Good morning, We are new to postgres databases and are implementing our first production cluster soon.  What are you all using for your log backups in terms of scheduling?  We are running in continuous archive mode and currently have backups every 15 minutes.  Even 2G  backups are taking under a minute. What are the considerations for setting this? If our RPO is 5 minutes, would it make sense to backup every 5 minutes, or is that trying to fit Commvault into a high availability box that it is not designed for?If using FSBasedBackups, are you also using regularly scheduled dump based backups?  In what scenario? Thank you very much, this forum has been fantastic!-Chris

I am currently running Commvault version 11.36.80, which manages a VMware vSphere cluster (version 8.0.3) through vCenter (version 8.0.3).I would like to integrate a Proxmox cluster (version 9.0.1) into this environment.When attempting to upgrade Commvault to version 11.40.26, I receive a prompt indicating that the SQL Server must be upgraded first.Below are the steps performed for upgrade SQL Server: SQL Server 2022 Express Edition: When I install SQL Server 2022 Express Edition, I am able to successfully upgrade Commvault to version 11.40.26.

The master server is currently using v11 sp14,I'm trying to install the client redhat 9.7 version, but can't I support it? If not, which version of sp can I support it from?

Hi guys!I need your help.I am trying to use AirGap Workflow to set proxy cennection between MediaAgent ‘cvmakrk01’ and CommCell Infrastructure.I have created following computer groups.  Then I have created the following Networktopology for AirGap workflow. My goal is to push Commvault to use ‘cvproxy’ client to set tje network connnection between MediaAgent ‘cvmakrk01’ and Commvault infrastructure anf the use AirGap workflow to turn on ‘cvproxy’ only for the time of AuxCopy jobs.However, I can see, than even if the ‘cvproxy’ is powered off, the Check Readiness still shows me that ‘cvmakrk01’ is ready. 

Hi AllOvirt the Source project for OLVM is defaulting Keycloack as the Default Authentication Provider, so far Commvault doesn’t support it officially is there any workaround? or is the support coming soon? thanks 

Hi Team,From last couple of days HANA Backup is getting failed.In the Client system showing two instances (instance001 & instance002). Instance001 services is stopped & we are not seeing commserve entry. Instance002 services is up & running, all the relevant data is visible.CVD port in Instance001 is showing 8400 & 8401 is showing in instance002.While trigging backup job in the logs we are seeing CVD port 8400 & job is getting failed. One more point post agent upgrade we are facing this issue. we upgraded agent from 11.28 to 11.36.

Good afternoon everyone.I have a question regarding a complete environment update. In this environment, there's a machine running Commserve and MediaAgent. It previously had version 11.32.122 and was updated to 11.32.80. When I check communication with this machine (performing a Readiness Check), it indicates that the Web Server and Command Center are not ready. However, the software programs open when I try to open them. Is this normal after an update, or am I missing some configuration steps?I've attached screenshots of the situation. I would greatly appreciate your help.Thanks.

Hi,additionally to my previous post regarding support for Rocky Linux 9.6 I now ask for support for Rocky Linux 9.7 or Rocky Linux 9 in general. The official documentation https://documentation.commvault.com/11.42/commcell-console/converting_from_vmware_to_hyper_v.html mentions that a Windows Server 2012 R2 host is required as the destination system. Is this requirement still valid, or is there support for newer Windows versions? best regards,Andreas

I currently have an environment running Commvault version 11.24, and I am planning to upgrade to version 11.32. The CommServe database is hosted on Microsoft SQL Server 2012.Before proceeding, I need to confirm the following: Is SQL Server 2012 still supported in Commvault 11.32? I would appreciate any guidance or experiences from similar scenarios.

Not sure how old this behavior is but im using the latest Linux 1-touch 11.28 x64 iso. I restored a linux server to original hardware. When booting the server after restore, we noticed the nfs volumes were not mounted. they were usually mounted in the fstab file. When i looked at the fstab file it was not the original we used but a new one created automatically by the restore. It looks like it saved the original fstab in a backup file. Its easy to fix, either manually edit the fstab file or restore the old one but its strange we have to do this.There is an option to ‘Retain only selected mount points in /etc/fstab’ (checked by default) I tried to test it with this checked and unchecked and either way the old fstab was not restored and nfs mounts were not mounted. I dont know if there are other ways in which this might cause a problem but i suspect there might be. It’s not a huge deal but its very annoying when it seems restoring the original fstab file should be the de

We have a large number for VMware VMs that are getting migrated to new hardware. As such, the VMs will reside in a new VMware virtual client within Commvault. Is there a way to take a VSA based user defined subclient and it’s contents (namely the VMs) and move or clone them to a different virtual client? We’ve looked at the clone_subclient_template.xml but that appears to only clone to the same virtual client not a different one. Has anyone done this before or know of an auotmated way to accomplish this? Thanks!

Hi all,One of our customers is backing up a Red Hat OpenShift environment with Commvault. Using CV 11.40.xxI have some employees of this company in my training, and one of the guys asked me whether it is possible to restore a cluster to a DR site with a different cluster ID. They are having trouble with the Cluster ID, that's what I understood. SInce I have no experience at all with Open Shift, can anybody shine a light onn this? Thanks and kind regards,Henk

Hi,Here is my situation :For a specific server plan, a synthetic full is missing for July and August. We have extended retention for this server plan on AirGap so that one full by month is kept for a year. I have Synthetic full with all VMs of the subclient for : May, June and September but I don't have Synthetic full for : July and August. The difference between these months is that we added a virtual machine in July and August. At the time of addition, there are full backups to back up only the virtual machine we just added. Here is the answer of the support :When a new VM is added to a subclient, Commvault automatically will take a full backup for that VM during the next scheduled backup. If, during July and August, the synthetic full backup for the subclient was not triggered or completed, it may be because the schedule detected that a full backup was required for the newly added VMs. As a

Hey Guys,I have a question.My customer has several Windows 11 VMs on his Nutanix. The problem is we cannot backup them. I have already read here in the forum that you should simply remove the vTPM. But this is not possible for this customer. Does anyone have this case?Surely it must be possible to back up the VMs anyway?
