I seem to be missing some logic in the workflow for approvers. If the default approver group is master, but I have an external DL / group of users who I want to approve changes, how can I get it to trigger the email to that DL?Meaning - I don’t just want the master group to be notified of something needing approval, but both master and the external group’s notified at the same time (so either another master OR one of the external DL members can)?I initially tried setting the default approver to the DL but no email comes out (yes the DL has a working email for it). The approvers in that DL don’t do anything in Commvault, they are simply authorized to approve.thanks

CVMongoRecoveryAssistant cannot launch due to missing CVMongoRecoveryAssistant.dll fileI would like to solicit some advice as this has happened to me twice already.  I have been wanting to test the recovery tool for MongoDB use by Commvault.  For some reason everytime I run it, it complains about a missing CVMongoRecoveryAssistant.dll file.  I look into it in the base folder and the file is missing. This results in the tool not being able to launch. I tried to lab the Commvault using a different media and I have the same result. The DLL file is missing.Is this a known issue?  Any advice is appreciated

Hello,By mistake I performed a recall  on a tape media that was already exported, we plan to take it offsite  but still in the library.The icon is changed  If I try to export it again I have this message.How to get back to Exported media state before taking the tape offsite.I just want to get back to the previous state.  Thanks ! 

 I am having an issue with a Live Sync setup I created for a customer.The installations on both the production CommServe and the standby CommServe completed successfully. However, after enabling Live Sync, nothing happened.When I checked the Failover Process Manager, I could see the production server with a green status indicator, but the standby server did not have one.I also noticed that the CommServeDR policy does not have any SQL subclient associated with it. The only thing I can see is instance001 from the production CommServe.Later, I realized that the entire configuration was done without TCP ports 8405 and 8408 being open between the two CommServe servers.My question is:Is it possible to revert or completely delete this Live Sync configuration and recreate it from scratch after fixing the port connectivity?Any guidance would be appreciated.

I’m busy with a new installation and getting an issue where the installer gets stuck on the below screenshot. The error in the install log is also listed.I’ve checked the status of the VSS writers and they’re all healthy. The Windows Event log isn’t showing up any errors warnings either.I suspect this might be a permission issue, but I am a local administrator on the server 

Hello, Commvault archiving doesn't stub files with error Action:[StubbingSkipped], Reason: [File has Extended Attributes]. Files have Extended Attribute $KERNEL.PURGE.CSOOA0000 set by Crowdstrike.Is it possible to force Commvault to stub such files? Maybe using some exclusions? 

Since a few months we have the problem that the archiving function does not work anymore. Files that were previously stubbed without any problems are suddenly no longer stubbed. Also files that had a recall are not stubbed again. In the logs it says "Reason: [Skipping as file has recall on data access or open attribute ON]". Files are for example jpg and bak. We are already in contact with the support but they don't get any further.

Background. 11.40We have a team that has permissions to run backups/restores and their management console is the command center.Recently we had a request for a Bare Metal restore for a Laptop. So my recommendation was to use 1-Touch but upon looking for the option on the laptop section, I noticed the option is not there. When I do the same thing within the File Servers entity, I can see 1-touch recovery. Chatting with Arlie, and I was told that, BareMetal restores for Laptops are not available within Command Center.So I thought I would ask the community if Arlie is correct or If I`m missing something here. If 1-Touch is truly not supported in Command Center for Laptops, would anyone know why? Just think its strange considering it leverages the same agent (File System) and its supported under File Server but not in Laptop? Will this be added in new FRs?I asked the same question here about 3 years ago, post last post on this thread but got no answer. Would appreciate some feedback on how

I need a user which has the permission to enable/disable scheduler and kill/suspend jobs in the job controller. My problem is that I can’t select only the commserve as Association in the user group. Hi Commvault Community,I’m searching for a precise method to export all job IDs that “live” in every Disk / Cloud Library in our Commcell environment.From a previous case, Commvault support mentioned that the recommended way is by querying the Deduplication Policy DDB (from the CommCell Console, under Storage Resources > Deduplication Engines, then view Jobs).Question:Is there a command line tool (like qoperation, qlist, or REST API) that can export all job IDs from a DDB (including Files, Databases & VMs Deduplication Stores)?   instead of manually exporting jobs manually from the GUI?The goal is somehow to automate these reports for audits, analytics, or targeted operations (such as clean-up, reporting etc). Please for your feedback.Nikos

