Hello, I am planning to upgrade commvault to SP11.26.8 from SP11.25.44. I want to ask or if there some known issuses in SP 11.26.38. I sow the Maintenance release documentation but there is nothing special for us. But i wanted to ask anyways.

Hello all,as far as I remember, there was an additional setting to avoid the error “Not Run because of another job running for the same subclient” and “An Auxiliary Copy operation is already running for Storage Policy” in reports. Does the settings still exisit? Thank you.

Hello guys,is there a method, that allows me to rename the CommServe’s client name ?in previous Version (<SP16), I was able to do this during a DR Recovery. But this option seems to be removed from CSRecoveryAssistent.I now can modify the displayName instead, but most of the reports, as well as the MetricsServer, are still pointing to the clientName, which can be slightly confusing.I moved the CommServe to a different Domain, and the ClientName was matching the HostName, which is the FQDN of the CommServe.I’m using currently using FR22 for this environment.any hints wellcomeKlaus

Hi All,I have build the License Server in the Azure recently with single cloud storage, its protect by DR backup. There is no deticated MA or VSA.My License Server/SQL was completely hardened and had lot of customization. So, rebuild the new Server with DR backup will be a tedious job during recovery process.Is there any other way to protect the VM and create a seamless recovery process?Is it make sense or works if I configure the CS as MA/VSA to backup same CS? TIA,Mani

Hello, I hope you are doing well.I need your valuable help.What should I do so that commvault only backs up the files in the root directory of a linux machine (HP-UX)?Example: in other backup software when using "/" it only recognizes that it is only for backing up the root directory, in commvault it backs up the whole machine, including files that are not necessary. thank you very much. :)

Can I restore Active Directory from a snapshot of a virtual machine?Active Directory is a virtual machine. I have doubt if the restore of Sysvol, will restore fully.

Hey all,I am looking at configuring Periodic Classic Replication for some VM’s running on VMware Vcenter 7.0.2.  Essentially I would like to run a replication job post backup from Cluster A to Cluster B in different locations.When Configuring through Command Center, selecting the VCenter and then selecting  ‘Actions’ on the VM Group and clicking ‘Configure Replication’ it takes me to the ‘Configure replication group’ page that states ‘There are no virtual machines available for replication. Please select another hypervisor or VM group.’I am unable to select any VM’s to add at this point.  The VM’s in this group are:Backed up and in schedule The VM Group uses a Tag in VMware to flag it for backup in the subclient The Destination is another cluster (in another site) in the same VCenter (though not got as far as selecting a destination) Streaming backups used for Primary Backup (No Hardware Snap) Version is 11.25.19 Both Clusters have access to backup data MA and Storage VCenter is online

Background: We have added new storage arrays and are trying to clean up all the commvault data of the old ones. I know you can choose a mount point and ‘delete all data” but I would rather not force delete things this way if not necessary.  I would like to get a process in place where our subclients clean up data properly (or at least on purpose, as we want it to occur) as it appears we have quite a few subclients with incremental backups that the system will not auto clean up because they (per Data Forecast and Compliance Report) are not being cleaned up due to BASIC_CYCLES. Per my understanding, these are sticking around because the client was shut down before we could get another last “Full” backup (or similar, some of the subclients were descheduled or disabled, both of which are not allowing some cleanup to occur). In some cases we have some of these incremental backups only on primary storage ,some on primary and secondary, and some on both + tapes.Some of these subclients are pa

Hello,I have tried to backup file server with block level option enabled.For each volume i have made subclient. Backup of the volume D seems OK.For the volume E. I have selected only 2 folders. Backup job has failed with error:Error Code: [57:327] Description: Found folder as content of subclient, which is not allowed for block level backups, Content [E:\0D\].I have dug into the logs and found the error:“CsFileSystemSnapshotBlockLevelBackup::AdjustBackupContentFromSnapshotContent(518) - Not adding [E:\] to snap content as corresponding Volume GUID [\\?\Volume{c6de5c3f-0367-4763-9870-c5af793ad98e}\] is already present in snap content” Any suggestions? Thank you in advance!

