Hello,We are running small env using Metallic SaaS,I’ve went through the API options ( api.commvault.com), looking for a way to get the ‘Activity Control’ status of an Azure Oject storage instance ( Blob / Azure file). I’ve Found almost all the instance properties beside the one I need.Is there a way to fetch the activity control status ( backup / restore ) ?   Thanks

we are failing to create 3 node Hyperscale 1.5.1 cluster (reference architecture ) the library was created but it’s offline with this error- Library status offline due to incomplete storage pool configuration. Please wait for other media agents to join this storage pool library configuration.the media agent for all 3 servers is ready.the version is 11.32.43 (commserve + the three Hyperscale nodes)  is it possible to fix the issue ? or we need to format and install again ? 

Can we install second media agent on existing commserve infra? actually, already schedule the backup and after second media agent installed, the respective schedule backup job changes the Media agent as second one. then will happen any issue or will backup start form be beginning what?

I am trying to push the media agent package on an Azure VM from the Metallic portal and it always fail with error 68:224 Description: Connection error. Check if services are running on client Any idea what is causing this error? Thank you.

We’re setting up a new Alma 9 file server that we plan to have 4x 60TB volumes, and then use the Linux LVM to stripe them (sort of like this).We are into the half-billion inode count now, so we know that the File Agent without using block level backups would be untenable as the incremental scan time phase alone on the previous file server would reach 13-15 hours before even beginning the backup phase.However, I am having difficulty finding documentation on commvault’s pages confirming or denying whether volumes striped in this way is supported for block-level backups (we know that the File Agent without doing block level backups works fine as we are already using striped volumes on our previous file server).Can anyone confirm or deny or provide a link to the documentation where it states one way or another?

IHAC looking to deploy HSX RA and create bonded vlan’s has the following question. Can the data protection bonded interfaces be configured for a vlan that will work with dot1q/VLAN sub-interfaces? So, I’ve got a ticket in for this, but have only recieved remedial solutions.  Basically, when we back up the dedupe database, its snapshot appears to be happening ok, but it’s missing files, as in they’re simply not there (see below).   It’ll take days of downtime (hundreds of servers not backed up) if we simply need to rebuild this.  Could this be a corrupt DDB?  Anyone else seen this issue?  ERROR CODE [6:43]: Backup failed: unable to open or read a file. Configured to fail on any error. Please check the following: 1. The account that the File System agent uses has sufficient privileges to back up files. 2. The data being backed up can be accessed and is not on a path that is unmounted or is inaccessible. 3. A third-party product is not locking the files. 4. There is no corruption of the data on the disk. 5. It appears that AD-based Accounts are now subject to account lockout rules - is this an 11.32 feature, or has this been around for a while? Also, is there / is there going to be a method to unlock accounts via the CommCell Console, or am I going to be forced to use the Command Center?

Hello everyone,We still have a few public folders running on Exchange on prem and we recently upgraded from Exchange 2013 to 2019.  I’ve tried to configure backup but am getting:No service account(s) found for public folder processing. Please assure that a service account is assigned a malibox association with owner permissions on the root and subroot public folders in order to proceed with public folder operations.This looks to be an Exchange issue.  Is there documentation anywhere that shows the steps to configure Exchange?ThanksKen

Hi fairly new to Metallic so bear with me please. text files logs are being created in c:\windows\temp and are on a Azure vm with the  Metallic file server agent installed, i was wondering if anyone had a idea of what is generating these logs, a service or other.    

I’d like to use VSA based File Indexing for a single Windows VM file serverThere used to be a tick box option in the JAVA Console / Subclient setup - But that seems to have disappeared. The Option now is to-Use VM Groups in Command Center easy to do)-But I’m then guided to use ‘Plans’ Is there anyway I can bypass this and use my existing Storage Polices  I’m happy to use a plan if needed (as I only want VSA file indexing for a single VM - so this would be ‘standalone / isolated plan - specific to a single VM)  

We have a system created policy to perform ddb space reclamation and only 1 of the jobs gets stuck and CVODS crashes on the media agent. Hi Team,I have an environment, need to configure AUX copy with 4 MAs and target is the IBM ICOS(AWS compatible). Our plan is, configure the MAs with Gridstor and partitioned DDB for Aux copy. So that, we will get HA for MA and DDBs. But, I have few query in the plan and looking some expert opinion make the solution more optimal.  When I configure the GridStor for primary copy, each job will pick the different MA in round robin mode, so all the MA will be utilized.  But, the aux copy run as single job by accumulating all the available jobs and once the job started it will use same MA. In this case how can we utilize all the 4 MA for aux copy to distribute the load? Do we have any other better way to configure the aux copy with cloud storage with load balancing ??  TIA,Mani  

Hi all, I have a question regarding the association of Oracle (sub)clients to Plans. Let’s say I have the following schedules defined in my Plan: Incremental backup for all agent types: Daily at 22:00 Transaction Log backup for databases: Every 2 hours Full backup for databases: Every Friday at 20:00 An Oracle Client by default has: A “default” subclient (with Selective Online Full enabled) An ArchiveLog subclient If I assign the Instance or subclients to my Plan, which schedule(s) will then be applied to these subclients? In my opinion, the default subclient should follow schedule nr “3” because it’s a Full backup. And the ArchiveLog subclient should follow schedule “2” because it backs-up the logs. But is that indeed the case? I have my doubts about this. Thanks in advance!

Hello folks,I have a role with permissions to perform certain operations for platform users. In this role, only the restore "In Place Recover" and "In Place Full Machine Recovey" of the VM is allowed, but when updating to version 11.32.38 .In the command center, when restoring a VM, I get the "Out Place" option, which should not appear because I do not have those permissions; in the previous version 11.28.68 it did not appear as it should.Regards.

Every once in a while my Java session will crash and leave a workflow “locked” By me, and it won’t allow me to make modifications. I know that restarting the workflow services will unlock it, but there is a way that doesnt require cycling services?
