Hellogood day. my first post here.i am unable to discover my Media Agent from my Commserve and it seems like the only “client” affected by this. obviously this has disrupted backup jobs of other clients. these are the things I have confirmed to be working:I can ping the servers interchangeably.i can RDP into both servers from the other.traceroute also was positive. i have disabled local firewall on both servers. So there aren’t any ports being blocked. From the console, the media agent readiness check failed, and the repositories are offline.a Cvping across on both servers Via ports 8400 and 8403 were successful. What could have gone wrong here?I need help.

Question on pre-installed SQL server To be Use Only by CommvaultI would like to ask anyone who has installed Commvault Commserver with the SQL server, SQL Management studio preinstalled prior.I have a couple of questions/concern:1.  Will this impact the use of CS recovery assistant tool?2.What do I need to do to ensure/configure that CS recovery assistant will have no problem working if I ever need to use it?3.  What do I need to ensure/configure to ensure that the DR backup will function as is with this kind of setup?Any thoughts, tips and magic tricks you can suggest. 

Dear Commvault,We have a requirement for Oracle DB backup with wallet.I checked from documentation that Commvault can automatically backup the wallet during the database backup.So, I assume that restore process, for database and wallet, will be also automatically from Commvault wizard.But, what about in case of RMAN restore from a DBA?How will be able to restore the database without having the wallet?Please for your feedback,Nikos

Hi,I have a case about backing up and Restoring the emojis we use in the Microsoft teams chats. The documantation states that it is possible but as far as i know, i can only restore video, sound, images, gifs, stickers and also emojis that is on the phone keyboard, which is accesible on mobile  - not the ones that are on the microsoft teams interface-It is visible to see that commvault has received the message data that has the emoji but i cannot see it. It is only a blank message blob.

I checked these jobs again on the secondary copy (for tapes) where Extended Retention is, but for BigDataApps there is no job with Extended Retention. In addition, I checked each JobID separately and the "Retain Until" and "Retained by" columns have N/A, in Job Details the "Job Retention" tab is greyed out. For all these tasks to let them work i delete the aged job manually.

Hello all!I am wondering if there is a way to check “storage” on servers, which are a part of backup in Commvault.Reason: In our company - we as a backup team does not have direct access to hosts, and sometimes it took ages to find someone responsible for server to do some checks…Quesion:If there is File System agent installed on server - is there a way to check things like “total size, consumed space, free space”? On both Linux and Windows machines?It would help us a lot, especially while restoring out of place DBs.I am asking because i have found that Oracle agent is doing some checks while preparing restore:I have like thousands of ideas how it could improve our quality of work...Any ideas?Thanks! 

we are trying to start a backup for a subclient with editing the advance option under media tab and changing retention for primary job to different retention. backup is completed but it shows us the retention of the storage policy only not the one we have changed it.how to make backup use retention we set in manual backup advance option and not using the retention form storage policy.

After i de-configure the old library and move the orphaned media to the new library?

Hi All, since 2 Days we are getting a lot of tickets from customers regarding the sharepoint online backup: Error code: [27:364]Description: Failed to validate any of the configured Azure Apps against the SharePoint Tenant Admin site. 1) Please verify the SharePoint Tenant Admin Url. 2) Please check the credentials and permissions for the configured apps. 3) Please ensure Custom App authentication is enabled on the SharePoint tenant. The verify works and the apps shown as registratded but under service accounts i have an issue is there an known issue ?

Good dayIf you have a pseudo client setup (MondoDB) with the nodes listed in the configuration, is it possible to generate a report against that pseudo client which will then show the list of nodes that form part of it?A customer is interested in this type of information so that it can be pulled into a 3rd part report.

Hi Community,how can I update the index status of the Exchange Online Agent?I have currently an Index status of April 10.  When I initiate a mailbox restore, only mails up to April 10 are displayed.  Is it possible to refresh manually the Index Status from the Exchange Online Agent? best regards,Andreas

Hello Commvault Community, We are running 11.32.35, right now we have around 70 VMs with Windows and Linux operating systems. We also have a single Media Agent running RHEL.To backup Windows-based VMs, do we need to deploy Windows MA or can we leverage it with existing RHEL MA? Then what about the VSA, is it also has to be windows-based? Please suggest.

I am trying to find a solution in the scheduler to keep my monthly backups in one weekend.At the moment my monthly backups are configured to run the first Saturday and the first Sunday, but these two days aren’t always in the same weekend.How do I adapt the scheduler to select the monthly fulls from the same weekend?
