Hello Commvault Community,I hope everyone is doing well. I recently purchased a Commvault license, but unfortunately, I made a mistake when entering the serial number during the activation process. As a result, I am unable to proceed with activation because the serial number I entered does not match the one registered on the CommServer.I would greatly appreciate any assistance or guidance on how to resolve this issue. Thank you in advance for your help!Best regards,

How does a customer determine the MS SQL Version that is currently in use on the Commserve? Customer would like to check the version to determine if an upgrade is needed.

Hello Guys :)  @large environments: How do you monitor (proactive) CommVault - CommServe, MediaAgents, xAgents, Jobs, Logs, Dedup Engine/Performance, Alerts, Reports, ... and so on? I've used Nagios with checkmk. But what is the current  "state of the art"? Buzzword AI. For example, I like how Azure is handling all the metrics, and can solve some problems by itself or can give you useful informations, can trigger events/processes, can "learn” - and for example, can create trouble tickets or something similar. Which tool makes your life easier? Grafana? Excited about your feedback(s) :). Cheers!

Hello,we have customer with SAP Installation based on DB2 which on Netapp NFS Storage.We would like to use Intellisnap Snapshot function with DB2 and NFS Volumes.If I check the Intellisnap Matrix :https://documentation.commvault.com/snap/#/storage_check?fq.EngineName=NetApp&fq.protocolName=NFS&fq.AgentName=DB2Intellisnap is not supported with NFS & DB2.Is this still correct - because in general it is supported why not with NFS or is there any newer information which I missed.Thanks for a short update here.Thx & BRMarcel

Hi all, I have a short question.We are planning to back up our four Exchange DAG-Cluster. The CommServe and MediaAgents are in different VLANs (subnet) as the Exchangeserver/DAG-IP are.For sure, I have to create a firewall rule for the communication between  CS/MA and the Exchangeserver (where the iDA is installed). But the question is, do I also need to create a firewall rule for communication (8400/8403) between the CS/MA and the IP address of the DAG-IP logical object? Many thanks in advance!Skoomer

Hi all, is it possible to age/reset the password for a commvault user immediately?I only find the possibility to set the age value to ‘1’. ‘0’ is not allowed I think…So is there a way to force the user to enter a new password with the next login like a domain user with the option “User must change password at next logon”?Many thanks and regardsSkoomer

Hello Commvault Community, Environment version: SP32I am now testing the 1-touch procedure for Laptops with Win10 Pro. The 1-touch process itself runs successfully, but I noticed that it doesn’t collect Commvault directories, so the machine was recreated using the 1-touch mechanism without the entire Commvault structure (C:\Program Files\Commvault\ContentStore is empty, there are no binaries there). I checked whether it was collecting data at the very beginning of the first Full Backup and the answer is - it isn’t collecting it. Backup is performed on the default subclient, so "/" is indicated in Content, which says that everything that can be backed up using the FS agent will be protected, but this doesn’t happen. Backup System State is also enabled, I haven't added any filters. The only thing that worries me is the fact that this is a newly created Backupset, because when a laptop is recognized as a Laptop, it is assigned

While accessing the partner university site I receive the following error and the “Click Here to find the possible solution for this error” page doesn’t help. The other topics related to this problem don’t give a solution except commvault employees doing something. Who would I need to contact to get this fixed?

Hello -  Windows environment Commvault 11.28.107.For a vcenter client Im having a difficulty in trying to filter VMs by an IP range.   Is this even possible.  Thanks in advance 

Command center dashboard is not displaying and showing errors. I turned off firewall and still giving the same error. it doesn’t matter if I access the command center from the server or different workstation, results are the same. Commvault server is virtualized if that info is any helpful   

I have a question from our storage administrator that I think I know the answer to but would like to confirm.  Is there a way to backup data and have the original/source data deleted?  We use Isilon for our storage and we would like to back up the data to a Primary target, but have the original data deleted afterward (I guess the Isilon doesn’t have a native tool to delete large amounts of data).  The only option I know of would be to run a post-process script, but is there any other options that I am unaware of?Thanks!

