Hi everyone, I have live sync enabled between two comm cells “Active and Passive”. DB maintenance haven’t run since around 2 years. the workflow is disabled unfortunately.  I need to run the command dbmaintenance -full on the active server. Shall I disable the live sync before running the command? Do I need to run the same command on the passive commcell server as well? Thanks in advance

Hello,We want to make Hardware Refresh for Media Agent.After install new Media Agent on new server with Windows Server 2019 Standard everything goes well. In CommServe MA is ready.After add LUNs from disk storage for bakups still everything goes well.But after add LUNs from other disk storage with VMFS datastores, MA goes offline in CommServe with offline reason:"The MediaAgent if offline is initialising and refreshing the device information"And this state cannot be repaired with:- reboot system and services- repair software- delete LUNs with VMFS datastores and after that all of aboveOnly after deleteed LUNs with VMFS datastores, full delete MA and new installation, MA gone ready.But if we again adding LUNs with VMFS datastores, MA goes offline again. Selective copy - Last Full backup Of the Month to be selected for Aux copyExample: for the month of march, scheduled Monthly Full backup is at March 31st 11:30PM, somehow if this backup get failed, as per below selective copy logic.. it will select the previous[March 23rd/24/25/26/27/28/29/30th ...etc] Full backup as Monthly backup.But actually, If the Full backup failed on 31st March… i need a logic for monthly backup as next/ subsequent Full backup to be taken as Monthly Backup [i.e ...April 1st/2nd/3rd …. Full backup]?How to get this logic?  

Hello,We are running commvault 11.28.52 and currently testing the PostgtreSQL Agent. In our testing environment, we have two PostgreSQL 12 Servers running as a cluster with one Primary active server and one standby server. The servers are Linux-based VMs.We are performing backups and restores from the primary server. However, every time we restore the DB from the FSBasedBackupSet, the replication between the nodes stops working. What are the Best Practices for FsBased cluster restore and how to perform restore correctly from this backupset?

The process of setting retention to half what is actually required, combined with the periodic sealing of the DDB seems clunky, and results in significantly higher storage usage - can we expect any improvements to that process?Where an existing block is referenced during an operation, could it be more efficient to just extend the Object Lock retention for the associated S3 Object?

Hi Team,i request you to help me with below error i observed during my 7 x Apollo server HSX installation in DC1 site. i downloaded the ISO from commvault site to my local system and transferred to DC2 windows jump server and successfully installed in DC2 site on 7 x HPE Apollo Servers .Later i transferred the ISO to DC1 jumb server and also have verified that all HW configurations in DC1 servers are as per HSX documentation, but when i start installation on HPE apollo servers, i get below error, please help !

Hello, I tried to achieve incremental backup on object storage bucket s3.There is a lifecycle rules applied on this s3 bucket.The first full backup was achieved successfuly but incremental failed.It is seem to be due to lifecycle rules or not, if someone have explanation and how to fix these issue. Description: Backup failed for all files, job will not be marked as completed successfullySource: S3-***-prd, Process: CvCloudBkpi did not see anything in logs to confirm the reason why the incremental backup failed. Thanks for your help. Regards.Karim

Hi all. I’m curious to know what speed others see when doing a Vmware NBD restore.Hardware, configuration ect. is not important, just want to know the speed, as I do not know if my restore speed is fast or slow.I get around 450Gb/h when restoring a single server via NBD. What do you get? Thanks-Anders

Ensure that the Operating System and SQL Server version (including feature releases) are identical in the both the production and standby hosts. Could install and setup HA Active / Standby in one Windows 2022 Standard and one Windows 2022 Data Center? Best regards 

Are there any issues with creating a Secondary Copy for a Plan via the CommCell Console, with the intent of promoting that copy to Primary?For whatever reason, the Plan isn’t correctly listed within Command Center, and as such I am concerned about causing further issues if attempting the change via Command Center. Plans are terrible.

Dear Team, We currently have a production CommServer running V11 SP 28, while laptop/desktop backups are operating on a lower version, V11 SP 24. With over 5000 laptop/desktop agents requiring an upgrade, we seek assistance in downloading the necessary packages and deploying them via SCCM without creating new instances. Your guidance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.Furthermore, we have observed multiple duplicate instances appearing for each machine. We are keen to remove or delete these duplicates without impacting the existing backup configurations. Could you please provide instructions on how to achieve this effectively? Regards,ManiD

hi guys, i decided, that i move my infrastrucutre backup from veeam to the commvault.  i have around 125 VM on VMware cluster ( 5 esx nodes). i the veeam i have a one bakcup job, after sucessfull backup the data is copied to the secondary location and every sunday is full backup (synthetic full) copied to the tape (Quantum Scalar i3 with 2x LTO 8 drives).  now i looking for a right way, how to migrate/move to the Commvault. I have already prepared a two physical servers, one is for the commcell and second is for media-agent (direct attached iSCSI 10 GbE 80 TB NTFS and 2x FC 8 GB to tape library.  i wanna to some best-practice :) its enought to have one VSA proxy in vmware or is best-practice to have on every esx host the proxy ?  from some years ago i know the commcell console, but now is only html5 console ?  how to setup the tape jobs and backup copy ? - aux copy its possible to create some tape media pool ?  its better to have a one backup job for all vm or separate it for app, app/

The evening of Friday April 6, I upgraded my CommVault installation from 11.32.38 to 11.34.20. Following the upgrade (which required reboots of almost all the client computers), the Friday evening backups seems to be running normally.  When I returned to work on Monday morning I have roughly 300 Alert emails regarding “unusual job activity” on various servers.  Weirdly, some of the alerts say zero files have been changed:Anomaly NotificationAn unusual job activity was detected in Job [751258], type [Root Size Change]. Details: Unusual number of file operations in client [INF-SQLP104] - created files: [0], deleted files: [0], modified files: [0], root size change of [0.00] GBDoes anyone know what the problem is and how to stop all this spam? Hello everyone,I am currently facing a problem:Backup for a large CIFS volume (> 50 TB! on NetApp) should run as follows:1. backup as incremental via SnapShot on productive filer several times a day2. transfer the SnapShots via snapvault to a backup NetApp via snapvault (aux copy)so far no problem ... then:3. backup of the last incremental SnapShot of the week from the backup Netapp to S3 (with DDB) and then synthetic full to get a new full again.-> This is possible in principle as the backup is incremental but a snapshot always contains everything. This means that only the diff of this last snapshot to the last synthetic full has to be backed up and this is only approx. 2 - 3 TB per week.4. once a quarter backup of the last (synthetic) full from S3 to tape (regulation) … no problem as well Unfortunately, Backup Copy ignores all incremental backups wif I use selection rules (even with “Apply selection rule for snap jobs” selected).
