Hello, everyone.I need your support.For the past week the "Metallic" backup when doing a Syntethic Full gives this error: "Index server is disabled on the Media agent [service_2019].Source: cms01102c1eu06, Process: StartSynthFull". I restarted the MediaAgent "service_2019" but the problem is still there.I ask for your help, how can I solve it?Thank youCarmine

We are trying to only use the content indexing (meta data in documents) feature, not the backups, and I was tasked with setting this up.  When looking into the documentation it looks like a backup is required since the content indexing is done “offline” on the backup.  I’m just looking for confirmation that a backup is required and that there is no other way to use the content indexing feature without a backup. I tried asking support but they didn’t want to answer and told me to contact my Account Manager who hasn’t replied to any emails or phone calls.  Hoping somebody here can answer this question so we can figure out if we need to find another solution or to go ahead with the install.

Dear Community,I need a report at the beginning of each month for the sum of the "Application Size", independent of "Application Type" and "SubClient", of Clients within a "Client Group" from the previous month.I have tried to find out the information using the report "Backup job summary", but I only get the sizes per job and not per client.Which report can I use to map my requirements?Can someone help me?Thanks a lot!

Hi All, There are some posts around this topic but none I could see directly apply.Running 11.28 we have plan that backs up a large system - once a week - that generally takes days to run in order to get the primary copy to disk.Once this is completed one of the AuxCopy jobs is to send this to a Cloudian destination as non-deduplicated data into buckets that are utilising object-lock WORM type functionality.The retention is the same for the Primary and Cloudian copies (14 days).What seems to happen is that when the retention period of the Primary job has been fulfilled I can see that the media agent is attempting to clean up the objects from Primary disk-based and Cloudian copies however as the Primary job took so long to run (lets say over 2 days) then the Cloudian objects won’t be deleted by the Commvault process as they are retention locked until potentially the same time the next day. Commvault makes no attempt to do an extra tidy up the next day and just errors in the log files sa

Dear all,I hope you can help me to better understand the Synthetic Full option availability. In a VMware virtualised environment, all our VMs are grouped into a bunch of subclients for which I can perform a Synthetic Full backup, after right-clicking on the subclient name and selecting Backup command from the popup menu.Now, if the same sequence is run from one of the VMs, from the Client Computers tree, the Synthetic Full option is not available.In both cases above the subclient belong to agent type Virtual Server. What am I missing? Thank you in advanceGaetano

Hi Team,I have a query on how does Deduplication at the Storage Policy compare with setting Deduplication at Subclient level ?I have to set a mediaagent partition while enabling Deduplication while creating a storage policy.When choosing the same storage policy at the subclient level, I could see Enable deduplication Tab in properties to be selected by default as “on client”. Shouldn’t it be “on media agent”?How does it differentiate from each other? 

I'm attempting to install Commvault v10 SP15 on a new physical server, and I've previously succeeded in installing it on virtual machines without any issues. However, when trying to install it on the physical server, I encounter an error message that reads, 'please make sure that your computer is connected to the internet and retry.' Despite verifying that the internet connection is working correctly through testing and disabling antivirus software, the Commvault installer continues to prevent the download.I am seeking advice or suggestions for addressing this issue. It's worth noting that due to external constraints, installing Commvault v11 is not currently an option. If anyone has faced a similar situation or has any recommendations for resolving this problem, I would greatly appreciate your assistance."

Hello, I have 3 libraries in different environments but these are hosted in the same commserv, we work with weekly and monthly tapes and we want these tapes can be used in any of the 3 libraries, the problem we are facing is that if the tape A was mounted in the library A to mount this tape which already has the expired information in the Library B for example, the solution we have at the moment is to give it delete manually and discover but we want it to be something much more dynamic that simply uses it even if it comes from another library. What also generates me another doubt to be the 3 libraries in the same commserv should know that these tapes are already expired?

Hello everyone, We are running Commvault 11.28.72.Now we want to upgrade to 2023E. I'm trying to download the software via Commcell Console:Tools tab, Add/Remove Software > Download SoftwareThe download starts and then changes to pending with the following error: If I try to download 11.30 the same thing happens.When I upgraded the commcell console from 11.24 to 11.28 it al worked great.Anyone an idea of what to do?

 metallic server plan  creation , while creating plan we get option like this ,can someone tell what is the advance option does the VM full backup run on weekly, or is it only incremental ? if  i need daily incremental and weekly full can disable the advance option select only incremental save it and add one more in the same plan

Hello, we have deployed 2new windows 2019 machine and made a disaster recovery of the Commvault database using the recovery assisstant tool and also installed commvault on another host to build a livesync solution like we had before.The IP and the hostaname of the commserve host has been changed, but the name for the commserve client is the same. We installed failover packages on both primary and secondary machines as written in the documentation. The problem is, that now we have 4 clients in the failover assistant. How to get rid of the restored failover clients now? IF I delete them, the new sql clients will be also deleted as the IPs are the same?

I am in the process of deleting a Storage Pool that is a cloud library (library in question is on prem S3 Storage solution).This mirrors as closely as possible  process I followed with Global DDB’s, but this is my first deletion of a Storage Pool and want to be 100% sure I don’t leave any data on diskListed below are the steps I have run All dependent copies have been deleted and there are no copies associated with storage pool Data aging has run and there are no pending deletes, there has been a week since this was done. I have confirmed there are no jobs associated with the DDB’s When I view the DDB’s I see Application size is 0, size on disk shows blocks still remain but I assume this is the residual base line that will be deleted from disk after the Storage Pool is deleted.   Micro pruning is enabled. I tried running Reclaim space to recover and Orphan chunks (not sure if this is of any benefit). got error “Pruner media agent not found to run Defrag phase on DDB, Please configure

Hellowe have purchased a license for 10 TB of snapshots. Yesterday we removed tons of snapshots from the arrays and no space was reclaimed at all. Today in the morning even more space was taken by snapshots than yesterday. We use intellisnap with vsphere and netapp. The license is full and we are getting alerts all the time. Any idea why this is happening or how we could fix this issue>? Comments: System has reached over 101 percent of the limit for [Snapshot] usage. Jobs may not run. Purchased quantity [10240]: consumed quantity [10360].

i am getting below alert , we are using latest 11.32 software package , i dont remember creating a SP for DDP in the past dedeployments , any idea     Invalid Storage Policy ID. Please verify Client[grb-srv-backup], Agent[File System], Instance[DefaultInstanceName], Backupset[defaultBackupSet], Subclient[DDBBackup] is associated to a valid Storage Policy.