we are configuring a development environment for our commserve software testing 2 virtual machines running on fast storage Let’s call them (commserv01-dev.company.au & commserv02-dev.company.au) with livesync option installed. Hello Commvault Community,  After upgrading the enviroment version from SP24 to SP28, there was a problem with the mechanism for VMware LiveSync. For the SP28 version, information about tags is collected, through which they are replicated/recovered with tags, which we must avoid because we don’t want such a situation. Is it possible to disable this ? Cause its automatically adding to next backup and I'm doubling the resources Thanks,Kamil

Hello, I often have this error on the aux copies, someone has such an idea where it comes from  Error occurred while processing chunk [24954781] in media [V_905802], at the time of error in library [DL1-BNR] and mount path [[XXX03001] F:\], for storage policy [SP-XXX-Servers] copy [YYY] MediaAgent [CCCC]: Backup Job [3886019]. Unable to send the stop data transfer control message to the tail. .

I’m going to guess nobody has contemplated this unless they’ve been with Commvault for eons, but here’s the situation and end-state goal:We have been archiving files on a couple 2 node clusters running on RHEL for years. The cluster consists of multiple virtual clients(each per application group) and the nodes participating in the cluster use the sVCS_SUPPORT reg key to know there’s plugins and such, and to know who owns what. As part of “reducing complexity”, costs, etc., we need or prefer to remove the clustering components.The HW and OS’s are obsolete so migrating the apps and data to new systems but retaining identical names and IP’s. Archiving works well so want to keep stubs as stub if at all possible.The new (destination) servers have new OS’s and no Veritas at all.Rather than rehydrate/recall all the stubbed content, is it possible to simply shutdown old systems, bring up new, and if the new hosts have the same hostname as the old

I realise that here in the UK we start daylight savings later than they do in the US, but has anybody else experienced any problems with it? Over the weekend, the majority of our commserves running 11.32 saw a large number (between 40 and 60) SQL Server processes killed within 10 minutes of the start of British Summer Time. This largely went unnoticed as far as the Commvault event log was concerned, although one of them did log a couple of 19:152 errors. This only happened on the commserves running 11.32 - all the ones running 11.24 saw no spids killed. I’ve opened a support case, but was wondering if anybody whose clocks changed last week could check their commserve’s SQL Server errorlog for me for the period immediately after the clocks changed (between 02:00 and 02:10 on 31st March for those in the UK).ThanksNeil 

Hey Guys!Currently we have all our HS X Nodes, one Library, in one Data Center. Now the customer wants the backuped data also available on a secon site, where they want to build up a second HS X cluster, if DC 1 is down, all backup data is available in DC 2. Solution 1, warm standby:How can i push the protected data to the 2nd HS X Cluster besides running Aux copies? Is maybe a CV HS X Feature on the backend for that solution available?Problems with Solution 1: The HSX Nodes are mostly idling, and the primary Cluster has to do all the workloads. Solution 2, striped/cloned HS X Cluster:The HS X Workloads are striped over DC 1 and DC 2, and all protected data has to be available on both sides. Benefit: We can distribute all Workloads over more HS X Nodes.So does exist some kind of (Hedvig) Storage Data replication, to sync two HS X Libraries?Or what solutions would you recommend as the “best” in this case?

do we have any report/SQL table represents the Tape drive utilization every hour of the day/week? Found a SQL table dbo.MMDriveHistory with data written & duration but how does commvault calculate tape drive Throughput from this table?

Hi,Running CV 11.32.6 on prem.We’re trying to install the MSSQL Agent from Commvault. We managed to get to 90% and then it failes. Reviewing the log for the job doesn’t give us any leads. Hi Team, I have written a script that would delete the decommissioned VMs from the commvault. I have 2 questions.As of now my script takes the client id manually to delete the VM. I would want Commvault to detect the decommissioned VM and delete it. Please guide me on how can I add auto detect of decommissioned VMs on my script.  I have to integrate Morpheus API and Commvault API and execute the script from the Jump server from where Morpheus is accessible. As of now, Commvault APIs are running only from Commvault server. How to do this ?
