Hi Team,We are trying to automate commvault backups and restore process.We need to backup SQL server instances and databases.Created server plan and we have database and instances added it to command center. I also associated a single database using instructions from here: https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/essential/associating_plan_with_sql_database.htmlBut I am not able to see any equivalent API for this that I can leverage to automate the process.

Hi, We are on 11.32.76. We have HPE catalyst as library. So there is no DDB configured. Recently I enable the Data Verification schedule at storage policy level. For some reason the Backups are not auto picked for Data Verification. The schedule starts the DV but it shows total size verified as zero bytes.I verified the same from jobs in storage policy copy , there are no jobs with Data verification status.I even selected newly available still it does not work. I have two questions.->How to resolve this issue, so that the DV1 auto select newly available jobs in storage policy copy?->If I have to configure DV1 schedule on plans from Command center how this can be achieved?   

Hello community,This is my 2nd time that Im facing this issue, during CS DR test. Please for your help!During CommServe DR test, In “new” CS, I applied existing DB, the wizard finished and CV services are all up & running.CommCell is opened, but Command Center has the following message even after Server restart: (Please wait while our servers start up. This may take a few minutes.) Windows OS and Commvault versions are the same during the DR test. Does anyone has any solution about his?

 Can we do FSbased  restore postgre 14 to 15  (out of place ) Commvault documents said  Verify that you are restoring the File System backups of the same version of PostgreSQL and not from higher to lower or lower to higher. other document said   Verify that the PostgreSQL software version on the destination is the same version or higher than the version of source.     release notes (Supported Feature )  said   Which one is correct  Can we do or not

Hello Team,Just want check, we have two store once devices, one is primary backup and another is secondary copy.For secondary store once planning to configure airgap solution.Please advise, shall we replicate one catalyst to another catalyst in two devices with out Commvault aux copy. In this case will restore data any time from secondary copy.The secondary store once is connected another media agent server which is in different site.

I have an issue in Index cash directory which total size is 1.4 TB , and I noticed that the size had grown up with a high rate however that there are no additional work load added to my environment (11.36.28) and I have enabled the below parameter to be value ‘’1’’Delete archive files of indexing backup associated with deleted backup sets 1  But the old  Legacy Index sill consume nearly more that 350 GB after running data aging job.below is the index retention configuration that currently configured and I have configured it with below reduction days to be 8 not 14 days Any suggestion here to keep the index directory in a healthy status using the same SSD disk space we already have without expanding the capacity as its not applicable in the curren

Hello:I have version 11.34.41 of commserve. Can I update Python to the latest version that is on the download page? It is version 3.13.1. The question is: Is this version compatible with my installed commserve? I need to update Python on the recommendation of my IT security colleague.

Hi,we have an issue with compliance search. When I click on the email, on  the right side should be a preview of that email. Instead of the preview we just get the following information “error has been occured while previewing” see picture below. It is in German, but I have translated it for you.   In the log file DM2WEB.log we just see a short error message, that there is an error in the Microsoft .NET Framework while trying to load assembly id… (see picture below). And nothing else. So it doesn’t bring us forward and we don’t really know what and where to check to solve that issue. Our hope is the smart Commvault Community, which can help us hopefully.

Hello All, I noticed some of my AuxCopies use a lot of streams, whereas some other use just a few (3-5) even if I set the “Device Streams” value.The ones that use a lot of streams are from storage policy copies associated with hundreds of laptop and workstations. The stream tab of the copy job show a lot of different JobID with 1 or 2 streams by job.The ones that use smaller amount of streams are policy copies associated with Vms. The stream tab shows only a handfull of different job IDs. Source data is deduplicated and stored on the same disk library and is copied to the same deduplicated storage pool. I’d like to know if there is a way to force Commvault using more streams / pick more jobs? Stream randomization and Distribute data evenly amont multiple streams are active on my storage policy properties.Scalable ressource allocation are enabled by default.Batch size is set at 1000 Jobs.I am r

We are planning to implement Commvault with HPE StoreOnce 3660 NAS share, please advise the best Practice for the configuration level. - Is it will enable Deduplication & Compression in hardware level and disable these features in Commvault end. - Is it will run backup of synthetic full (or) full + Incremental.Please share best practice document to implement this solution. 

Hi Team, We already have raised a case with Commvault. 241023-539 | Azure HCI backups completed successfully.But with the same "warning production checkpoint failed for the VM" HCI team informed us “Hyper-V Integration Services for linux should be installed inside the VMs running on Hyper-V and they should be of latest version as well.”For some reason we are not able to enable this option inside VM. We are still not able to understand what will be impact on VM restored from this VM backup(completed with above warning) ?Will the filesystem and applications be consistent ?  

Friends, We use on our systems Oracle SEHA (Standard Edition High Availability) databases.That means we have 2 servers and the databases run at one server as single databases. If the server goes down, the database fail-over to the other server. It feels like classical cluster-behavior, but it’s without cluster-software on OS level. This means that Commvault will see the database as a standard Oracle database running on node1. Then when there is a failover, Commvault will autodetect this database on node2 as a new database and the one of node1 will have failed jobs.The when the database fails back to node1, the jobs of this database on node2 will keep having failed jobs.So the database backups are spread on 2 clients, while you can see in CV that the DBID is the same. As we have 30 days retention, we can’t just cleanup the remains on node2 as for recovery we need data from both clients. Hello, I have 1 Client with the following agents VSA and SQL Agent we use CV11.32.73. A VSA Backup runs every day. The SQL Agent discovered 3 instances. On one instance a sql backup runs every day.The two other instances has no scheduler and storage policy. I looked at SLA Report but I cannot find these instances. I don't use "Exclude from SLA" at sql subclient or client group level. When I look into commandcenter protect - databases I see the two instances with SLA status “Excluded”Can anyone tell me why SLA Report don't show me the two instances? Roland

 Here is a screenshot of the current status of the ddb.   Backups are running over desired time windows with 98.27% of load being ddb lookups.   We are close to capacity currently with backup storage though this will be resolved soon.   How can we resolve the high DDB lookup % issue?DDB and job status screenshots below.

Hello team!In case of enabling mfa for ALL users / groups, Im wondering if there is any “backdoor” for admin user.In case of lost Microsoft Authenticator app and email access, is there any way to restore access to Commcell, even with help of Commvault supoprt?I cant decide if it’s preferred to enable mfa for all admins (master) users or to leave one admin user without mfa (with a strong password) in case of backdoor.Please for your thoughts.

Hello:My IT security colleague wants to know if we can manually update the version of Python that is installed on the Commvault server. We have version 3.11 on the server and they are receiving alerts about possible vulnerabilities in the version and that is why they want the most updated version.

In the current Commvault version 10SP15, how can I protect files in the SYSVOL folder located on the DC in an AD domain environment? Are there any related resolution cases? What should I do if the files in the SYSVOL folder on the DC are accidentally deleted? There is only one DC.
