Hi team,Getting the below error even though the Subclient has been deleted:  What are the right steps to get a mount path removed and its associated Storage pool and policy deleted?When I tried to delete it from the Storage pools, got the below error:  on reviewing the logs, found the below entries:  

Hi all,We have Pure as a primary storage. Using CommVault (via IntelliSnap) we backup data from it (Snap Copy). Then we mount snapshots to Media Agent (MA) and perform backup copy (Primary) from snapshots to our primary backup storage - which is NetApp (NA1). We have another similar NetApp in different location (NA2).Question - is it possible to create additional backup copy from Primary copy using SnapMirror\SnapVault?It is possible to create additional Snapshot Copy but you have to use NetApp as a primary storage. Which is not a case.So we want to have second backup copy (NA2) and it should be available as a source for restore for clients. And we don’t want to utilize our MAs and network when NetApps can do everything themselves.

Hi guys,is there a way to use a web proxy to backup Exchange/Sharepoint/Onedrive Online ?since only https connections are used, it should be possible to forward backup requests to a web proxy instead of place am AccessNode in the DMZ.I cannot find any hints for that in BOLBRKlaus 

Hello,I’m curious if anyone has encountered the issue of decoding the status codes for vms and other api endpoints for protection status.  For example:"vmStatus": 1 I know these typically are 1-6 but could commvault support provide a mapping for each of these to help us determine what this means for protection status? Also, if it differs for vm clients to db clients, what should I expect from those as well? PS - I did see this topic /webconsole/api/v2/MediaAgents status and offlineReason codes and it was close to what I was looking for but this was for MediaAgents where I’m specifically concerned with VMs and DBs

We have configured in AWS, RDS snapshot backups.  We need a way to get the Snapshot copied to our s3 bucket.What is the best way to perform this task automatically?  a Best Practice or White Paper would be great. ThanksChuck  

Recently our system administrator have changed the root password of one of the linux servers. the readiness status of the server becomes [Not Ready] with message is [Communication failure between Client xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx and the MediaAgent xxxx.xxx.com. Error returned is:Connection failed. What could be the reason behind this issue? is it network related issue or root password changing issue? 

Hello!Can anyone tell me which logs I should start with when troubleshooting the issue that cache won’t update? this is an MS365 Exchange Online backup job.Should I use the logs on the index/access node or the commserve server, or both, and what are the logs called?I am not getting a “wrong password” error, and I have checked that MFA is disabled for the service account.

Hi,the customer wants to backup some clients through a gateway. We did the configuration of gateway client and network topology.The main problem is that the customer wants only Commserve to communicate with clients through proxy. Backup was failing because there was no communication to media agent as the customer picked only myCommserve group in the network topology. So we did share paths from media agent to the Commserve. It was still failing because the client couldn’t reach DDB on media agent. So then we have changed deduplication from ‘On Client’ to ‘on Media Agent’. Now the buckup is running but never ends. It stucked on 25%.  Can we configure backup through a proxy but allow only Commserve to communicate with the client by using share mount paths to Commserve?If not is there any other way to meet customers requirements? Regards,Lukasz

Hi Team, I have an issue with an intended Unix client install.Filesystem agent only. We unfortunately have port 8400 occupied by other software, so I need to install to a different port.However, I don’t see where i can over-ride 8400 with my intended port. And for whatever reason, I can no longer find detailed instructions on the Unix\Linux install process.I’m not a Unix admin, so probably like quite a few of us, it would be helpful if there was more detail on available options. Bottom line, can someone advise how, or where I can provide a different port during a local install (I have a Unix tech available to assist). Thanks

Hi Everyone,Currently we are making traditional backups from HS to HS (Primary - Secondary Copy).We added an extra Cloud Library as AGC location as mentioned in the picture below.GoalThe AGC NEEDS to finish within 24 hours contains File System + SQL Agents that were backed up from the last 24 hours on the Disk Libraries.ObservationFrom the {Secondary to AGC} it seems that new bckjobs are not picked up after the aux copy started.Example: If bckjob 1-4 contains 10TB of data, commvault waits until these ones are finished and then will pick up the next bckjobs while some Media Agents in the Cloud Library are doing less work.ConclusionThe {Secondary to AGC} takes to much time (+/- 48 hours), after the Full Backups are finished in the weekends on the Disk Libraries. It does NOT meet the requirements.Questions1. Are my observations correct if yes, how to tune it?2. Any other options to meet the requirements?

So we utilize qlogin to execute various scripts, but at times members of our backup team run into an issue where they see this error message if someone is currently logged in: Error 0x23f: Another user to the same commserver has already logged in, please logout from that and then retry. Instead of running a qlogout -all command, is there an easy way to verify who the currently logged in user is?

Here is the form activity.  Now here is the logs…SetActivityInputs: starting activity with inputs [<inputs><request><method>POST</method><postType>Form</postType><postContent /><postContentType>application/json; charset=UTF-8</postContentType><headers><name>Accept</name><value>application/json</value></headers><headers><name>Authorization</name><value /></headers></request></inputs>]As you can see the value for authorization is empty. The variable is set, but no matter what I do it refuses to honor it.

Hello,I have added two snapshots here that show the setup before and after the .net update. The problem I have is that the web server no longer works after the update. That's why I wanted to ask if I need to update anything besides the hosting bundle to get the web server up and running again. Even restarting Tomcat or iisreset didn't help after the update. RegardsThomas installed .net package “Hosting Bundle” before Update .Net after Update

So, I have a single storage policy with a copy that has data aging (turned on) and basic retention after 1096 days, 1 cycle.  The copy writes to tapes.Based on this chart: Identifying Media Icons (commvault.com) the tapes are ageing and then being flagged as “Aged Media” and then eventually (I guess) “Aged Retired Media”. and it seems like from there, the tapes are not showing (in the individual tape status) they are unusable (full, broken, etc), just they seem to sit there and not be used any more, and they are empty (0 bytes showing, view→ contents = no contents shown).I’ve never done it, but it looks like I can manually click on the tape and right click → options → mark media reuseable and it will… mark it as completely free and useable again (or does it still tie it to the storage policy that wrote to it)?  I’m not sure if this is the “recommended” way to do it, or if there was a way to automatically flag these (like when aged makes it 0 bytes) so it makes it re-useable again when

I had a remote sight with with bandwidth issues recently upgraded. Will I need to restart the jobs copying to that sight in order to take advantage of the bandwidth throttling options being set back to automatic?

Hi together, I am planning a MediaAgent that has enough storage capacity to be my disk storage. Deduplication should be active, it is Back-end Size for Disk Storage Small (Up to 50TB).Are there any recommendations or requirements regarding the RPM of the backup disks? I did not find anything in the CommVault documentation, only the RPM recommendation for the OS/software disk.Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello Is there a way to tell Commvault that the “Full” database backup in a plan should be a real Full, and not an Differential backup.I know that I can add an additional Full backup, but  I want the default full backup to be a true Full Backup  

Have a customer who configured NDMP with FSXn.  Backups complete but are slow.  While attempting to find documentation related to this process I came across this preso from CPR2023 where its explicitly stated we dont support NDMP.  BOL also doesnt show NDMP as supported yet the customer has this functioning at least successfully. So question is, do we are dont we support NDMP for FSXn?Link with supported agents showing CIFS and NFS but not NDMP.https://documentation.commvault.com/2023e/expert/157291_supported_agents_for_amazon_fsx_for_netapp_ontap.html
