Hello all, Today, when I log to our Admin console from browser (I most time use commcell console), I got a notification for: “Service Pack Expiry”. When I go to details I got this pics: Its the last SP we have on our system, and the date of expiration is strange, 2019! Is this some bug or?Regards,

Hello,I am using a SQL on RHEL 8.2, have installed Commvault Filesystem and SQL agent 11.24 on it. [sqladmin@SQL82~]$ cat /etc/redhat-releaseRed Hat Enterprise Linux release 8.2 (Ootpa)[sqladmin@SQL82 ~]$ Have used sqladmin which has necessary sysadmin rights and added these under properties of SQL client however still unable to discover any DBs in the subclient. Any clue ? 

Hi All, we have an new installation of CV and we have started an very big netapp cifs backup. The Serverplan has an Operation window active where the client is asscociated.  What happend with the running job when we change the operation window ?

Hi Commvault-people, Our DBA’s are looking to implement SQL2019 across the board, and that will include our Commvault implementations. Although I can see it is supported, I can’t see from which Service Pack.We are currently on SP16. Does anyone know where I can find this information? Thanks

Hi,Our customer has MongoDB systems. Versions;Commvault version: 11.20.64MongoDB version: 4.4.4OS version: ubuntu 20.04I added MongoDB pseudo clients successfully. I took FULL backup manually from subclient. I created schedules for FULL and LOG backups.Oplog ScheduleIf I take full backup from subclient manually and run log backup from schedule, i took error like;Error Code: [7:247] Description: Failed to backup MongoDB oplog dumps. Submit FULL SNAP backup immediately to resync the oplog dumpsI try to take full backup from schedule and i took error on archive index phase;Please check the log files for this job for more details.I checked logs and i saw this error in MA’s archiveIndex.log;26120 44e8  09/06 09:18:41 10338926 Log Directory [D:\Commvault\IndexCache\CvIdxLogs\2\8F261E36-5EA5-4976-A70B-1D3FDD6F6F2E\J10338926_snap_skipCatalog] does not exist!, Setting Hard Indexing FailureI couldn’t find anything for this error. We have a major project that will be started.For various reasons some of our compute and applications will move to Azure Gov cloud.At the present we have two commcells serving the enterprise on prem.One of them contains backups for clients that need to move.There are Local libraries for primary and Azure Libraris (Commercial cloud) for secondary copies.Preferably being able to retain backups is desiered, at least the backups that exists in Azue.I know that clients can be migrated to a new comcell but the backup data isn't migrated.Anyone gone through something like this? If so how did you tackle the task.We have just started to plan out this change and is just throwing ideas around. BRHenke

Hello,I want to automate the maintenance mode to allow SCCM to patch the Media agents.We have a gridstor of 2 media agents that are used a lot.I want to script this part. put a media agent in maintenance mode.Get the confirmation that the MA is in maintenance mode.Allow SCCM administrators to patch the Windows  media agent.The SCCM Admin will reboot the MA.After that I disable the maintenance mode on the MA to allow it to take backups againCan you help me to get the correct command for the highlited lines please ? Thanks !

(Refer the attachment)Note: In Microsoft Authenticator, I can able  login using my own Domain account , but I couldn’t find any way to integrate with CommCell.  

Question: On a Windows cluster subclient when I change the performance setting to automatic use optimal number of readers and press ok it goes back to the Use data readers setting.We are using Commvault version 11.23.12Is this only going to be applied when we go to 11.24 ?   

Hi All,I have inherited a commvault setup where the retention policy is confusing me. An extended retention policy is in play: What i am noticing is that monthly end backups are being retained for 2190 days rather than 365 (example shown in screenshot), can anyone explain why?

Hi, I am reaching out here on behalf of a customer. It is about the vulnerability CVE 2021 36934 (“Hive Nightmare”) were Microsoft recommends to limit the access to \system32\config.https://msrc.microsoft.com/update-guide/vulnerability/CVE-2021-36934 Microsoft states there, that their workaround can impact third party backup solutions. That’s why the question came up if the workaround is applied if and how this could have an impact on VM and File System backups. This is the workaround:Restrict access to the contents of %windir%\system32\configCommand Prompt (Run as administrator): icacls %windir%\system32\config\*.* /inheritance:eWindows PowerShell (Run as administrator): icacls $env:windir\system32\config\*.* /inheritance:eDelete Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) shadow copies Delete any System Restore points and Shadow volumes that existed prior to restricting access to %windir%\system32\config. Create a new System Restore point (if desired).  

Hello Commvault Community,  I noticed a problem at the client, where when trying to generate a dump of the CommServe database, it does not generate it correctly. A file with the .bak extension is generated in its place.I would like to ask for help in solving the problem, it is a key element in environmental recovery (DR). Thanks for help,RegardsKamil

Hello Community We have two Commcells, one based here in the UK and one in the US.  The issue I have is I cannot use one email address to log calls in both environments.  It seems sub accounts do not have the ability to do this.  I spoke to support and they sent me this Sub-Account MANAGEMENT IN THE MAINTENANCE ADVANTAGE CUSTOMER SUPPORT PORTAL (commvault.com)  however there is no mention of merging accounts to use both CommCell’s.  This was something that our account manager said could be done. Alas, Im struggling to see how this is done, as I get this message when ting to create a new sub account and get this message on the US Commcell Please be advised that e-mail addresses must be unique to each contact. If you are looking to add a contact with the e-mail address Tony.Queen@aggreko.co.uk to your account because they are not listed in your Sub-Account Management page, this means that this e-mail address has already been used to create a Maintenance Advantage account and that account

Is it possible to get a history of all the backups commvault has carried on a client out since it was configured? even the pruned/aged jobs?

Has anyone experimented with the “Automatically use optimal number of data readers”?I set this on some test SubClients and it is defaulting to 1 regardless of what the manual setting is. This results in jobs taking dramatically longer? Does anyone know how the readers are optimised?Why does it default to 1 regardless of the starting position?

We have a need to restore from HNAS backups.  Currently the only way to restore is via a share path to its original destination.  With our subclients having many shares as its content, what is the best way of performing large capacity restores, (TBs)?

For existing clients on where you push out application/database agents afterwards you most of the time have to run the cvpkgchg command to replace the permissions. In case of a push installation via the CommCell console you have a possibility to enable to option "Override Unix Group And Permissions”.https://documentation.commvault.com/11.24/expert/1935_changing_unix_groups_and_permissions_on_unix_clients.htmlThis checkbox is not present in Command Center (https://documentation.commvault.com/11.24/essential/127715_adding_database_server_for_sybase.html). Does this mean that it will do it automatically? My assumption is that it only works for new push installation not for scenarios in where client the client computer is already equipped with a restore-only client.
