I am trying to create a workflow to run multiple VSA backups through workflow by just selecting the client from the list. For VSA backup it is not working. Same is working for File System level backup. Is there some limitation to run for VSA backup? If yes, what is the easiest way to achieve this. Tried from Rest API as well but we need to give vm name and client name which becomes a bit complex.

However, once login to the CommCell Console, we received a message indicating that the DDB was currently undergoing maintenance and required the completion of maintenance operations such as DDB resynchronization and conversion to a transactional DDB, among others.we have 2 DDBs, and the "convertddbTov5" plan indicates that there are 2 Memdb that need to be converted to version 5. Questions:  if the DDB resynchronization will function as expected after the CS hardware refresh, as two of the DDBs are MemDBs that will need to be converted to V5 after the successful hardware refresh and DDB resynchronization. I’m a fan of the Console but I’m told it is no longer going to be supported. I’ve been instructed that I need to stop using the Console in favor of Command Center. Just a couple questions about that though.Do I need to recreate my configuration as Plans on the interface? I’m finding that my Console jobs are running, and I can manage the job, but I don’t seem to be able to make changes to things like policies.If I do setup plans and get everything going in the Command Center, will that override the Console settings? Do I need to do anything in the Console other than to stop using it?I’m also open to any suggestions, tips, etc. that you can provide.

Hello All We take adhoc backups every day for patching activities and we search for each and every client in Command Center and trigger incremental backups for those clients(more than 100 every day). Is there a way that we can trigger the backup for these clients using RESTAPI. Foreach through these clients and trigger the incremental backup. I was able to authenticate and generate the authentication token but cannot trigger the backups for those clients. Its my first time with RESTAPIs. Would be grateful if someone can point in the right direction. I am using PoweShell. Thanks

Hi,Currently this is the only 2 options available for Agent types in our Restore job history.Seems there’s no option to select other agents unless you use the Java GUI built in reports.

Hi Vaulters, Regarding SAP HANA, we’ve got two sites, first one being replicating its SAP HANA to the second (using HANA replication). With commvault, how can we manage this type of scenario ? Do we only need to back up data in the first site, or do we need to implement another MA on the second site to back up the replicated data also ? It's more of a design concern. Any provided suggestion would be appreciated. Regards.

Hi,We will be adding 2 more expansion modules (160 slots and 16 LTO8 drives in total) for out tape library. I haven’t done this task before, so I wonder do I need to stop the Commvault service on all of my Media agents when I do the detect the new expansion modules with the Expert Storage Configuration? Thank you.

This is just an informative message for customers using FREL appliances. In case you upgrade an existing FREL appliances that is based on FR30 or earlier and in case the FREL is unable to connect to the public Internet than the upgrade to FR32 will cause the FREL to go offline. During the upgrade to FR32 it tries to pull some packages from a public repo which is not possible. I have an outstanding ticket for it and the only solution now is to refresh the appliances with the FR32 FREL.I in all honesty also hope development reconsiders the current approach and implement an automatic FREL refresh function that can automatically re-deploy FREL appliances preserving the current configuration using a one-button refresh option. This is a much better approach than offering a solution that can push out FREL OS updates.

Hi,What are the plans for adding OS patches to the Commvault software repository? Same as hyperscale?i know there is a CMR for it for a while. We want to prevent that we need to redeploy the FREL’s each time or do manual actions on the FREL for regular basis. thanks

I received an incremental backup after a full backup, but the date of the file change was 1972. The file does not change, but it is being backed up incrementally.How should we solve it?

Hello  In Commvault, the available snap engines for HPE include HPE 3PAR, HPE EVA clone, and snap. HPE MSA is not listed among these supported engines. so question arises: Does the Commvault HPE IntelliSnap engine provide support for HPE MSA? if yes, which one need to select? thanks

Has anyone kicked the proverbial tires on this yet either from a NAS or S3 target? Curious to know if CV is qualifying it internally or if it’s on anyone’s todo list. 

Due to the lovely time of the year (which is all the time) we have auditors wanting to know every nook and cranny of Commvault. The current ones are wanting to know the full list of each specific process and Services that Commvault would be using on the client and media agent. I found this document <Click Here> inside the documentation which displays certain services and processes, but still missing a few like BlrSvc and CIMgrS. I just need to compile the name, if its a Commvault or OS process or service, and a brief description of what they do.  Is there something like that somewhere?

Transaction log backup running for seven hours, error messages are repeated. Uploaded logs are from a short trying, what was killed. But error messages can be seen.Most interesting part of the JobManager.log for me is: “ArchiveMgr Failed to get valid archive file.” and “Set pending cause [CreateIndex index processing failed - no index archive files.]”Can it be any Domino Server issue? The storage policy was set as below. Deduplication: Enabled Retention: set to 1 day and 0 cycles Worm Lock: DisabledOn the 26th, when the retention period had ended, CommVault sent in delete requests to the Cloud Storage for deletion of the metadata and indexes. However, no delete requests were sent for the archived data chunks. Hello All, Does having the ~ key in folder name hide the folder from being backed up? For example “~new folder”. I am looking at doing a restore of a file in a folder that has that character in the name. Thanks!
