What happens when customers need to purchase a mix of different offerings of VM backups based on various workloads?Where Can i see the calculator (for ALL workloads - not only O365)?
Hello All,We have a customer data generated from 6 sites which is around 230 TB of size in total. As a first step we are planning to go for MCSS databox seeding. So we will have 1 Databox ordered for each site to copy the data from disk library to databox and then we are planning to ship it to MCSS based on the below steps:https://documentation.commvault.com/11.26/expert/147072_seeding_metallic_cloud_storage.htmlEach site has dedicated media agent which we will be using for primary backups and the same media agent will be used of secondary copy to MCSS.Hence customer has purchased 230 TB of MCSS cool tier license. Since we have 6 sites we cant use the MCSS from same region we will be in a position to use multiple regions during the MCSS library configuration. With this scenario explained, I have below questions:Am I good to create 1 MCSS library with 6 mount paths pointing to different regions? or I should create six different MCSS library for each region? Will I be able to create 6 MCSS
We recently did some rebalancing on our Hyper-V cluster and I’m wondering what actions I need to take in Metallic if any. Most of the machines that were moved are still using the hypervisor and VM group that they were previously on. I tried moving one of the smaller low priority machines to the new hypervisor as a test and it appears that it had to do a full backup after the move, but that may be my fault because I couldn’t find any documentation for the process and had to wing it. One of the machines still using the old hypervisor is the file server so I would really prefer to not have to do another full image on it again. My main questions are:Do they need to be moved to the corresponding hypervisor? If so, how do I do that without causing a full image backup? If not, are those backups still using the previous host in some way?
My companies Security team is evaluating the strength of the vendor sites we connect to and I have a question about what _exactly_ we are connecting to when we access the CommVault Metallic cloud storage. If I go into the java GUI > Storage Resources > Libraries > CV Cloud Storage > Properties, I don’t see anything that indicates the actual destination. If I use a browser and connect to the Command Center interface and go to Storage > Metallic Cloud Storage, there’s no detailed information there either. Is there a way for me to see the destination for the Metallic Cloud storage so I can pass that on to my security team for documentation and review? I’m looking for something similar to xxx.commvault.com or xxx.comvaultsaas.com. Ken
We have been waiting 6 months for a demo of Metallic Cloud Storage to test cloud second copy from our on-prem Commvault. Is this something Metallic does not do?Do I have to just buy a small amount of space, month to month, in order to test your product? All I get from sales is “I’ll follow up with the team on this”.We just want to verify how it works before buying 100 TB of Metallic Cloud Storage Service - Commvault
Hello All,I have 3 node HSX cluster, Am I allowed to use the HSX nodes as source and destination media agent for MCSS cloud library?while creating MCSS library, If I am choosing three HSX nodes for the MCSS and when i enable deduplication where my ddb will be hosted on the HSX nodes?RegardsAnanth
We just started using Metallic to backup SharePoint online. We tested 17 sites. The jobs are complete, but a lot of data is missing. Did anyone else experience this?

Hi,relative to Delete authorization / Restore authorization in Metallic Security IQ.Will this process work if there is only one user/administrator ie. a single client? In the remarks it says: “When this setting is enabled, restore requests will require approval from another administrator, providing extra privacy protection. This cannot be disabled once it is enabled.”regards,Markus

Anyone know if this is possible, or doing this? The Commvault on-prem solutions appears to support this, but I’ve not seen anything for Metallic (https://docs.metallic.io/metallic/147148_system_requirements_for_windows.html is the best I’ve come across) Thanks

Hello team!Looking at the regions of Mettalic Cloud Storage, we don't have Brazil yet. Is there a roadmap to launch Metallic Cloud Storage in Brazil regions? Regards
Hi,I’m currently trying Metallic and I would like to be able to let our MSP to do full managed services for us. That said, we would like to be able to insure the MSP admin are unable to access the data. I saw the option “Prevent admin access to company data” but we were more envisioning the use of an encryption key. In the company settings, there is that section called “Allow owners to enable data encryption” which may be aligned with what we would like but I can’t find any information on it. I activated it but I don’t see any change anywhere in the other section like plan or servers so I have no clue what it does and how to use it.I also saw in the security/key management servers that we can configure a KMS or a passphrase which, once set, is not visible anymore. I tried to activate the passphrase which seems to work but I don’t think that would deny the MSP admin to access our data. I think it kind of just replace the automatically generated encryption key by the passphrase I’ve put.
I have a machine that started getting backup failures with this error “Error downloading Virtual Machine config file”. Just started a week ago, prior to that backups were successful. What could be causing that problem. The server is in Azure VMWare Solutions and being backed up using Metallic.
Hi, is there a minimum network upload speed for a metallic endpoint ? regards,Markus
Hi, I was wondering if Microsoft 365 Family can be back-up within Metallic. I gave it a try to set it up but was unsucessful and received “Sorry, but we’re having trouble with signing you in.” as I tried to login into Microsoft with my family credentials.thanks for the clarifications,Markus
Looking to see if there is a mobile app that I can use to access my Metallic Hub for reviewing and managing my Office 365 Backup solution. Thanks,
Is there support for migrating backups from Commvault to Metallic BAAS?We started using Commvault 3 years ago. Now Metallic BAAS looks like a better fit for us. Our preference (if we switch) would be to not keep the Commvault for just those 3 years of backups. We would like, if possible, to import those backups into Metallic BAAS. I know if we changed to a different brand, this would not be an option, but since both are Commvault based, I figure I would ask.
For the ones interested → Metallic presented at Cloud Field Day see https://techfieldday.com/event/cfd13/I t.b.h. find it really disappointing to see that Commvault was not presenting as well….. Can we expect a session around Commvault Complete, HyperScale and any other solution?
Does Metallic support Microsoft SQL DB backups in Azure?
