Dear Community,I’m asking how to restore encrypted DB2 database to an unencrypted location Since it’s doable from DB2 side using command line, I mean how to configure NO ENCRYPTION for restore job from commserve side ? Thanks in advance

Hello fellow CommVault users,I run a three node HyperScale 1.5 media agent on HPE reference hardware and recently one of the drives failed. I’ve replaced the failed drive and have started the recovery process to rebuild the contents of the drive.Question: Is there a command that can be run to show the percent complete on the rebuild process?Thanks in advance for any information.Ken 

Hi, I am currently going through the documentation to plan the update but some points are not clear to me:https://documentation.commvault.com/2023e/expert/migrating_hyperscale_x_version_on_existing_nodes.htmlIs this paper for both Hyperscale (appliance and RA)? The migration process migrates and reboots each node in the cluster from RHEL7 to Rocky8 sequentially. This process may take several hours to complete.Can I continue to perform backups while the cluster is being updated? (I'm thinking of the database log backups)We have a 6-node cluster, does anyone have experience with the duration? ThanksMichael

Thinking of cleaning up some storage policies — maybe moving a few subclients from one policy to another to keep things tidy.Qs: Any risk of data loss or backup issues when moving subclients between policies? Does this kind of change trigger a full backup, or will it continue incremental as usual? (Kinda hoping I don’t get hit with a surprise full backup… 😅 Appreciate your feedback everyone!

Hi All, happy new year to all.  I see in severel commcells the following event: Programm: CvSolrCoordinatorEventcode: 19:2582Description: Number of available streams [1] is either less than the number of nodes [1] or less than the recommended minimum number [4]. This can impact performance of the backup. This comes during the backup of the index server. I cant understand the problem. I checked the streams on the SP lvl thats fine. I disabeld the schedule and suspended all running jobs so nothing runs started the index backup and the error comes directly. do you have an idear ?

Can we apply vm disk filters on Intellisnap jobs Also how do I validate that the filtering is being applied; do I have to run a syn full or full first before it gets applied? I am trying to filter a disk out as we are already backing it via file system it resides on a data store I am choosing VMDK Name/Pattern option[DatastoreA]*/*Test_P01_1.vmdk

Hello All,I am backing up a VM daily Incremental and Weekly Shyntetic Full backup from different subclients as the following (GAR-PND-PRD_VM_Set_1,GAR-PND-PRD_VM_Set_2)I have Full backup from both of subclient taken on Monday.  and I have Incremental backup taken on Tuesday from subclient GAR-PND-PRD_VM_Set_1 . I have another incremental backup taken on Wednesday from GAR-PND-PRD_VM_Set_2. I am using CBT backup both of subcleint.If I restore VM from the Incremental backup from the GAR-PND-PRD_VM_Set_2 subclient, Will I Cover all data from Wednesday Tuesday and Monday ? Or I will just have data from Wednesday and Monday?

Friends,We want to do a cleanup within our Credentials Vault and therefore I need to find out what MSSQL instances are using what credentials.Via Protect - Databases, you can see in the Overview tab the option “SQL server authentication”.Here you can override the Impersonate User on instance level. In our commcell we had a RHEL client with the name FakeName. Hi Community,Microsoft blocking the assignment of the ApplicationImpersonation role in Exchange Online to accounts starting in September 2024, and that in February 2025, will completely remove this role and its feature set from Exchange Online.Retirement of RBAC Application Impersonation in Exchange Online | Microsoft Community Hub For the Exchange Online - Public Folder Backup is a Impersonation role required. So far I have not found anything in the CommVault documentation on how to back up the Public Folders in Exchange Online in the future.Does anyone have any further information?Thanks and best regards,Andreas

Currently using Metallic and receiving the error message for several clients that jobs are already in progress but not able to locate the job.  Has anyone else seen this issue?  

Hi Community,i have uninstalled all Commvault Software as we moved to VSA backup only. In the commcell Console ist still shown with the Product Version. How can i get the Product Version away as my Client Computer Group “needs update” is still showing this Clients with my filter.    thanks

We started using Metallic O365 backups back when it was Infinite Retention.  We have reached 70% of our Quota in just a little over two years and would like to investigate why.  We manage Storage in our On-Prem Commvault by setting the retentions below.  I do not find these granular settings in the Cloud Portal.Can I set these specific retentions within the Metallic Office 365 Backup Environment? I want to start with our standard retention limit,  Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly.Daily - 7 CopiesWeely - 5 Copies (Each Saturday)Monthly - 12 Copies (Last backup of each day of Month)Yearly 5 Copies - (Last backup of each year)

Week back I have added additional space to the indexcache disk like 1TB due to space issues. Today when I check the index it is 411GB in size, so its increasing significantly.Why would it grow this much? Just normal incremental backups was run over night? No additional clients added or any changes made to clients being backed up by the MA.

Hello Team,We are doing hardware tech refresh of the Commvault backup environment.Initially the Commvault version is 11.20 and upgraded to 11.32.We have installed new media agent with back end hardware dedup appliance. Created new storage policies and then the file system backup jobs changed from old to new policy and started the backup. After some time the index cache is getting full. Is it because of Index version V1 or any thing on back end is doing the process?

Hallo Team, i wanted to create a Role within the CommCell Console for VMware Admins.I wanted them to be able to do basic tasks against VMs / VCenter liketrigger a backup trigger a restore ….But unfotunaltey when i add the Client “VM” i can not distingush between the “Virtual Server” and other installed agents within the Client. Is there a way to give rights against the Virtual Server Agent only and not the others. ( Also the other way around i want to give a user eg SQL Server agent rights but not Virtual Server rights. )Thanks a lot

Hello All,we are using VM Snap copy via using Intellisnap.  we will take VM admin Job (snap backup ) with out backup copy. we do not want to do backup copy but we want to delete automaticly snapshots from VMware. I ran data aging but COmmvault did not delete snapshot from the VMware. How to do it ?THnks 

A customer I am working with is trying to upgrade their commvault environment to the latest release.Manage > System > Maintenance > Download or copy software > Download option > Upgrade to Latest Release: 11.36.35 > check the boxes for both windows and unix packages.This starts a download jobs which kicks off and takes about 15 minutes where is says 400+ files are downloaded and job says success. However, when they look at the contents of the software cache after the download job, it still only shows 11.34.44. If they try to update any of the servers it tells them that the servers are already up to date which is not true. All devices are currently running 11.34.44 but shows the latest release for download is 11.36.35. They have tried this download several times and can see the network traffic is downloading but the software cache never shows the newer versions.They committed the cache successfully, and have restarted Commvault Services in the CommServe, but keep runni
