How do the data readers of a VMware subclient relate to the VSA/Access Nodes? If we have 12 readers configured with 4x VSA’s will it run 12 readers on each VSA giving us 48 total streams? Or will it split the 12 readers evenly across the 4x VSA’s, creating 3x streams for each VSA?

Hello, Team. I have a customer whom i deploying commvault for.They are looking to backup Amazon EC2 Instance Virtual Machines and also some Hyper and EXSI vms (on-prem).I have given them requirements to have the proxy which will also serve as a media agent on Amazon for the cloud VMs (VMs are scattered across different regions(it would have been if they had 1 proxy for each region)). and also a proxy on-prem for the EXSI and Hyper-V. Customer is saying cost for another VM on the EC2 instance is high. They want to use On-prem server as proxy and Media agent for the EC2 instance.Is that ideal? Looking forward to your responses.

Hi All, I am baffled by why I have same API working on commserve and on another I get Internal Server Error (500).. I am trying to launch a backup job, using same api request and get different outcome on 2 commserves… api request Here you can see in red there is the api request if application is Virtual Server - this is failing with 500.outputAnother which is File System - completes ok. For SQL also completes ok..  I’ve tried different backup levels thinking maybe there is some kind of thought behind it.. looked into documentation here: https://documentation.commvault.com/v11/essential/45793_rest_api_post_backup_set_backup.htmlFollowing that I’ve changed headers to application/xml instead of /json - but still the same… Logs from the failing commservs webserver.log:webserver.logAny ideas on this one?

Dear Community,How could we explain why SP_xxxx snapshot became the relationship snapshot of a snapvault destination ? Of course, this one cannot not be deleted.Error message on logs : This Snapshot copy is currently used as a reference Snapshot copy by one or more SnapMirror relationships. Deleting the Snapshot copy can cause future SnapMirror operations to fail. Best regards,Gilles

Hi,One of our Media agent is down. It has windows server OS. We are unable to bring up the server. Currently MA is offline. The server also have over 10TB of critical backed up data on it.Our OS team has failed to bring up the server. Please suggest how can we recover from this situation.

CV server is AWS EC2, cloud library is AWS S3, plan to create VPC endpoint between EC2 and S3, will make sure the data traffic is on AWS backbone. AWS provide gateway and interface VPC endpoint, which one is better?

Hello Commvault Community, Today I would like to ask you for help with a problem regarding "Sharepoint export of site."For some time the client has been observing a problem with backup jobs for a specific subclient (HELIOS), the job ends with the status Completed with errors - Error Code: [27: 275] Description: Failed during SharePoint export of site [http://xyz.xyz.pl ]. Error from SharePoint: [This constraint cannot be enabled as not all values have corresponding parent values.]. Source: epm, Process: CVSPBackup. Hi!When executing a System State restore, we noticed a couple of things missing. The Backup Job used for the restore completed successfully. However, looking at the Job Details, we saw that the job produced an error stating the client needs to be rebooted due to some pending Windows Updates.Is it normal this Backup Job completes successfully without warnings, although an error is thrown? I would expect the job to complete with status “Completed with one or more errors”.We only found the error by looking at the job details of the job. Who knows if any other clients have this same error which causes the System State backup to be inconsistent. Which we can’t tell because they have the status “Completed”.Thanks.Jeremy

Hi All In our environment data verification is disabled, recently from storage team came to know that (Exagrid backup solution) there are some files corrupted. how we can verify now, which jobs file got corrupted, if we run data verification job on all jobs will we able to find. otherwise if the storage team provide the chunk file name which has corrupted from that file will we able to identify the job.

I did a fresh installation of FR28/Commvault 2022E today. Can anyone tell me why we have now a Sharepoint agent installed on the Commserve? The Windows 2019 was also a fresh install with no extra components, so I’m a little bit confused…  

Hey Vaulter,  We have larger clients in terms of size, its very difficult to look each restore requests.Is there any solution easily user can access the backup data and restore in their location or specified folder same way DLP how Edge Window able to restore from their own for WFS Backup?  Waiting for solutions :)  Regards,SK

I have some "NAS/network shares" with different backup types (network share CIFS/NFS or NDMP).The backup copies for shares using FileSystem Agent via "Network Share" can use 3DFS and those using NDMP once cannot use 3DFS. Unfortunately, I have a requirement/need to be able to use 3DFS. How can I share backups of NDMP NAS shares via 3DFS? Am I missing something, is there a setting or do I have to live with it?

 We tried to catalog a tape when we start the job it’s showing every time same error. see the error above.  Tried this steps: checked the on the storage policy leve for encryption or password: there is no password on the storage policy level or tape level. after that i used the tapegui tool to find password:   used the password without Junk_  followed the steps:   i got still the same error. 

Hi just to check do our media agents have load balancing mechanism or intelligence ? Cause in a large and scalable environment , sometimes it does not make sense to manual manage in in event of failure for any MA. I know we can configure alternate path but customer is looking at more than that . They are looking at auto balance capability within MA like our VSA.

Hi Guys, I’ve created a workflow, which was running just fine, but starting of now, one of the activities goes into pending state with error 19:857, the activity executes the following PowerShell script on the CommServ:$count = (Select-String -Pattern "string" .\file.txt).Countif ($count -ne 0) {     exit 1 } The exit code 1 here, will be forwarded to a decision block.Any help would be much appreciated.Regards.

Aux Copy was going well, but suddenly it didn't work Hitachi storage status ok. Any advice please

In CommCell Console, in the control panel, in the Data part, when selecting Replication, the option “Enable chaining for Windows continuous data replicator agents” appears. Does anyone have more information about this action and what happens if I disable it? Than you. 

I need to check if there is any option to move the data from one mount path to another mount path in the same library. I need this to be done for mitigating over commit issue at back end storage. I am having 3-4 mount paths in which only one job is there , i want to move that one job to any other MP within the library and get that deleted so that over commit issue will get solved.  Current Version: V11 SP26.23Backend Storage : Netapp

Hello, We’ve recently been testing LiveSync and one of the tests we did was to turn off the primary test server (unplanned failover) and see if it would automatically start to failover onto the secondary test server, which it didn’t and we manually started the failover.I was wondering if this is a feature which is being looked at potentially by Commvault in the future. Many Thanks, Craig
