Hi,we have a unix (ubuntu linux) cluster and installed commvault on all three nodes. After that I created a “unix cluster” with there three nodes with the virtual cluster IP.I could do a backup for the cluster filesystem, but after a failover of the cluster filesystem to another cluster node, the backup failed. It still tries the backup on the previous node. So I think the local commvault agents didn’t notice the node change. Is there any chance to trigger the node change to the commvault agent?As a workaround, I restarted the commvault agent locally, but a solution for running services would be better.Thanks,Janko

We had to move the VSA backups to the second data center because the backup storage in the first data center filled up and we can't delete any data. Since this has been moved, the whole thing has been running very slowly. Transport Mode is still SAN but it only backs up one VM instead of 15 at a time.You can clearly see the throughput between SP_Alsterdorf_Standard and the change to SP_Norderstedt_StandardBoth media agents are set up so that both can access the backup storage and the production storage. Does anyone here have a quick solution to this problem? Kind RegardsThomas

Is it possible to configure Universal Command Center when commcells are configured to use RADIUS and external two factor authentication?  It appears to me this is not supported.

Hello,we are currently evaluating our options for a customer who wants to replicate his VMware VMs offsite.vCloud Director (vCD) is supported as a LiveSync target and OVH SDDC cloud offering seems based on vCD ; but then other things could keep the replication for working, for instance :OVH not exposing the required vCD API to its tenants OVH not giving enough permissions to its tenantsDoes anyone here knows if it can be done ? Thanks !

When checking the capacity of the backup data, I want to check the capacity by filtering the modified date of the file or the date it was created.(e.g. 2018.01.01 to 2020.12.31)(When filtering from Browse and restore, the list of files is displayed as set by filtering, but the total capacity is not displayed correctly.)Does Commvault support this feature?The version is V11 SP16.

Hello, How’re you? Need a hint please:I’ve a vm backuped as a vm under its vcenter And an agent for a specific fs backup on it As i’ve indexing v2 enabled, i see both backup types under the same commvault inventory entity, with 2 agents: fs + virtual server (virtual agent for vm backup) Since i’ve probably made a mistake (i had to wipe/merge manually entities because of strange double reference for vm backup in inventory), when i try a full backup on the virtual server/backupset/subclient, i’ve already done 2 weeks ago with success, i get an error “there is no license available”So:I’ve licence enough I can’t find by myself how to re-enable licence on this vm  entity Do you have an hint please? Thanks in advance. Regards.

Hi, Please diagnose incomplete data transfer between mount points.At the turn of February and March, we migrated a dozen or so mount points between arrays.All tasks were successful. Old data was not deleted on one of the mount points.There is much more to the target mount point.View from the catalogs side.How can we confirm that the data has been migrated correctly?

As topic says, are backup and restore of Hyper-V shielded vm’s (Guarded Fabric and Shielded VMs overview | Microsoft Docs)  supported ? And if so, are there any special configuration needed on the Commvault side ?

HI Team,We have an RAC server which is having oracle agent installed , data has been backed up to the disk library.  Does Commvault Support restore from Disk library to Azure Cloud. If Does Commvault support the restore what will be the restore speed and How much time it will take for 8TB restore.

We have scheduled daily incremental and weekly Full backup which runs every Friday. However, only incremental backups are running, even on Friday incremental runs and not full. Even if we fire a manual Full backup or even differential, it runs only incremental backup. Not able to figure out what maybe the issue. Can you help?

Hi, we are testing backups to Azure blob with time based immutable options. we have 2 containers for short and long term backups.for short term backups, we decided to use worm workflow, but our issue is with long term backups.our weekly backups are retained for 7 years, if i use worm workflow it seals DDB every 365 days (maximum with workflow), and we planning to leverage manually setup for this enable immutability on storage container, enable worm option on storage policy level, and make DDB seal time as 7 years. can someone please verify this setup?Thanks,

Hi,We are planning to upgrade our commvault software version 11.20.46 to the latest 11.26.x (If still supported). Below are our inquiry. If our active Capacity license can cover to perform or assist us on the upgrade by the help of CV Support team? Under Commcell Environment Upgrades documentation, we can see a lot of information's about the upgrade and procedures. Being new to this backup software this cause confusion. Is there a way to provide a specific upgrade procedure base from our current setup/environment including compute requirements? we are setting up AUX copy to MCSS cold storage for one of my customer and have used IN premise DDB to send dash copy to cloud Storage.I have confusion here.Support our In premise Site/Server goes down.Will i be able to recover my data from cloud after rebuilding CV server? because both in DDB were in local storage only.or Does it copies DDB to MCSS also?

Hi there.Can a StoreOnce Catalyst device be presented to 2 Media agents and shared to leverage load balancing and fault tolerance ?On all project I have encountered StoreOnce, they were either over LAN or attached to a single media agent.Also, can we use a Linux Media agent with Catalyst over FC ? Documentation says MA on linux is supported but not very clear on how the device will be “seen” at the OS level and if additional Linux drivers/software are required. ThanksAbdel

Hi community, Hope everyone is doing well,Commvault has a pre-built file anomaly detection, with the monitoring of a honeypot file, I know that by default it is checked every 4 hours, and that, it is possible to tune this interval with additional settings. My question is, does reducing the interval have any impact on the client ? For like 30, 10,1 min …? Etc, does it consume any of the resources on the client (CPU, Memory ...). Thanks guys.

Hi All, Request you to please provide me solution how we can Backup and restore a VM in on-premises datacenter on to the Commvault environment on AWS.We have Commserver, Media Agents and VSA server on AWS and VMC on AWS.Client wants to backup there 2 VM’s using the current Commvault Environment  and then Restore then to VMC on AWS. As per my understanding can we using Media Agent and VSA on AWS to do snapshot Backup of VM’s on on-premises datacenter vcenter/exi and then restore it to VMC on AWS.OrDo we need to built Media Agent and VSA server on on-premises to perform snapshot backup and then restore it to VMC on AWS. Request you to please provide best way to achieve this activity.

Hi everyone. Customer runs several tape libraries in their commcell domain.One of them is configured with LTO8 tape drive and LTO7 M8 tape media which is known for 9TB tape.Tape drives are well configured just by performing detection and it showed tapes in library with “OOOOOOL8”. (but it’s a M8 media, 9TB capacity)I tried some configuration for tape media - LTO7, LTO8, LTO7M8 … but the same result.It failed to mount the tape on a drive and it showed same error msg … (illegal request ...) Anyone who experienced this?

It appears that our Isilon NDMP upgrade has caused an issue with Commvault. Data is still being backed up, however, I am unable to browse the Isilon’s file structure. The following error appears. Accessing OneFS web administration interface over a configured SmartConnect service IP address is forbidden.Is there a setting in Commvault I can change or do I need to open a ticket?
