Hi, Like my name state, I’m quite a beginner so please bear with me.I’m writing this after finding a similar post answered more than a year ago that didn’t quite answer my own question.https://community.commvault.com/self-hosted-q-a-2/average-throughput-information-read-write-network-ddb-lookup-meaning-2854 I have this job that backup a SMB File share running on my media agent. The file share contains RDS Profiles and HomeDirectory so it contains millions of relatively small files.The job has been running for 3 days and it’s ETA is at least 7 days.The Job details / Progress tab / Load portion says : Read 98% Write 0.07% Network 0.47% DDB Lookup 1.30% with a current throughput of 0.001 GB/hr. I have no idea where it got the Average Throughput from because I’ve never seen it over 1GB/hr).The Subclient job setting / Advanced settings / Performance tab / Number of Data Readers is fixed to 10 data readers. My questions are :Read being that high and others start so low, does that means the b

I recently configured Catalyst over ethernet and I haven’t any issues during the integration, even a single VM backup test was successful, however when I scheduled a subclient with multiple VMs (5) the job is going to waiting state with the below error: Error Code: [62:2910]Description: Error occurred in Disk Media, Path [CATVMsManagement\1NDD43_11.24.2023_02.03\CV_MAGNETIC\V_3] [-1404 OSCLT_ERR_SERVER_OFFLINE]. For more help, please call your vendor's support I did validate the Store in Commvault and it is in status Ready and access Read/Write, Moun Path Allocation Policy is set to Maximum Allowed Writers. Also ran a mountpath validation on the store and it was successful. The error is only thrown when there is more than 1 VM in the subclient. Is there something else to configure to allow multiple data streams run on the StoreOnce side? Here a sniplet of  Job Manager.log19296 66c8 11/23 22:31:12 19 Servant Remote Stream Allocation request for [4] streams of type [1] received. Does Commvault backup the nfs mount path in the Vm while backup...? do we need to add any additional settings..?  if the backup is failed due to Error “ scasi-0-nfs share is not accessible”. how would we troubleshoot it. what are the basic steps to check first? 

SQL backups do not resume upon suspending? Resuming causes SQL backups to start over or skip current database and move to next one? So should  we prefer the job to be killed if it is going to pending state repeatedly and not suspend it. This way, next schedule can kick in and run successfully.

So… this is probably a stupid question but…I’m a long time CommVault client and I’m slowly switching from the java GUI to the Command Center.  This week we installed a new AD server so I went into CC, created a backup plan, and installed the CV AD client on the new server.  Now I want to run a full backup but… there doesn’t seem to be any way to do that.  When I go to Protect > Active Directory, I see the new server but there’s no option in the Action menu to run a backup.  Am I missing something? 

Do we have to enable the worm copy from Commvault side to have the backups stored on the Azure immutable containers with Deduplication that will be sealed in a set of intervals?

Hi!  According :  https://documentation.commvault.com/2023e/expert/22355_configuring_sap_hana_system_replication.html “The order must be the primary node and the secondary nodes.”  How to change node order from webconsole? I can select nodes but not set up the order :  From java console node order can be switched using arrows :    Thanks. 

hello,         I am presented with the need to install FREL on an existing VM with the operating system already in place, a task I haven't tackled previously. Admittedly, my proficiency in Linux is currently a work in progress. Here's my understanding so far; however, I humbly seek your guidance to navigate through this process more effectively. first we install MA and VSA on Read only mode.Ensure that RPC services are running (rpcinfo -p / Systemctl status rpcbind).from point one where what exactly need to be installed filesystem ida…?(if yes should i install it read only) point 4 will i get those options on Linux in that path…??  point 6. is that script preconfigured….?

Configuring Cassandra client in our environment and the Engineers want to create a Service Account for CV backups with Cassandra.  However couldn’t find a doc on minimal permissions needed for backups and restore, anyone know if one exists?

I’d like use Auto Recovery for Azure VM, only find article to introduce how to configure it. could anyone guide how it works?create snapshot → backup copy to local cloud library → AUX. to DR site cloud library→ restore as new disk?

Hello,We have a couple of servers which utilize RDM disks in VMWAre. These servers can’t have snapshots taken (as per errors in CV) because of these disks, even with disk filters applied.These servers are SQL servers, we need to protect the SQL data via the agent as per standard. We also need to protect the OS & D drive for ease of restoring these VMs. Based on the fact we can’t take snapshots, I need to protect the VM via the file server agent too.I attempted to install the file server agents over the SQL agents but it removed the SQL agent and put the file server agent in place instead.Is there a ways to leverage SQL & File Server agents at the same time?Thanks in advance

We have restored a few.mdb and other log files from the system state backup. The files have been restored, but a number has been added to each file. Please refer to the PFA snapshot for reference.

Hello, Over the last few months, we have adapted the Command Center so that our customers can now set up and carry out backups independently. Agent is offered via the Download Center. Installation and assignment to the corresponding company is carried out via the AuthCode. It all works so far. Only if the customer wants to create a user for backing up a database, for example, do we receive the following message:Failed to verify user [eos\SVC_IMVPMS5J_SQL_RW] for instance [imvpms5j]. Verify that services are online and with the correct user name and password.If I then enter the same data via the console as an admin, it will be saved and the backup can be carried out.Has anyone had these problems or is it possible that the permissions are not yet correct? Who might have a little more experience in this area and could help me here?RegardsThomas

environment is running at 11.32.23 version and we are in the process of refreshing the environment. We have 1 old media agent running backups to Network storage. we have added a new media server to environment, configured new mount paths to the same storage in Grid configuration. Backups and restores from and to this storage is working fine. We have a DR setup with the same configuration. When we are trying to run a AUX copy from the new media agent in DC to DR storage, the AUX copies are failing with this error. I am attaching the log and screen shot for referenceany urgent help will be appreciated. Going to support is taking a long time to get an answer. we are waiting for 4 days for an answer for an another issue 

I am looking for a command wherein i can just give VM Name and delete that VM from Subclient which has many VMs in it. Is there a command or an XML using which this can be achieved. Need to use it for decommission process.

I have some questions:I am currently using 3 CommCell in my system. Suppose I copy backup files from HPE StoreOnce A (Data Center) to HPE StoreOnce B (Data Center) through Storage Policy. The question is, if the entire system at the Data Center encounters a failure, how can I restore the files and VMs that have been backed up from HPE StoreOnce B. If the CommServe is located in the Data Center, can I use a different CommServe at the Disaster Recovery (DR) site for the restoration process? Please kindly send me instructions for registering a new customer. Is this registration possible before I have the license file

Hello,Just wondering if there was a specific way to control who (via a creation of a role potentially?) has access to administer and manage certain backup workloads from other backup workloads? Trying to work out how one would specifically segment this access and functionality. E.g. Database Admin only has access to be able to Managed backups and restore SQL Database backups.Kind thanksMark
