned about performance, stability and functionality. Hi All, We have Linux cluster with shared disks. Both servers are resides on a VMWare environment. Due to a VMWare issue we cannot take snapshot of the vms. Now we want to backup these VMs from commvault. We are currently takin backups from few file systems on these VMs.I tried to enable 1-Touch recovery and initiate a full backup. Backup fails on “Backup” phase showing following error. +++++++++++++++++++Enor Code: [82: 172]Description: Could not connect to the DeDuplication Database process for Store ld[33].+++++++++++++++++++ This mentioned DeDuplication Database is online and shows no errors. When removed 1-Touch backup is running smoothly.

Just few questions ,we are having hyperscale x nodes , we have standard storage policy - primary copies - are the backup data in this are WORM by default ? can it be modified ? also what about immutability , do we need to perform Enable Retention Lock Workflow. to achieve immutability ??if we have storage policy encryption , do we need to do Software Encryption on HyperScale Storage

Drop the existing clustered index 'JMJobOptions_jobId_commCellId_attributeId_idx' before creating anotherour commserv is a Microsoft Server 2022, SQL version 2019.Does anybody has already met with a similar issue?
