Software Upgrades and Updates

Hi all,The limitation noted under Limitations of Linux CommServe Server (commvault.com) : So, is it saying that once you go this route of running the CS on Linux you’re stuck on that particular level of MSSQL forever, or, is it saying that we cannot patch SQL separately and Commvault will take care of security updates and such as part of normal Commvault updates?  The other question I have is the “Legacy Active Directory Single Sign-On” limitation on that same page - is this saying that SSO works for Azure or that with the RHEL CS SSO is a non-starter regardless?thanks

Currently I am on Commvault version 11.24 with SQL Server 2014 and Windows Servers 2016.Will there be any issues with upgrading it to Commvault version 11.36 which is the latest released in June 2024? Will the SQL be upgraded automatically as part of the upgrade?

Dear Alli tried to deploy PostgreSQL in both was remote and interactive installation on Linux Server using Commvault Version 11.32. latest release, however in the installation log the needed package was not found. any idea how i can get it, also i tried to redownload the Linux Packages using Commvault Console download, the job completed successfully however same issue.

Hello,We are preparing to upgrade Commvault Servers to the version 11.32.56 from 11.28.56. We have a total of 6 servers in Commvault architecture as below. Please suggest how to proceed with the upgrade in sequence.

There are a few companies now offering Microsoft 365 tenant configuration backups for disaster recovery. (not individual applications, the tenant configuration itself) There is the Microsoft365DSC Powershell module that can be used to do this. Wondering if Commvault has a plan to include this? Would be nice to integrate it into Commvault.

I would like to upgrade SQL Server from 2014 STD to 2022 STD, which has commvault database engine, but i couldn’t log on as it showing about wrong password.CommServe Version 11.28.115. Can i upgrade SQL Server without process of full backup Commvault DB?at ComCell, is there any option to export all setting or DB export?

We need to update our vCenter from version 8.0U2 to 8.0U3. Since I can't find anything relevant in Commvault's documentation, has anyone successfully backed up vCenter 8.0.3 with Commvault 2023E (11.32.56)?

HiAny suggestions on which FR to upgrade too? I have 4 Physical MA’s that meet hardware requirements and are running 2016 standard. The CS is also a beefed up physical machine running Server 2016 and SQL server 2016. From my reading on the community, 11.32.* might be more stable as long as I have reached the requirements. Please do not send URLs, they are very unclear to say the least. I’m just looking for personal experiences and recommendations. Cheers Neil 

Hello,We would like to upgrade our CommVault installation 11.25 to latest 11.32 release.Is it possible to make a direct upgrade ?  When i try to download the software from GUI Console, the latest feature release that can i choose is 11.26 ? I cannot choose 11.32 in the list. What can i do to obtain the latest release from Gui commvault console ?  Is it necessary to upgrade to 11.26 and after to 11.32 ?  We use SQL Server 2016, is there an automatic ugrade to SQL 2019 including in the 11.32 installer ? Thanks

I’ve been tasked with upgrading our Commserve from v9.0.0 R2 to v11.32. Is there any specific upgrade path or can I jump directly to v11.32?  TIA

I am asking because as you see we have the Commva at the version 11.32.45 and to the others are behind. Any advice would greatly appreciated.

Hello Teamwe have recently upgraded Commvault SP to 11.32.49 and we can observe in every 6-7 days backup went to hung state and waiting also backup job is not moving.we are facing issue after SP upgrade to 11.32.49.Please help its is bug in 11.32.49 or any fix of this issue.

Hi Guys, a wrong message is being displayed in our Commsever (more usage is listed as it is, instead of 6,5 TB it is showing 9 TB of data). I read, that a license renewal file for the Commvault can correct the error. Can you please tell me where and how I can download such a license renewal file? Do I need to contact the sales manager, who is responsible for purchase of Commvault and he will contact the Commvault Team or how does it work? Best regardsEugen

Please help, it is a critical case, I updated my commvault from 11.32 to 11.34 everything was normal but the next day the commvault OS cannot be found, the disk is not recognized.

We are planning to upgrade from 11.28.xx to 11.32.xx soon.  Recently during a separate event, I was told that when we upgrade to 11.32, the INDEX FS increases dramatically.  Does anyone know more information on this so we can plan for the increase? 

I have uninstalled all client agents from a host, the upgrade status shows as not applicable.The client now only has VM agent backups occurring. While all other VM backup clients show v 11.00, these clients still retain the agent version. Is there any way to resolve this as it is ruining day.   

i have just create new client to install in it media agent in it but when i created it i fount that its version is 11.00 i want to upgrade it to 11.32 how to do it?

Moreover, by submitting the DR backup file, all of the old setting and metadata would transfer over. However, our current virtual server that hosts 2022E does not have the necessary system requirements to host 2023E. Therefore, our goal is to create a new virtual server, install all necessary commserve software, and have this be associated as our new snappro server (snappro02). Questions:Does the commserve and sql software still have to be deleted from the old server (snappro01)? I can not add vmware (vcenter) hypervisor to Commvault. I did upgrade Commvault from 11.32.35 to 11.32.54 (Maintenance Release) and I notice this problem as you can see on the attached picture. I saw that before upgrade (v 11.32.35) I had the same problem.
