I’ve noticed that when installing the File and MSSQL agent on a client, it populates the networking quicker if you add the default file subclient to a storage policy before adding the sql subclients in.

CV 11.32.132Hi, we currently use Classic Reports (Java Console) for billing our customers and have not yet been able to create a replacement using Web Reports (e.g., Chargeback Report).We need to perform a Commcell upgrade from 11.32 (Long Time) to 11.40 (Long Time) with a hardware replacement of the Commserver (to Windows Server 2025 std).Can any of you, based on your experience, tell us whether we will still be able to use the Classic Reports and the Java Console as usual after upgrading Commcell to 11.40?Regards,Alex 

Hello,One of our clients has an On-prem CommCell with IBM 3576-MTL6 library with 6 drives and over a thousands tapes. Considering customer is planning workloads/clients migration to a new CommCell is it possible to migrate indexes of these tapes and lift and shift actual tapes, however without migrating the actual library and tape drive hardware. Hello,our SLA status is at only 60% after upgrading to 11.40. back in January. That means that about 40% says “missed” and when I check the SLA report it says “no finished job within SLA period” for about 500 clients.After checking them, I can say that there were indeed jobs running in the past few days for those clients (including full backups). The majority of those clients don’t have a file-system backup configured but SQL, EDB or VM backup.   Does anybody know where this issue may come from?Thanks in advance

Planning to move set of server in current commcell to new commcell.Commcell yet to build and AD creation in progress for independent environment.After commcell provisioned How to start the migration from old comcell to new. We like to keep the long retention backup. Any new media agent need to build? 

We are in the process of addressing an audit finding to secure accounts that are members of the domain admins group.  The options were to either enable the “account is sensitive and cannot be delegated” on the account or make the account a member of the “Protected Users Security Group in Windows Server | Microsoft Learn” which both will cause backup issues.  This account is used to backup both AD and VMs in the environment.  Has anyone run into this?  If so, how did you resolve it?

Hello,I have installed cloned machine (remain same IP address and same name) instead original. On the Commvault backup server there were no changes. After the server was cloned, the backup from Commvault stopped working.Description: Failed to start phase [Backup] on [mailserver] due to network error [Remote machine [mailserver]. The socket connect failed. Error returned [-1=Connection to mailserver:cvd(8400/8400) failed on bck: Can't unambiguously route connection to mailserver because there are multiple tunnels from different instances of CVFWD pretending to be mailserver]. Check Network Connectivity.]. Will attempt to restart. Hi all,we have recently set up a new Linux server with a 6+ TB DB. The normal CV backup works good, much faster than our old System. We have a problem although with database logs. When the System is being used it can produce new logs every three seconds. Our old system had an open pipe to the backup System and was able to Archive the files fast enough that we didn’t have a problem. CommVault takes around 15 seconds per file. When the system is under load we have a problem with our log space. We now have a temporary log area (2TB) which we need to give back.The way I understand it CV opens up ist stream to DB2, Archives to log the closes the stream and checks that everything has been properly archived. The Problem here is the overhead involved. The actual archiving of the file is fast enough, it just that everything around is to slow.Anybody have any suggestions how we can accelerate the process?Thanks in Advance!

By default, the Web Server is installed as part of the CommServe installation when IIS is enabled on the computer.If you did not install the Web Server during the CommServe installation, or if you want to install additional Web Servers on other computers, you can do so by using the installation package that was created from the Download Manager application.How do you create the installation package for the web server, because I cannot select webserver. There is a data loss in customer environment. Customer wants me to check if there was anything which was backed up and could possible be restored. There are 2 incremental backups from which data needs to be restored. But while browsing the incremental data is stuck at “loading data….” and not actually loading data. Previous incremental backups are being browsed successfully.  

Has anyonce used Claude AI to create a dashboard Showing client information like Schedule information, last successful backup etc ? Do you need to enable Arlie AI, do you need to do anything else on the CommCell to allow access.Any help is welcomed. We’re on 11.40

Hello,We have multiple VMware VMs that were migrated between vCenters. The UUIDs of the VMs remained unchanged.In the Commvault console, we still see a single VM client; however, after the migration, a new Backup Set was created for the same VM.From a chargeback perspective, does this result in duplicate license consumption for these VMs?Thank you.

Hello Community, we recently switched our primary copy to an object lock (WORM) enabled storage pool.After a while we noticed that the storage space will not be sufficient regarding the additional space required for deduplication.Therefore we switched all clients to a new primary copy without object lock to let the data age out before going back to locked storage.The data on the locked copy should now already age out but one cycle is stuck with “BASIC_CYCLES” because the copy was created with 1 cycle retention initially. Is there an easy way to clean up this cycle for all clients?I could already free up the jobs from our VSA backups by disabling the subclients and enabling the option to ignore cycle retention on disabled subclients, but this is not practical for all other clients. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
