Hi All,Post upgrading CV to 11.32.43 we are frequently seeing below error. Please let me know if there is a fix for it. Error occurred while processing chunk [] in media [], at the time of error in library [SQL_Prod_Catalyst_Log_B003_SRC] and mount path [ CV_SQL_Prod_Log_SRC], for storage policy [SQL_Prod_Tier1_Logs] copy [SecCopy_P002_New] MediaAgent []: Backup Job []. Target Media encountered error. Error Code: [13:244]Description: [Media write operation failure] [HP-StoreOnce media] [Error writing to the media.] Once backup reinitiated backup gets completed. 

Hi All,We have a HSX Storage Pool that completes backups for an OnPrem VMWare Environment. In this scenario, our HSX Environment completes backups through SAN and HotAdd Proxies.When running a Subclient backup, VMs will use their perspective proxies, though 1 HSX node is always the Media Agent for all child VMs jobs.Does the above imply that data written to the Hedvig Library is only using that HSX Node’s physical disks for the first point write? I may be fundamentally misunderstanding the storage technology, though my assumption is that each node would write to its local disk with the hblock process handling it from there. In this scenario, are we therefore only using a % of the total spindles for direct writes, or is that simply not how Hedvig works that this is not a concern?In the same line-of-thinking, would this also apply to the Network data flow and is all traffic is being routed through the 1 node, and therefore limiting the maximum throughput for a single subclient.If the abo

I’m trying to recover a Linux 1-touch backup via Interactive mode of the lastest 11.34 media kit for Linux into dissimilar hardware (different disk config). After disk validation of the WebAdmin interface I get an error “Fail to format/partition disks”.On partinfo.log I see this:fdisk shows: My WebAdmin reconfig:I’m running Commcell 11.34.26, and before when I was on .22 I was able to do this same restore succesfully Any ideas?

User has a Microsoft file cluster with two nodes. VMs in a vmware environment.It was not possible to back up the VMs through standard Commvault VM backup due to “shared virtual drives”.I thought, well there is a file cluster feature in Commvault, we can use that.User says: Oh what about if we need to restore a node, then we would have to reconfigure everything?I say, don’t worry, because we have 1-touch recovery.As I said that, I wondered - do we really have 1-touch for file cluster? I went to another similar file cluster job and tried the 1-touch, and it says there are no system state backups.. so no 1-touch.This means I need to run the Commvault regular file backup on both nodes, as this allows me to backup system state and run 1-touch if needed. Correct?

I understand that Commvault supports Azure SQL Managed Instance. However, I am unable to locate the documentation that specifies whether Azure Arc-enabled SQL Managed Instance on Azure Stack HCI is supported or not. Could you please provide the link to this documentation if it is available?Additionally, could you clarify the following:Does Commvault support Azure Arc-enabled SQL Managed Instance? If not currently supported, will it be supported in an upcoming release? 

Hi All,I have few doubts on File System RecoveryIt is stated in the documentation that, we need to collect necessary information like System Information before disaster recovery.If we have backups in place, Is it mandatory to collect such information to recover the Full System using File System backups?Because we are not sure when the disaster occurs.For example, if my system is having Windows 19 OS and it was crashed suddenly, and I don’t have information about patches installed, but I have Full File System backups inplace with System State.Can I restore the Full Server by building a new Server with same OS with latest patches? Documentation referred:Rebuilding the Windows Operating System (commvault.com) Regards,Sravan Kondeti

Hello Community, usually we use LDAP for daily admin usage.For security porpuse i want to use a local user for Master because i dont trust the AD.Since i also trust exchange i would like to disable the ability to reset the local master-users Passwort via Email. Is there an additional setting to get rid of this? RegardsJacob

Hello Commvault Community,I have an issue with Large VMware Backup with Commvault. VM size is around 1.6 TB, I have also enabled “File system and application consistent” for the VM.The backup has been successful, but at the removing snapshot process VM is stuck/hang and VM will go offline from the networks perspective and be in a snapshot removal state, pretty much unusable. I have to reset the VM manually.Here what we have : VSA : Win2016 11.32.35Transport Type : HotAddMA : RHEL 11.32.35 Please suggest.

