Hi I have a CV alert that sends notifications to MS Teams via a webhook and it works fine (has been for months).I have now duplicated the alert but pointing the notification to a different teams channel with a different webhook. The problem is that the CV webconsole says the second webhook URL is offline.Hover over the webhook and I get > “Offline (28/07/2022 15:25:31)”I know the webhook URL works as its used by grafana successfully and also calling from the terminal works:curl -H 'Content-Type: application/json' -d '{"text": "Hello World"}'  [WEBHHOOK_URL]Any ideas why CV would report it offline?Thanks,Mike

Does anyone else find it concerning that a SQL Backup shows as complete even though a number of the databases within it are skipped.Is there anyway to easily highlight this in backup reports? 

Hallo,I am wondering if i can just pass an Report URL to Users so they can view an Report without Login /  I wanted a Self Service where End Users can check last sucessfull backup but i do not want them to have an account on the Commcell or the overhead of login

Good day all I just want to get some thoughts for those who use a storage target which has it’s own option for encryption.I’m setting up a new environment which will use VAST storage as a backup target. I will be enabling encryption and ransomware protection on the Commvault side. Would it be recommended to also enable encryption on the storage level using VAST’s encryption?Logically it wouldn’t make sense to encrypt encrypted data, but I want to check if anyone has any thoughts on this? Thanks,Mauro

i have this weird issue that some of our server says no Job within SLA period but when i check all the servers, all of them is completed within 14 days.is there an issue within the reporting because all of their backups is completing. our SLA is configured for 7 days but it says like that on the report.  

Customer made some changes to the Tipping point IPS device at their end; and all of a sudden the netapp intellisnap backup copies have started failing.  As per the customer, they do not see anything on the logs.   There are two netapp filers on the same network; backup copy on 1 is working while on another one it is failing.  The Logs just say “3880  924   08/18 11:34:52 5974838 NDMP ERROR[TSCNACLUSTER01] 9: DUMP: Error: Write to socket failed”and the NetApp vendor says they do not see any error at their end as well“I can see in the logs from the NetApp that the connection is made at 11:09am<LR d="18Aug2022 11:09:49" n="HSCNANODE01" t="1660777789" id="0/155572305395713" p="1" s="Ok" o="ndmpdc" vf="" type="1" seq="1964418" supp="1" ><ndmp_ctrl_on_e0m_1        lif_addr="192.168.0.54"        lif_port="e0M"/>But after this, there are no entries in the event log of the Netapp. This is the same on cluster 02 which is succeeding in backups.“ Commvault Logs :3880  924   08/18 11:31

I have a ticket open already (220822-723), but it seems like the Commvault Support team might be busy I haven’t heard from anyone all day, so I thought I’d put this hear so that search engines can get this error code as well; maybe help some other people.After my mediaagent’s index put itself in offline mode for a few days this weekend (went below my space threshold limit, I resolved that right away on Monday) I find that my Virtual Server Agent type clients and their subclients are unable to do any incremental backups.The commserve reports that it needs to do an index restore, so I check my mediaagent’s indexrestore.log file and every time (about once every six hours, it’s been attemping this) the log file reports the following:13708 32c8 08/23 16:48:59 102030 IDXRESTORE indexRestore executed for jobId 102030 commCell 2 appNumber 31 timeStamp 1660843841 snap-no silent-no13708 32c8 08/23 16:48:59 102030 JM Client CVJobClient::initialize(): Got remote host [commserve.mydomain.com].13

Hello team, Just wondering if OS security patching & reboot will break last vss full backup time string or any other thing could potential cause this type of failure ***mssql lives in Aazure and Last night differential backup were failing for all instances and gave a following error “Failed to get the last VSS/Snap full backup time string for database[XXXXX] and instance[XXXXX] ”Backup history shows the previous diff backup completed successfully on 21/Aug 10:30PM Observed the previous full backup completed successfully for both instances and instances have configured to use with VSS  server last reboot was on 20/Aug after OS security patching sqlida.log only shows error “Failed to get the last VSS full backup time string” no error in wins app/system event during the backup

Hello guys,is there a method, that allows me to rename the CommServe’s client name ?in previous Version (<SP16), I was able to do this during a DR Recovery. But this option seems to be removed from CSRecoveryAssistent.I now can modify the displayName instead, but most of the reports, as well as the MetricsServer, are still pointing to the clientName, which can be slightly confusing.I moved the CommServe to a different Domain, and the ClientName was matching the HostName, which is the FQDN of the CommServe.I’m using currently using FR22 for this environment.any hints wellcomeKlaus

Hello, I hope you are doing well.I need your valuable help.What should I do so that commvault only backs up the files in the root directory of a linux machine (HP-UX)?Example: in other backup software when using "/" it only recognizes that it is only for backing up the root directory, in commvault it backs up the whole machine, including files that are not necessary. thank you very much. :)

Background: We have added new storage arrays and are trying to clean up all the commvault data of the old ones. I know you can choose a mount point and ‘delete all data” but I would rather not force delete things this way if not necessary.  I would like to get a process in place where our subclients clean up data properly (or at least on purpose, as we want it to occur) as it appears we have quite a few subclients with incremental backups that the system will not auto clean up because they (per Data Forecast and Compliance Report) are not being cleaned up due to BASIC_CYCLES. Per my understanding, these are sticking around because the client was shut down before we could get another last “Full” backup (or similar, some of the subclients were descheduled or disabled, both of which are not allowing some cleanup to occur). Hello,I have tried to backup file server with block level option enabled.For each volume i have made subclient. Backup of the volume D seems OK.For the volume E. I have selected only 2 folders. Backup job has failed with error:Error Code: [57:327] Description: Found folder as content of subclient, which is not allowed for block level backups, Content [E:\0D\].I have dug into the logs and found the error:“CsFileSystemSnapshotBlockLevelBackup::AdjustBackupContentFromSnapshotContent(518) - Not adding [E:\] to snap content as corresponding Volume GUID [\\?\Volume{c6de5c3f-0367-4763-9870-c5af793ad98e}\] is already present in snap content” Any suggestions? Thank you in advance!

Hello, We have configured IntelliSnap and backup copy for a VM group, with the original snap residing in NetApp for 7 days/1 cycle and the backup copies residing in HyperScale for 30 days. The job is scheduled to run Daily incremental and weekly synthetic full. The incremental snapshots are being retained endlessly, as the retention is set to 7days/1 cycle and the volume is filling up. Now my questions:I understand that every snapshot created in Netapp is a full as it takes a snapshot of the active file system and marks all the active blocks at the time of the snapshot as read-only so that those blocks cannot be overwritten, so can I reset the snapshot retention to 7 days/0 cycle with the expectation that we will be able to restore the entire VM despite the base full Snapshot being aged off?I have seen intelli snapshot jobs fail owing to an existing backup copy job. Can we execute snapcopy jobs in parallel with backup copy jobs if the previous backup copy operations are delayed?The cus

Hello,I’m new to commvault so sorry if my question seems pretty ignorant. But we have Email Journaling/eDiscovery - but i’d like to move it to another media agent. I’s like to keep the index server and everything else in place..but just change the storage policy to point to a new media agent.Would it be best to just create a new storage policy and assign the media agent to the new policy or is there a way to just change the media agent on the ediscovery job?Thank you
