Can you restore directly from Metallic Cloud cool storage tier?

Hi team ,We are trying to backup mysql on Kubernetes service - We are unable to backup the sql deployment. As it failing to create a Worker Pod .PFA a screenshot.Please reply asap. 

How do i assign a custom signed cert to this port being used by commvault and sql?  Nessus vuln scanner is scanning port 51984 and showing a unsecure self signed certificate.

Hi All,Our client is planing Commvault server refresh activity were they are doing the below steps:-Built new Commserve and Media Agents (All physical server)Keep the current Commvault environment and move all the Clients to the New Commvault environmnet.Below are my queriesWhen we are building new Commserver does we need to install Microsoft SQL manullay and do we require Microsoft SQL liscense for the same?And if we are using Commvault Media kit will Microsoft SQL get insalled automatically and will that also require Microsoft SQL liscense?How can we restore old data after moving the all clients from Old Commvault environment to new Commvault environment?Please provide you inputs.

Hi,I am trying to delete a deconfigured client. I get the error “ Detected Media Agent platform. Delete Media Agent before cleaning up the client.”This client is not listed under Storage Resources → MediaAgents.No backup jobs exist for this client. Is there a way to forcefully remove the client? Cheers. 

Hi, we have accidentally removed all attributes for backing up VMs in VCenter and we are in the process of re-adding them. Do we have the ability to create a report that can clearly explain to us which VM had which attribute and which one did not in Vcenter ? anyone know how to restore the VM’s attributes to that it was as before in VCenter ? Thanks

We have VM Periodic (classic) replication setup for some VM’s in an environment, the menu that pops out to initiate the failover scenarios does not display properly if you have limited VM’s in the replication group. The menu slides out but is then hidden behind the Replication Monitor pane.Example below of a replication group with a single VM in it:If a replication group has multiple VM’s in there (in this case 4) the menu displays correctly:Seeing this issue in Chromium based browsers.  Apart from resizing the window to something very narrow/tall (like example below): Is there a potential fix for this?

Just wanting a warm fuzzy on this setting…as we have been upgrading Commvault since v9...We have CacheMFTRecs added and set = 1 on all our Virtual Server proxy servers via several “Client Groups” that explicitly add it. The documentation (https://documentation.commvault.com/additionalsetting/details?name=%22CacheMFTRecs%22&id=2163) indicates “For Version 10 Service Pack 6A and higher, this key is enabled by default.”. We are on SP11, but I’m not seeing the setting set in the “Advanced settings” (It’s not even there to select) if I make a new Virtual Server proxy group.Question: So would it be ok to remove the CacheMFTRecs additional setting from the client groups, as “set by default” means its internally set to 1 inside the … errr...Virtual Server client or something... and not “set by default means “it is set by default inside a default client proxy group”?  It feels like after Version 10 Service Pack 6A and higher, you would only manually add this to a virtual server proxy client

Is it possible to have more than one Network Gateway to the same zone in a Commvault deployment? Obviously know can have multiple gateways that are used to access multiple security zones but is it possible to have multiple gateways to the same zone in a redundant configuration? 

Hello Commvault community,In case of VMware restore as native Azure VM, is there any way to manually select / set the Azure VM generation (V1 or V2)?I see in Commvault restore wizard, in VM sizes both gen1 & gen2 supported, but Im not sure If Im able to select the generation manually before restore..Please for your feedback!

HiWe want to configure Hyperscale data and storage network interfaces with bonding option but currenlty we do not have network resources for second network interface cable connection to switch for both data and storage networks. Can we configured Hyperscale with one interface for data and storage and later we can connect second interface for data and storage and configured bodnding for both networks. wihtout losing any configuration or backup data.Because with one cable connection for data and storage network we cannot configured bonding correct?Thanks

Hi to all,at a customer I perform an NDMP backup of a Volume containing a VMware Datastore (5 year retention).I need to change the backup type from NDMP to VSA backup (vCenter Client) protecting the entire Volume itself.My question is should I buy double the license capacity or does Commvault understand that it is protecting the same data?The customer has a TB capacitive "Complete" license. 

Feature Release update to 11.30 is failing with error "Update history file is corrupt" is there any KB for this error?I’m unable to find one

Hi,I am looking for a way to automaticly abort a running job or at least start a workflow (with which I then abort the job) when a specific error occurs in a certain storage policy. Is this possible in CommVault?The background is that every 10-12 days there is an issue with the VMWare backup copy (“VDDK thread timeout, possible VDDK deadlock encountered”), and afterwards, all VMs are backed up very slowly using only NBD. After restarting the job, the NAS transport mode is used again (at least for 95% of the VMs).Best regardsFrank

Hi,I have created a new SP and Dedup DB and assigned it to an existing MA. Created a new Index as well.Selected a particular client machine that was connected to this MA and changed the SP on this client to the newly created SP however after clicking on Full Backup the system by default shows Incremental in the Job Window and fails with an error ‘Index Restore” - There is no active controller for this device. For some reason it is not running a full backup. Am I missing a step or two somewhere?Env - Commvaut 10 R2 Simpana

Some years back we ran into a problem with cpu usage spiking during backups and someone in commvault suggested an additional setting that limited cpu usage it leveraged the OS to prevent cpu usage going through the roof and was expressed in percentage. i forget the name of the additional setting. Can someone help?thanks.

Hi,I have 11.24 release installed and plan upgrade to 11.28 (in this release Windows Server 2012-2012 R2 depreciated). Could you say please:1) What will happen with agents which are installed on depreciated OS  after Commserve and media agents will be updated to 11.28, will it continue to work normally?2) What will happen with support if I have Commserve version 11.28 but clients run 11.24 (which also is still under support and supports older OS)? Hi everyone, I have some questions about continous replica (vaio).The first question is about RPO: what is the minimum RPO that can be achieved with the vaio replica? Can it also be of seconds? And the retention of how many hours or days is it?The second is about the issue described here: https://documentation.commvault.com/11.24/disaster_recovery/106456_known_issues_for_continuous_replication_in_command_center.html“If a virtual machine is replicated to a destination site and you perform a restore operation for the VM at the destination site, the replicated VM and the restored VM have the same UUID” What exatly mean? Do I have to answer “I copied” everytime I power on a replica vm? Thank you