I'm trying to automate certain tasks by querying the APIs. I first tried the newly released Powershell SDK which turned out to be broken right now. Now, I would like to move a step further and make my own API Calls with the Invoke-RestMethod in PowerShell but I am having a hard time to get started (disclaimer: I have a backgrouind as a sysadmin, not a web developper). Hello, We have configured IntelliSnap and backup copy for a VM group, with the original snap residing in NetApp for 7 days/1 cycle and the backup copies residing in HyperScale for 30 days. The job is scheduled to run Daily incremental and weekly synthetic full. The incremental snapshots are being retained endlessly, as the retention is set to 7days/1 cycle and the volume is filling up. Now my questions:I understand that every snapshot created in Netapp is a full as it takes a snapshot of the active file system and marks all the active blocks at the time of the snapshot as read-only so that those blocks cannot be overwritten, so can I reset the snapshot retention to 7 days/0 cycle with the expectation that we will be able to restore the entire VM despite the base full Snapshot being aged off?I have seen intelli snapshot jobs fail owing to an existing backup copy job. Can we execute snapcopy jobs in parallel with backup copy jobs if the previous backup copy operations are delayed?The cus

Hello,I’m new to commvault so sorry if my question seems pretty ignorant. But we have Email Journaling/eDiscovery - but i’d like to move it to another media agent. I’s like to keep the index server and everything else in place..but just change the storage policy to point to a new media agent.Would it be best to just create a new storage policy and assign the media agent to the new policy or is there a way to just change the media agent on the ediscovery job?Thank you

Looking to start a replication group from a VM and default backupset to a mount path on a dell powerscale. Going forward this volume will be san hosted instead of mounted via a server. Upon looking at the config- i dont see an option. Im away replication groups are agent to agent. I thought about makign a library with the location- but even that doenst allow.

Hi,I’m working with a customer that has an azure policy set that enforces all resources created has a set of custom tags during creation. This stops the VSA of creating a snapshot as expected.Cannot see anything from the documentation on this, but are the Commvault backup process able to set a set of custom tags on the snapshot during backup? Or would they require to disable this policy for snapshots?  

Hello Community, We had some problem with one proxy server and we decided to create a new one in AZURE. Unfortunetly backup on new proxy server is not working for part of VM and backup doesn’t migrate the data after creation snapshot, but for another part machines VM backup is working well without any issue.The machines are in the same subscriptions. We checked almost everything and nothing helped. The case in Commvault MA is opened, but support is not so helpful and clamed that issue is on Microsoft site, but they didn’t recognize where the issue is. In log  file only appears: “17 12:37:02 4409694 VSBkpCoordinator::OnIdle_Running() - Waiting for [1] VMs to be processed. [WFRPARESB019]”and“Failed to get page ranges for the entire blob. Hi,I want to set a storage policy (a plan actually) for Oracle backups. The only thing is customer wants to just provide storage target for RMAN backups but leave actual backup administration in hands of Oracle admins. Oracle team won’t have access to Commvault console, so they need to manage backups with the only tool they know and got which is RMAN. Everything is set, we got plan in place, activity on default and archivelog subclients is disabled, so Commvault won’t run any backups (a plan without scheduler would be nice!), we did some tests and backups work like a charm and the only missing part is data aging. For this setup to work nicely and to give Oracle team what’s theirs I also need to allow them to prune old backups using RMAN so I could set infinite retention on Commvault side (currently it’s 14 days). I’ve set DisableRMANPruning to 0 on Commserve computer and crossed my fingers but unfortunately it is not enough. After running a couple of backups using RMAN command line we

Hi, We recently had a customer who tried to connect kubernetes with commvault while using rancher.Everything was configurated and implemented correctly, but the authentication of the account used failed and we cannot seem to find why.We double checked the permissions, groups and authentication token of the user. Everything should be working.What could cause this problem?
