Dear Team,We have configured two node Windows Failover File level backup. There are 8 Cluster disks and we want file level backup in all the cluster disks.We installed File system agent in both nodes and then the backup job was configured under the Failober cluster client.Now we are facing the issue that the cluster disk is showing only Cluster Owner node only, if the cluster disk will move to another node that disk is not showing under the Windows cluster client. The backup job is showing failed due to disk path is not available.Please advise.

Hi All,We are Planning to do a domain name change on our Commserve and wanted to know how much time it may take to perform the commserve name change on all the clients after the commserve hostname name is changed.According to below documentation it says it will take about between 20-30 seconds for each client depending on if client is online or offline, we have like 2000+ clients on which agents are installed. will it really take like 5-10 hours to perform the Commserve name change on these clients? or will it do it in parallel on all the clients and should be done in 30 mins to 1 hour?https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/7031_changing_commserve_name_for_clients_after_restoring_database.htmlAny advise here is appreciated!Thanks.V

Dear All, Due to an urgent requirement, we restored the Hyper-V VMs ULCSLINVDBP1 and ULSLCINVAPP1 to another  hyper v host(EH07HYP host). Both restorations were successful. But ULSLCINVDBP1 was accessible and ULSLCINVAPP1 was not accessible.What could be reason for this kind of situation,Is it because of any faulty in backup? 

Hello Guys, The Company’s board requested a backup execution report since the month of January. I tried to run report, as shown in the images below. I put Range Time from January To May, but the report only backs from March to the current date Is there a way to run this report as the backup run since January?   

We have numerous search engines and nodes that are Windows 2012 R2.  These nodes are no longer actively indexing data, but are being kept to allow searches.  We would like to update to a newer version of Windows.I found the P2VCiIndexMove workflow to perform a hardware refresh, but have a couple questions.Will this workflow work in V11.28 (2022E)? Is it possible to refresh the hardware and re-attach the disk that contains the index?

Good morning,I manage a DBA team and we’ve only been granted access to the command center.  Our storage admins don’t want to give us access to the java console out of security concerns.  My understanding is that the java console doesn’t grant us *any* additional permissions, but does provide some advanced functionality that would be very useful to us.Have any of you ran into this?  Do other DBA/Apps/etc teams have access to the command center GUI and the java console?  We have MS SQL, Oracle, Postgres and Mariadb here.Thanks! 

When working in Job Controller in the Commcell console, the horizontal scrollbar is jerking left and right every few seconds.If I adjust the columns until the scrollbar disappears, then of course I do not see the issue, but I can’t work like that.I have tried on different computers, switched between oracle java and openjdk java, but it seems to happen everywhere.Is this a known issue? 11.28.48

Good MorningWe are in the investigation stage for backing up M365/O365 into our existing Commvault on premises environment.I’ve read through CommVault Doc (Applications -> Office 365 -> Exchange Online) but still have a lot of questions. First, is there a diagram out there that shows the architecture of M365 backup to on-prem? A picture is worth 1,000 words. This is my basic understanding, but a real diagram would be helpful: M365- > Access Nodes -> Media Agents -> Storage Second, is there a particular CommVault version that we should be on? “Get on the latest version” isn’t necessarily a good answer. What version has features, improvement, bug fixes, performance that I should be aware of? Targeting LTS releases only (ie 20, 24, or 28). Third, how integral is Content Indexing? Hi AlllI’ve got a couple of indexing clients that were created as part of the configuration of O365 backup for Exchange and Teams. But the “No backup for last X days” alert is complaining because they haven’t been backed up. The question is, do they need to be backed up, or should I clear the “Enable Backup” flag on Activity Control ?As I understand it, the SOLR indexes (for exchange at least) are forever incremental, and if damaged, will rebuild from scratch. But if they’re backed up, does that get circumvented and is the restore performed or the rebuild ? Thanks for the inputSimon

how to apply/change the permission for ORASBT.log under Log_Files/ directorycurrent this file has got 777 permission, however as per this KBhttps://kb.commvault.com/article/54238 its mentioned that required File permission is 660No i tried to change the file permission to 660 for ORASBT log and did a cvpkgchgbut cvpkgchg is not getting completed rather it just exists the installation UI right after user group permissions page,and the file permission is reverting to 777/ 775 permission once a backup/restore is initiated on that client. How do we change the permission back to 660.

Good afternoon.I am reaching out to you for your valuable help in resolving an issue that I am facing with the hypervisor integrated into Commvault, specifically in the configuration of FREL in an OracleVM environment.In this regard, I have been able to perform backups of the virtual machines, but I have not been able to carry out granular restoration of the same. I have reviewed several sources of documentation and specialized forums, however, I have not been able to find detailed information about the appropriate configuration of FREL for this type of environment (OracleVM).Therefore, I request your collaboration to guide me in the process of configuring FREL, taking into account that it is an OracleVM environment.I appreciate your prompt response and support in solving this issue.🙏
