DearI need to carry out a survey of the growth of data volume in my backup environment, a comparison of growth over the last few years.Would anyone have a step-by-step guide on how to generate this report in Commvault?This information will be necessary to justify the calculation of data growth projections for the coming years.Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm currently installing Simpana 9 version on my Solaris client and using it.I reinstalled it a while ago due to a problem, and I haven't been able to back it up since then.Back-up content browsing is good, and scanning is good.But it's only not backing up. It's an unknown error.

Hello Commvault Community, Commvault enviroment version: SP34I would like to ask about the possibility of changing the Client Identifier (old Client Name) for the CommServe module.We have an environment that was migrated from the old one - Hardware Refresh, but the Client Name of the CommServe module that we wanted to change remained there. We used the key:bAllowModifyClientNamehttps://documentation.commvault.com/additionalsetting/details?name=%22bAllowModifyClientName%22&id=12282 Unfortunately, this key doesn’t allow you to replace the Client Identifier for CommServe. I know this isn;t highly recommended, but is there any chance of changing this - through Commvault technical support? I'm asking because after Hardware Refresh we used the existing environment and backups by restoring from DR Backup with the CSRecoveryAssistant tool. After this operation, the Client Identifier was taken from DR Backup and doesn’t reflect the actual name of the CommServe module. Thanks in advance,Kami

i have file server where i am taking full vsa backup (included all drives)and for the same server am taking file system agent backup only for some drives ,does it consume double space from my storage ? will the deduplication work well with two type of backup 

we previously use cqcclassic.commvault.com/Dedupe/Design  tool. Now it cannot find it. if anyone have an idea? 

There is a new physical tape library configured in this environment (HPE MSL G3 2024) with 2 tape HPE Ultrium 8-SCSI FC drives. The tape library was added in Commvault and few auxiliary copy jobs performed:1. With the hardware compression disabled in Commvault storage policy copy data path configuration. The size of data on the first tapes was 10 TB.2. With the hardware compression enabledin Commvault storage policy copy data path configuration. The size of data on each tapes was 20-21 TB.The backup data type is VMware backups.Our question is why Commvault is not placing more than 30 TB on each tape, considering they are LTO8 and hardware compression is enabled? This customer has another Commvault environment  , with similar backup devices and same settings, they are able to accommodate between 30 -40 TB.

Hi All, We have many clients that are backing up even in powered off state. As per my knowledge, snapshot should be placed in the datastore and creation of snapshot consider the ESXi host rather than VM (please correct me if I'm wrong).To avoid such scenarios, I found that we have prepared and post process scripts which can be made outside of commvault.Can someone help me on below questionsWhere I can find these scripts?How these scripts works?Do I need to place these scripts in every VSA? Thanks in advance!!

Upgraded to Commvault version 11.34.5.  We are running intellisnap backups and AppAware for SQL  Since the update SQL AppAware backups do not work the default way for this version, App Consistent.  The manifest.zip file that is sent to Commvault from vmware doesn’t contain the xml files needed, Writer.xml.  Per Commvautl/VMware this failure is happening on the VM client OS side of things.  Has any experienced this issue? Thank you

I need the api that gives the deleted VMs list from the vCenter. As per the document:https://documentation.commvault.com/v11/essential/rest_api_get_virtual_machines.html I should get isDeleted in status info as a response but I didn’t see anything like that when I ran the Get VM api:[redacted]response:[redacted]test VM is already deleted. I need an api that can mention that the VM is deleted on vCenter. So I could go ahead and delete it from commvault.

Pls help.Environment detail:Bond1VLAN1.bond1 (CS-Registration)  -→ This will be used for connecting to Commserve and VMware backup, DNS, and MGMT.VLAN2.bond1 (Data Protection)-→ This will be used to backup Agent-based backup. Bond2 -→ This is for the Storage Pool. DNS record not required.DNS record planning to create for the bond1 interfaces.VLAN1.bond1: hsxcsreg01.smaple.com , hsxcsreg02.smaple.com, hsxcsreg03.smaple.comVLAN2.bond1:  hsxdp01.sample.com, hsxdp02.sample.com & hsxdp03.sample.com   ? Do I need to create a DNS record for the Agent-based backup sub-interface? In this context, I doubt I can have a DNS entry for a sub-interface other than the CS registration.  Please help.

Hi Team,i saw in documentation that, each node should be commvault licensed to be used as HSX nodes. So when do we install the license ? do we install it from commcell or on each Node ILO after the complete installation of HyperscaleX ? i am going to use a HPE Apollo 4200 Gen10 Server.

Our network and security team have proposed the creation of a new Management VLAN within our Internal LAN, with the intention of consolidating all Management/ILO's into it. Hello,When I try to add content to the various O365 applications on metallic, I get a discover task launched but it doesn't execute.I click on refresh cache, it goes to "in progress" then if I refresh it goes back to "not started". I get the same error for all applications. This isn't the first time I've configured apps on metallic, and it worked fine a few weeks ago.*has anyone ever had this problem?Kind regards Max

Dear Community,In a organization with 1GB network cross infrastructure, Im looking a way to redirect a backup traffic from a Client Server with 10GB lan → a Commvault MediaAgent also with 10GB LAN.This client has a huge Database and in order to proceed with backup, a 10GB interface network!Please for your recommendation / workaround in order to redirect the 10GB interface between the specific client ↔ MediaAgent,  which also has 1GB network (for the other backup jobs)!How can we ensure that database backups are routed through a specific 10GB network, considering that the communication between the ComCell and the client currently occurs over a separate 1GB network? Is it possible to prioritize backup traffic to utilize the higher bandwidth network effectively? Best regards,Nikos

Hi Team, please help with below query,our commserv server management interface and HSX RA nodes DP interface are in different VLAN and there is firewall in between.we have commserv server management interface in VLAN 10 and data interface in Vlan 20.
