I have enabled two factor authentication for commvault specific group in which both domain user and local user are member of , two factor authentication is not working for domain users , is there anyway to make it work 

Hi,Our backup is connected to the VmWare VMs that are divided into two clusters:- vcsa-sap.seab.lan , whose VMs are present in the SLA- vcsa.seab.lan, whose VMs are not present in the SLAOn 30 October 2023, the certificate of vcsa.seab.lan was renewed and since then the VMs have disappeared from the Commvault SLA on the Command Centre page.  Before the certificate was renewed, there were 90 VMs in both clusters.Now only those of the vcsa-sap.seab.lan cluster are present (43 VMs) but not those of the vcsa.seab.lan cluster.  I need instructions on how to proceed in order to add the new certificate in Commvault and restore the correct functioning of the SLAThank youCarmine 

i have set up the  Replication for File System Agents,  and its working as expected ,i have only one backup site and replicating from that backup  i would like to know how can i replicate to previous version incase the latest one got affected , also how can i do the validation while or before replication , i dont see any option for Replication for File System Agents. i have read we can integrate it with 3rd party solution to check , can we do it for this scenario  and also do we need license for this and do we have trial 

Hello Guys! We know that working (especial a lot) in webfrontends is terrible, compared to a native Software/Programm/App installation. Every klick is a kind of reload. Klicks in the Java Gui are often instant, on web there is always a amount of waiting time. One way to avoid the command center as much as you can is to write your own little Software, with API Calls, or CV cmdled, or qcommands.  But if you have to use the command center, and commvault is pushing us more and more into that, i want to improve the experience as much as possible. So for that I’m asking you, if someone did that already.  Whats currently in my mind: - Find the fastes Browser. There a Benchmark websites/tools available. - Customize this Browser (= tuning for Performance) for just one special topic: The command center (Use other browser for all the different internet stuff/not Command Center related Stuff). Besides quick reload/refesh times, good features (if command center supports that) would be a smart preca

what is the  difference between if am scheduling a restore after each backup job of a client to a different destination and using auto recovery for replicating to different destination , what are the advantnags if i am using replication can i go back to older restoration point ?. 

Requesting your assistance as we are experiencing an error in the Commvault console when attempting to query devices that do not have Commvault installed. This process was previously done through Active Directory. I am attaching the error message for your reference.If any of you have insights on how to resolve this problem or have encountered similar situations, I would greatly appreciate your guidance.

Hi All,in the infrastructure that I manage, I have a Commserve and a Media Agent on premise (cmvCServe and cmvMA01) and another MA (cmvMA02). Due to cost issues, only the Commserve is directly replicated on a remote infrastructure dedicated to any Disaster Recovery.A second MA (cmvMA02) is active on a DR infrastructure, but not actually used.Both MA are connected to two different S3 libraries in the cloud where the respective DDB is also present.In the event of a disaster, can I recover the backups carried out by the on-prem MA by configuring the share of the library located on the first MA to be reached and used throught the second MA, positioned in the DR environment?Is this a viable configuration?Thanks in advance for your answers!Best Regards

Hello, When we deployed Exchange Online backup couple of years back, we still used On-Prem AD. Now AD Team is migrating more and more to Azure AD, including shared mailbox delegation groups.We used these groups to provide Commvault the list of users that should have access to the archives of shared mailboxes. Given that the delegation groups now only exist in Azure AD, would there be a way to eitherconvert Exchange Online with On-Prem AD to Exchange Online with Azure AD or work with the new Azure AD objects to delegate shared mailboxes in Commvault?Our current setup is:Exchange Online with On-Prem AD End User authentication using SAML (Azure AD) as primary means of authentication. We still keep the On-Prem AD Domain Identity Server, SAML is Associated with the AD Domain. Thank you,Zoltan

SQL backups do not resume upon suspending? Resuming causes SQL backups to start over or skip current database and move to next one? So should  we prefer the job to be killed if it is going to pending state repeatedly and not suspend it. This way, next schedule can kick in and run successfully.

Our SQL client server has 2 interfaces. Backup runs on one VLAN but cluster config runs on the other VLAN. I was able to setup backup as single node instance and running. After creating a Failover Cluster INstance it cannot add the SQL instances into it as it has connection problems. My question is.. do we need to have both node and cluster IP in one VLAN?

i am working on a new workload configuration for Scality object storage running with Amazon S3 and in the below link i was not able to find the access node requirements https://documentation.commvault.com/v11/essential/114959_add_amazon_s3_object_storage_repository_with_access_key_and_secret_key.html also the note: under the access node, not fully clear  The access nodes must be of similar operating system type

Team, need to know what is the best practice for NAS client configuration regarding the clusters/vservers.Scenario: Client has a netapp. CIFS/NFS will be used. Is best practice to configure the NAS client as the cluster and then add the vservers to it (under ‘storage virtual machines’) or to configure a NAS client for each vserver ? When configuring a NAS client for each vserver would there also need to be a NAS client for the cluster ?

This is just an informative message for customers using FREL appliances. In case you upgrade an existing FREL appliances that is based on FR30 or earlier and in case the FREL is unable to connect to the public Internet than the upgrade to FR32 will cause the FREL to go offline. During the upgrade to FR32 it tries to pull some packages from a public repo which is not possible. I have an outstanding ticket for it and the only solution now is to refresh the appliances with the FR32 FREL.I in all honesty also hope development reconsiders the current approach and implement an automatic FREL refresh function that can automatically re-deploy FREL appliances preserving the current configuration using a one-button refresh option. This is a much better approach than offering a solution that can push out FREL OS updates. 

I was using a different backup solution before(Backup using Tape Library)After purchasing a new CommVault, you install CommserveCan CommServe recover tape that was previously backed up from a different solution?

Hello everyone! This is a generic set of questions to understand and share information on what are you guys doing regarding restore validation and testing. Any specific feature from Commvault that helps with that? Running workflows to automate those tasks? How often to run restore validation (validate only option). Does anyone uses that Validate Restore workflow from the Commvault store? Test restore using a subset from the whole universe? Let's consider VMware, Windows FS, Linux FS, Oracle. Regards!Pedro  

Dear Team,We have five data center and each DC deployed one media agent and taking backup through disk library. Out of five data center one is the main and another four are the branches. Now we are planning to deploy tape library for only secondary copy. Which is the best option to take tape backup? Taking secondary copy in the same data center. So, need to deploy tape library for each dc or will move all secondary copy to main dc in one of the disk library and then moving to tape copy. Need your support to implement the solution in Commvault.

Hi Folks, I have a customer with Ex Server and ExArchiving in place who started migrating EXMB to ExangeOnline. Stubrecall works after MailBox migration to ExOnline. Question is, is there an elegant way to recall all the messages from the Archiv into the ExOnline Mailboxes?Any hint is very appreciatedThanksThomas

Dumb Question, but  I don't want to have to have my systems team argle bargle. Media Agents have to be physical servers, correct? I am assuming there shouldn't be a reason why it cannot be a virtual machine, but before I put my foot in my mouth (tasty btw) I want to see what the community best practice is.

we have done a hardware refresh , and planned to keep the old MA and Library unitl the retention period ,we have our tape library connected to Old Media agent and aux copies are configured on it,  i would like to know the best approach to move the tape library to new MA all the current job to tape library are finished, can anyone help me with stepsputt media agent to mainantance modereconnect tape library to new MAscan the library using new MAthat is enough ?
