Good morning dear friends 👋🏼😁,please your valuable help, is that I am doing a SQL Server restore, and I get error for insufficient space (attached images).I see that I have enough free space on the R volume, but I get the error, is it necessary to have twice the space?The backup I am trying to restore is 18 TB.  

We’d like backup AVS VMware servers, will save backup image on Azure storage account. We shouldn’t enable all networks on SA, but AVS segment are not in any VNET/subnet. Dear Friends, we are running a SQL Server restore out-site, we are observing that the process creates a dump file in the commvault installation path, this generated us problems because it filled the C drive.According to the above I have two doubts:1. why is this dump file created?2. how can I move this file (dump file) to another path with more space?Thank you very much for your help.

Hi there,Having an issue with a client where their tape media is not being seen by Commvault. In the process of renewing support, but it’s rather urgent so wanted any troubleshooting tips in the meantime. They’ve reset the library, done various scans, recreated the client with a different name, and tinkered on the library itself (HP autoloader w/ LTO-7) to confirm the tapes are seen by that.Tapes show up on the autoloader fine, but aren’t being seen by CV, still missing “Media in Library”.What could be the issue? Any tips are appreciated :)  

Is there any uninstaller or cleanup tool available for commvault windows clients.Many times, it is impossible to clean the traces which creates a lot of problems.

HI Team, I have a question. If someone changes the time on commserve, will it impact my retention? i know we usse the concept of cycle that can be really good option against it. but still, just want to confirm that we don’t have cycle concept then will it impact our retention ?

We have a primary commserve and vcenter. We have multiple sites each with a physical media agent, esxi servers and netapp as storage. The media agents talk back to the primary vcenter to back up the local vm’s at each site. For some reason jobs started failing at one site, it was working before but now I am seeing the following error: Error Code: [91:465]Description: Unable to connect to vCenter server [VCENTER] as user [CVSERVICEACCOUNT] from access node [REMOTEMEDIAAGENT]. [Unable to connect to the remote server]Source: REMOTEMEDIAAGENT, Process: vsdiscoveryNow from this remote media agent, I am literally able to log into the vcenter using the service account. So this does not make any sense why every job is failing with the above error message. Does anyone know what I can check or do to help resolve this?  

HiDo we have an object lock feature in commvault other than WORM.We are planning to send auxiliary copies to Cloud(AWS). We are under the assumption that by enabling object lock feature on S3 bucket. The Data Aging will be interrupted or the data cannot be expired properly.Is this assumption correct? If yes, what is the other way to make the data immutable.

We have a customer that is asking about backing up NetIQ eDirectory, and if it is supported by Commvault. It seems as though it is, leveraging the OES File System Agent: https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/19892_backup_oes_file_system_idataagent.html Can you confirm this is the case? Also, the customer is asking if there is any documentation that explicitly describes support for NetIQ eDirectory, and on how to specifically configure backups and restores for it. We cannot seem to find any documentation on this. Would you be able to provide any info? Thanks!

Dear Sirs, please help me: In SQL databases more exactly in Properties-Advanced Options- Block Level Backup Options-Optimize for Table Level Restore.Does this option work for backups that are on tape or does it only apply to disk? Noob alert! Hi everyone, I hope you`re all doing well 🙂!We upgraded from 11.25 to 11.28 and since the Upgrade, the Command Center(Web-Admin) is showing inaccurate information. Here You have some examples: We have more than 80 Laptops using Commvault.  Here it showing “0”.This Error Message comes when we go to “Dashboard”.If we open any of the “Server groups”, they all show “Server group \ Infrastructure” and all Laptops. In CommCell everything looks in order. 

Evening folksI am in the process of enabling data verification across our storage policies - some of our servers are EC2 instances with Commvault configured to backup directly to S3.I assume if I were to enable data verification in the above scenario I would incur further charges as Commvault would be reading data from the S3 bucket?Also, I just want to check my workings out is correct, or there about. If we are charged for using data verification in the above scenario - if, for example, the data verification job needed to verify 150GB worth of data my math would be 150GB (size of data) / 32MB (Block size that CV stores data in) / 1000 (S3 charges per 1000 requests) * price per 1000 READ requests? Many thanks

How to identify whether server is physical on which CommVault is installed. For example I need to install commvault agent on server and need to identify that server is physical or virtual from commvault license or anything.As how many physical servers are present in my infra  on which commvault agents are installed.Hoping for some direction from the community.

Hey everyone, we were wondering how clientside deduplication and compression is working on Azures “Storage Accounts”. It doesn’t seem like it’s using our Mediaagent but which resource is it using then? Is there somehow of an “invisible” virtual maschine which runs a “Storage Account” in Azure and does the deduplication etc.? Best regards

 I am planning to migrate a lot of data from NAS1 to NAS2 (CIFS) and I am curious about the way to utilize gMSA accounts instead of standard username/password pair. For all scheduled tasks I am running on Windows Servers, I am trying to move to MSA, and for any services that vendors do support, I move to MSA also. I did not find a way to utilize gMSA in Commvault because it requires a username/password to create an account. The support team recommended talking to our CV representative which does not make any sense. Did anybody think about using MSA for CIFS shares backups?Or, another idea is to create a group of CV Media Agents and then manage CIFS shares access per this group. Ideas?
