Is there a way to provide specific permissions/roles in Commvault which will automatically be revoke/expire  after a certain period of time? Any assistance is appreciated in this query

I have a Sharepoint Online client, that when browsing for a restore recently I saw that there was a lot of data simply not in the backups that is currently in Sharepoint.I am wondering if this is because previously the Plan was set to Received/Creation Time (this is no longer an option for Plans) of 30 days, rather than Deleted Time of 30 days. It was changed to Deleted Time in Feb. This is a client that was set up back in 2021, so a lot has changed in the CommandCenter. In the Console, if you go to Policies > Configuration Policies > Exchange Policies and open a Retention Policy you can still see the Retention Mode of Deletion Time or Received Time. Prior to the Plan Change, if an item was created, backed up, and then would be aged 30 days later. My theory is that these items that ‘aged’, did not get backed up when the plan was changed to Deletion Time.When changing a plan for M365 (Sharepoint Online in my case), does it apply retroactively to items (i.e. items that were backed

Friends, I would like to set the SQL Server Authentication on client level using REST. If I request the client info using `/client/:clientid`, I see within `clientProperties.pseudoClientInfo.idaInfo.sql61Prop` the override switch and the MSSQLCredentialinfo. I tried simply to get the client info, update what I want to update and post this back. The response is 0, but nothing is changed. Does someone knows how I can update this? Thanks in advance, Maurice

i have primary storage pool is in hyperscale x cluster , and looking for best practice to configure secondary copy to cloud , commvault metallic storage ,wehat is the best practise ,  do i need to use different media agent , or can i use any of the hyperscale x node , or what is best approach  is there any other settings to be aware while configuing aux copy

Hi Team,Let's assume that I backed up Vmware VM snaps with Intellisnap and did not take a backup copy. I only have a backed up snap, let's say after 5 days, can I restore the VM related to this snap?

Hello,I did an upgrade my test CS from version 11.32.59 to 11.36.35 on RHEL 8.8.The process itself went through without a problem, both Commserve and MediaAgent updated.However, when I log into the console, it still displays version 11.32.59 for Commserve and Commserve only. I did restart services, restart commserve, I can't do the repair it because I get an error that the version in the software cache is incompatible (I have 11.36.35 in the cache).Has anyone else encountered such a problem and managed to solve it?My dashboard now displays this:

We are migrating VMs from VMware to Hyperv and after migration we are doing some changes in the backup configuration like creating multiple Virtualization clients for different Hyperv cluster, VMs are moved and backed up in to separate sub-client. My question is afterAfter migration from VMware to Hyper-V does the first backup converts to Full backup? If the sub-client is renamed does the next backup converts to Full or only if the clients are re-associated with different policy.

Hello All,I need a report or a qoepertion command to list of which edge clients privacy is disabled. I have searched on documentation but I couldnt find a command. 

I recently discovered that our Oracle incremental backup schedule is not working as initially expected by my predecessor.It is assigned to a client group with all our Oracle servers and starts an incremental backup on the default subclient and a log backup on the Archlog subclient.The goal with this schedule was to only backup Archlogs. I already studied the documentation and read through a few post here but it seems like there is no way to prevent this behaviour when the schedule is assigned to a client group.Is there no other way to schedule an Archlog backup exclusively other than assigning the subclient itself to the schedule?Maybe some option to restrict the schedule to just Archlog subclients? Thanks in advance.

Hello, Please I nedd your help, I’ve tried to resolve issues regarding the cappacity so i found out that I’ve exceeded the capacity and the VOI ( 80 allowed VMs ==> used 81) so I deleted 5 VMs, My question now is it possible to use data agging to liberate capacity because I need to do it now so I can resume the ongoing backups that are suspended now

Hello Commvault colleagues,By enabling Content indexing for Exchange online / OneDrive backup jobs, I realized that consumes extremely high CPU resources, especially in initial backup jobs!Content indexing backup jobs starting right after backup jobs,So, apart from adding more CPU cores to Server, is there any way / recommendation to distribute this CPU high utilization maybe to another Server?Already tried to add a secondary node to associated o365 INDEX, but still, high CPU utilization is only to 1st MediaAgent.Please for your feedback,Nikos

Hi Team,We are trying to automate commvault backups and restore process.We need to backup SQL server instances and databases.Created server plan and we have database and instances added it to command center. I also associated a single database using instructions from here: https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/essential/associating_plan_with_sql_database.htmlBut I am not able to see any equivalent API for this that I can leverage to automate the process.

Hi, We are on 11.32.76. We have HPE catalyst as library. So there is no DDB configured. Recently I enable the Data Verification schedule at storage policy level. For some reason the Backups are not auto picked for Data Verification. The schedule starts the DV but it shows total size verified as zero bytes.I verified the same from jobs in storage policy copy , there are no jobs with Data verification status.I even selected newly available still it does not work. I have two questions.->How to resolve this issue, so that the DV1 auto select newly available jobs in storage policy copy?->If I have to configure DV1 schedule on plans from Command center how this can be achieved?   

 Can we do FSbased  restore postgre 14 to 15  (out of place ) Commvault documents said  Verify that you are restoring the File System backups of the same version of PostgreSQL and not from higher to lower or lower to higher. other document said   Verify that the PostgreSQL software version on the destination is the same version or higher than the version of source.     release notes (Supported Feature )  said   Which one is correct  Can we do or not
