Dear Team,We have five data center and each DC deployed one media agent and taking backup through disk library. Out of five data center one is the main and another four are the branches. Now we are planning to deploy tape library for only secondary copy. Which is the best option to take tape backup? Taking secondary copy in the same data center. So, need to deploy tape library for each dc or will move all secondary copy to main dc in one of the disk library and then moving to tape copy. Need your support to implement the solution in Commvault.

Hi all, The user is currently using RHEL 7.9 and is on SP 28. He is aware that the latest version of support for RHEL by Commvault is 8.7 as per (https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/essential/107801_system_requirements_for_red_hat_virtualization_access_nodes.html).Given the document was last updated a few years ago, could you please confirm if we extend support for 8.8?If not, when are we likely looking forward to supporting it? Thanks in advance!

Scenario:One Azure Tenant (“A”) with production workload only (Azure VMs, Azure Files, Azure SQL, & in-guest Applications).One Azure Tenant (“B”) solely for Backup resources (Media Agents, Blob Storage for primary Backup, Access Nodes, etc.).Both Tenants are in the same geographical region in Azure.Backup Azure resources from Tenant “A” using the resources from Tenant “B” with the Backup stored in Tenant “B” on Azure Blob. Why different Tenants? Mainly for administrative purposes (separate Users, Subscriptions, Network connectivity). Questions:Is this even possible? I’m aware that the resources used for Backup should be in the same geographical  region, but what if they are in a different Tenant?From my understanding it should technically be possible, but I’m unsure about possible drawbacks (latency, egress costs, etc.)Any experiences or recommendations with such a setup?

scenario: I have a WORM storage policy (deduplication enabled) of retention 3 days 1 cycleI have run 2 full backups to my storage on same day which completed 1 cycle of retention and with deduplication 7 days of retention is added so total (3+7) 10 days of retention. Will my first set of data be deleted on 11th day since it completes retention on both cycles and days or kindly correct if there is any gap in my understanding here ?

Active directory object restore fails with below error. While trying to restore a deleted OU, USERS etc.  Backup is successfull and I am able to browse the objects.  Error Code: [72:106]Description: Failed to restore "OU=,OU=,OU=,DC=,DC=,DC=local". Hello, Has anyone heard anything from Commvault regarding support of vCloud director 10.5?It was released sometime a month ago i guess and customers are already starting to push us for the upgrade.With the 10.4 release in mind and the deprecated API’s for backup in that release I googled and I see that on the green competitor’s forum that if you do the upgrade to 10.5 now, backup will just stop as it did when 10.4 was not supported by Commvault or other backup providers.

Hello is it possible to enable worm on a s3 bucket with infinite retention? If we want to worm only for 30 days with infinite retention what is the best way?Just create a copy with infinite retention and worm enabled on  it Create a copy of 30 days with worm and add extended retentionthanks in advance

Hello community, I would like to ask you for an advice. Lately I`ve found the failure when I did check readiness on media agent (windows 2016, CV version 2022E/11.28.56). Error:Communication failure between MediaAgent 172.xx.xx.23 and the client “mediaagent1”. Error returned is:Services on destination are down.  Communication failure between MediaAgent 172.xx.xx.23 and the DDB MediaAgent “mediaagent1” Error returned is: Error returned is:Services on destination are down.When I checked services on both media agents, all are up and running. both are in same vlan, so no FW is in place. Both servers were rebooted in last days. DDBs on both MA`s are either online.if it is a normal FS client, I would push “repair software” option on the media agent. Thanks a lot for any advice. 

Hi,This is my first attempt to resolve some problem using Workflows.I have a default subclient that backup all DBs on Windows SQL using SQL agent.The attached schedule policy runs full daily at 9 PM and then tlogs every 2 hours.The problem is that a pre and post script has to be run on the client before every full backup, but not during tlogs backup, so I cannot use the pre/post script tab in the subclient properties. Is it possible to create a workflow that will monitor this subclient activity and if the CommCell is trying to run the full backup, the workflow will pause it, run the script, wait until is finished and resume the backup, and run the post script at the end, but when is backing up tlogs, will bypass both scripts? Sorry if I am overcomplicating things, if there is a simpler solution, all welcome to share it :) Thanks,Marcin

We have installed the new Comm Server for the 10 Virtual machine backup and still not updated the license and it is runing in the trial license .My organization wants to test the DR restore .So we have reinstalled the Comm Server OS and Comm Server Tool. But when we try to restore the Comm server with the old DR backup , it is stuck and asking the license file .

Hi, In my environment 2 data center and centralized commcell, commserver data replication is happening every 15mints, yesterday network team done switch level upgradation in dc2, because of the  network activity,  DC2 disks library are  fluctuating,  and we are facing issue  Index restore jobs running more 12 hours. still index restore running, looking for suggestions.

Hi there,I just have a question about the Unusual file activity. When I go there I can see the graph and the graph also shows the Deleted Files including how many filers were deleted and the date they got deleted. So, Is it possible to see the details for that? Or generate a report for that? Thank you.

Is the any reason for the NDMP Properties button to be greyed out on a netapp that was added to array managment?  I am able to take a snap backup, when the back copy runs I get the following messageError Code: [39:28]Description: Please enter NDMP credentials for client:[myNetapp].Source: cvcs2, Process: NasBackup However, the NDMP Properties button is greyed out so I cannot add the credentials there.

I have a customer with a deprecated Commvault environment that’s on V11 SP10. They no longer use the environment and want to recover Mailbox Classic Data.I’m seeing a strange issue, where I cannot recover multiple mail messages (and by default entire mailboxes) if there are attachments in the mail. If I recover messages with no attachment, then I can recover them into a PST file.The error I see is:Looking at the logs, the restore job is trying to reference a DDB ID that isn’t available under Storage Resources. I suspect it may have been deleted at some point (the system has been inactive for a few years).The active DDB’s are all online and accessible.My understanding is that a DDB isn’t required for a recovery operation, but it seems to be causing issues with mails that contain attachments.

I have a number of VSA psuedoclients that need to renamed but the option simply isn't there.Am I missing something simple? I can’t imagine this is a real issue.