I have a Commvault Commserver environment v11.28.115.  When I installed Commvault Commserver it initially had v11.28.32 but then I had to update the Commvault software and deployed Maintenance release 115 on top.   Then I was about to deploy the Commserve failover package using the Media Kit v11.28.32 but then it complained that the existing Commvault software is higher than the kit I was trying to install.How can I integrate the Maintenance release 115 in my installation process such that when I initiate the install of Commvault failover package using the v11.28.32 Media Kit the installation also recognizes the existence  maintenance release 115 from the installation Note the Full Media Kit v11.28.32 and Maintenance release 115 are two separate kit. The latter not the full installer but just updatesAny help is appreciated

I was cleaning up some old reports in the Web Console and accidentally deleted the Audit Trail report template. How do I go about recreating that?

We have a windows vmware environment using intellisnap v11.30. There are 3 clustered ESX hosts. and just a couple of VMs. I am trying to do a full VM restore test, however the jobs fail because one of the three ESX hosts are down. During the restore, I select a different ESX host, but the restore error shows CV trying to connect to the ESX host that is down. Is there any way around this? Why is it trying to contact the ESX host that is down despite the fact I ask it to use another ESX host?Error code 91:73 Connection to VM Host <host that is down> has been lost. Please verify the VM hosting services are still running.  

i am following the below link for splitting commserv and media agent , where commserv to a new machine and keepin exising commserv as only media agent ,i moved the DDB using config only option to second instance MA , since the dedup is in same server and location reachable to new MAonce the spliitt is finished media agent and library is online but i am getting below error

Sql always on Full backup being taken from primary server but  log backup being taken  from standby server at every 15 minutes .Job finished succesfully  but.This  causes problems in log shrink and sql log folder overgrowing How do I ensure that the log backup is taken from the Primary SQL. server

Just as example with a daily full backup to keep it simple…In case you have a 4 days retention, but the backup keeps failing for a week, will all backup data still be there? Or will it all be expired? Thanks :) Maurice

Hellogood day. my first post here.i am unable to discover my Media Agent from my Commserve and it seems like the only “client” affected by this. obviously this has disrupted backup jobs of other clients. these are the things I have confirmed to be working:I can ping the servers interchangeably.i can RDP into both servers from the other.traceroute also was positive. i have disabled local firewall on both servers. So there aren’t any ports being blocked. From the console, the media agent readiness check failed, and the repositories are offline.a Cvping across on both servers Via ports 8400 and 8403 were successful. What could have gone wrong here?I need help.

Question on pre-installed SQL server To be Use Only by CommvaultI would like to ask anyone who has installed Commvault Commserver with the SQL server, SQL Management studio preinstalled prior.I have a couple of questions/concern:1.  Will this impact the use of CS recovery assistant tool?2.What do I need to do to ensure/configure that CS recovery assistant will have no problem working if I ever need to use it?3.  What do I need to ensure/configure to ensure that the DR backup will function as is with this kind of setup?Any thoughts, tips and magic tricks you can suggest. 

Dear Commvault,We have a requirement for Oracle DB backup with wallet.I checked from documentation that Commvault can automatically backup the wallet during the database backup.So, I assume that restore process, for database and wallet, will be also automatically from Commvault wizard.But, what about in case of RMAN restore from a DBA?How will be able to restore the database without having the wallet?Please for your feedback,Nikos

Hi,I have a case about backing up and Restoring the emojis we use in the Microsoft teams chats. The documantation states that it is possible but as far as i know, i can only restore video, sound, images, gifs, stickers and also emojis that is on the phone keyboard, which is accesible on mobile  - not the ones that are on the microsoft teams interface-It is visible to see that commvault has received the message data that has the emoji but i cannot see it. It is only a blank message blob.

I checked these jobs again on the secondary copy (for tapes) where Extended Retention is, but for BigDataApps there is no job with Extended Retention. In addition, I checked each JobID separately and the "Retain Until" and "Retained by" columns have N/A, in Job Details the "Job Retention" tab is greyed out. For all these tasks to let them work i delete the aged job manually.