Hello Community and Happy New Year!In a client, we have a primary storage policy using a Disk Library (DDB). Needed also a tape out (copy-2). The HPE tape library is already configured and accessible via MediaAgent.For these auxiliary copies (Copy-2) to tape, we need to create two distinct groups: Weekly backups with 4 weeks retention Monthly backups with infinite retention   What is the recommended best practice?Stick with the default storage pool for both aux copy types (and rely on retention rules/scheduling to differentiate)? Or create two dedicated storage pools (e.g., "Weekly_Tape_Pool" and "Monthly_Tape_Pool"), assign specific tapes/drive pools to each, and configure the aux copy operations/rules to target the appropriate pool based on backup frequency?Also, it’s important the tapes to remain strictly separated, no mixing of weekly and monthly data on the same tapes!  Thanks in advance for your insights and real-world experience!Best regards,Nikos

Hello Commvault Community, Do you have any news about problems using the AllowUnsetComplianceLockOnDRCopy key for SP36?The ability to remove the Compliance Lock for the Primary copy within the CommServeDR StoragePolicy works for lower (SP32 for example) and higher (SP40 for example) Service Packs.I currently have a case where this key doesn't work in three lab environments (SP36).It's added at the global level for the entire environment (CommCell level) and is set to true: When I go to the CommServeDR policy, the option to remove the lock does appear, but after accepting the warning and closing the window with "OK," it doesn't load this setting and back to the previous setting.And after closing: Any idea what is going on? Thanks in advance!Kind Regards,Kamil

Hi,I understand that recently compliance lock is available for disk whereas originally it was for S3 specifically. While I don’t see the option to enable it via Command Center, in the console tape copy properties have the Compliance Lock box to check. So my question is - enabling this on tape copies is or isn’t supported? thanks

Hello All: It seems that CV is moving in a Rocky Linux direction, so I thought it would be good to replace my Windows MA’s with Rocky.  However, after chatting with Arlie it’s not supported for a Linux MA to backup Windows FS data (NetApp - NTFS vol).  It can backup via NFS, however it will loose the ACLs.I have for years used Windows to backup Linux volumes, so it would seem logical it could work in reverse.Thoughts?Dan 

Hi All, there was an option in the cloud.comvmault.com webconsole portal to use the staging feature. The DR Backup was uploaded and than an cs with restored db was created. An link with login credentials was provided. Now over the command center i dont see this option any more. Is it gone ? thanks for help

HiI have a problem with a Commvault LiveSync setup running with Rocky linux ver. 8.When I am doing a test failover all is looking good. But when I am trying to do a maintaince failover, the maintaince failover fails.It is faillling under the recovery process on the standby node with the error saying “Failed to generate new CS client certificate”.  I have been trying to stop the selinux and firewall on both CS, and still are getting this error. Does any have a idea on what is the problem?

Hi Commvault experts,We are designing an archiving workflow and we’d like to get your advice on the best practices. Let’s assume the source is NetaApp with SnapLock volumes (WORM) and target LTO tape library with WORM media.Our goal is to move/archive data from NetApp SnapLock volumes to WORM tapes for long-term retention (10+ years).What is the ideal storage policy for this setup? Does it make sense to use a “staging disk” as a Primary Copy and then a DASH copy to the tapes, or is there a better workflow for WORM volumes (primary copy directly to tapes)?We are also choosing between two tape strategies. The first is a "Clean Archive" where data is written only once to save media. The second is "Periodic Fulls" where we write the full archive again every so often for better safety. Given that the source data is immutable, which approach do you recommend?Your input will be much appraciated.

Hello,We got an repmgr postgres cluster, the backup works fine when i run them manually with both FsBasedBackup and dumpBasedBackip.i have assigned a plan for the cluster client, but only the dumpBasedBackup jobs are runninng, the FsBasedBackups jobs dont even start.I would like help with that problem.
