hello guys,, i’ve problem when try to run intellisnap backup to Hitachi storage,, the error seems like this below :   fyi, i’ve already configure the storage on array management.. but the erroe messages, tell failed to get array info..  maybe some has experience about it and know how to solve the issues 

Hello community,I just tried to create a plan via the Command Center. Apparently you can enter everything as usual but when I want to complete the creation there is no response. So it doesn't switch to the overview of the plans. If I then go back manually, I see the created plan in the list with the status "Incomplete". I can't explain the problem at the moment and have therefore attached the logs from the WebServer.log and a screenshot. Has anyone here had this problem before and can possibly help me?Version 11.32.59 is used.Unfortunately I can't say whether the problem has only been there since the update to this version or whether it existed before. Hi Commvault experts, I would like to ask how to change the active library controller for the tape library. Of course, I have reviewed the documentation (https://documentation.commvault.com/11.16/library_properties_configuration.html), but it wasn’t helpful in our case. Our new Media Agents have access to the shared SAN tape library, they can access all drives, and even auxiliary jobs are running through them. Unfortunately, we are unable to change the Active Library Controller under Tape Library → Properties → Library Controller → Change, because our new Media Agents are not listed there. What are we missing? In the Device Manager on the server's operating system, we can see all tape drives. So what could be wrong?

Hello - I am looking for advice on best practices on protecting data that is fairly static, gets updated once or twice a year( at most per quarter), but not on a consistent schedule. Also, looking to store this data in public cloud deep archive. 

Hi Commvault experts, are there any caveats when moving 3 DDB partitions (all have different volume/disk H:,I:,J:) from one Media Agent to the new one? Has to be a new Media Agent added to the Global Deduplication storage pool before the moving of the partitions? The point of moving is to move DDB partitions from the HDD disk to the SSD disk, while moving to the new Media Agent server.And what about size of the new volume/disk for the DDB partitions? Is it just enough sum the amount of the Used Space on DDB Disks from all three DDB partitions? There is a couple of articles from the documentation about ddb moving/sizing, but I would prefer hearing examples from real life situations/experience rather than encyclopedic axiom…- Tell me and I forget. Hello, we use cv11.32.63I have the following question: When I start in commandcenter a synth-full backupjob an incremental backup runs before. Is there any way to run only the synth-full backup without incremental backup? I only see this behavior when I start the synth-full backup manuelly. If I define a schedule policy I have a choice run incremental backup before, after or synth-full backup alone.   regards Roland

Hello,I have a Storage Policy with the disks and retentions shown below. The idea behind this design is shorten the time required to backup to the primary, then Aux copy(slower disks) can be done later. For jobs with a Full(day1), Incremental (next 20 days), I have seen the full and incrementals being retained on the primary and not aging after 1 day. I understand why as the Full and incrementals are needed to restore, but is there any way to age them off the primary as they will be available on Aux Copys. I have been manually deleting the jobs off the Primary as space starts to run out, but the next incremental job automatically converts itself to a Full backup. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.Primary - SSDs 3TBs - Retention 1 Day 0 Cycle Aux Copy - HDDs 40TBs - Retention 21 Day 1 Cycle Aux Copy - Tape Storage

Does commvault make use of Multi-part upload to S3 compatible HCP/HCP-CS storage?If yes, what's the part size? Can it be modified at the CV ? Does it occur for both non-worm and worm policies? Are there any logs where the parts and upload-ids can be viewed? 

How does HyperScale deal with node failures? An issue with the M2 NVME boot drive caused the failure of one of our three nodes Cluster  (HS 2300 HSX Appliance). Version 4.7 of Hedvig; with over usable capacity of 88 TB; hosted on SuperMicro servers. We saw that all of our backup jobs had entered a waiting state (there's no indication that the backup entered a waiting state right away. Rather, after a few hours, it stopped). When we checked how much the rf3 discs were being used on the nodes, we found that nodes 2 and 3 secondary space were being used a lot.Commvault TAC informed us that after a node failure, the HedVig File system could only handle a certain amount of data, which in our case was 7TB. After that point, the File system became inaccessible to further writes, which doesn't look completely resilient because it gets hamstrung with capacity if it goes beyond 7 TB even though there is more capacity left in the remaining nodes

Hello community,Im looking for a way to restore an on-prem Exchange mailbox to an Exchange online mailbox (o365).From Exchange restore options menu, I can see only the Exchange (on-prem) as a destination. Also, from Exchange online (o365), there is only the option for Exchange online restore.No option for on-prem Exchange (cross restore). Our version is 11.32.49.Please for your feedback, if cross restore on-prem Exchange ↔ Exchange online is supported in Commvault.Best regards,Nikos

Planning to move the existing Commvault appliance to a new hardware with bigger disks and SSD’s.Some  questions: Current version is CV Version: 11 SP16 HPK17, shall I move to 2022E or 2023E? In the Hardware Refresh Procedure,it is mentioned that the local mount path should be copied to a location accessible to the new server. The size of the local mount path is 10TB. I plan to copy the contents to the new server’s disk library. Copying will be done over the network and I believe it will take some time to complete, so my question is, should I copy over the mount path before i do the CV installation in the new server? What is recommended approach?

We want to configure backups for Office 365 & AzureAD.According to the documentation the most secure method currently available is by registering (multiple) apps which can be configured manually or automatically when using a global admin with temporary MFA disabled.The only possible authentication method seems to be clients secrets which is better than service accounts for sure, but I wouldn’t call it the most secure method either.Not sure if (Azure) conditional access can be applied to the app registrations.Is there any other way possible, such as certificates or even managed identities ?It seems Commvault has possibilities in that direction but only for Azure VM’s.Kind regards,Tom

I need to protect data found on multiple CIFS shares, totaling about 40 Tb of data.I currently have a backup schedule where i take a full backup monthly, and then incremental backups daily thereafter. The problem is that the full backup takes multiple days to complete.Would it be recommended to take synthetic full backups monthly instead of the fulls?What are the drawbacks of never taking another full backup and going with monthly synthetic fulls only?

I am replacing my Windows 2012 CommVault physical server with new 2019 physical server.  I have several disk drives on the current server with commvault backup data I need to retain and I have same configuration on the new server except with larger disks.How do I migrate the CV database & data to new server?

During cleanup, in some cases, jobs for a few users get stuck in the running state and do not progress. The jobs neither fail with an error nor move to the completed phase, remaining in the running state for days. Is there any additional setting related to this issue or a timeout for a user's cleanup process?

Hi,We have multiple SharePoint online backups failing, usually the same file (videoplayerpage.aspx). We get the same reason for failure each time.“This part is not exportable. To be exportable, a part must be personalizable and not have its ExportMode set to None. Parameter name: webPart.”Is there a way to backup this file? I’ve looked online but found no solution.

Running v11.28It appears easy to turn on/activate, but since its “not enabled by default” (it appears...maybe someone turned it off?) I don’t know if it's going to cause any issues or require special considerations if I turn it on. So “reasons it’s not turned on by default” seem to elude me.Any reason not to turn on private metrics reporting? Do the reports using up a lot of disk space or memory/CPU for the “private metrics reporting server” (in my case: the commcell server)? Hello! We want to use qlist command for Commvault jobs monitoring for telegraf. When we are using it from single host - it completed after 1-2 sec. When we are using it at one time from 10 hosts - we are waiting to 15 sec, and after 50 hosts - to 2-3 min. How does Commcerve handle such requests?
