Hello, For some reason i don’t know yet, my vcenter’s intellisnap backup failed since several days. Snap job passed, but backup copy never passed. Now i have a problem with snaps size and dates, my storage team ask me what to do. I would like to fully cancel this job but when trying to kill backup copy it still relaunch immediately, and want to clear the snaps history related to this job (vcenter, even if it does not seem to be problematic here, but storage too). In other words, how can i really cancel an intellisnap composed job to clear all, please? Thanks in advance. Regards.

Hi All,I had some issues with VM replication terminating with error. After marking for full sync the replication finished successfully.Now the problem is that every following replication replicates the same amount of data as the full replication did. Because full replication takes 7 days to complete I would like to avoid deleting the target VM and configuring the replication from scratch.What could be the reason for replicating such huge amount of data? Hello ! In the next days, I have the opportunity to replace an existing Windows MA (with VSA) with a Linux MA (also with VSA).The windows MA has a local (internal) disk library hosting deduplicated backups of a single storage policy. The target Linux MA also has internal disks library + an LTO8 tape library.Both MAs are online and can communicate over the IP network. It looks possible to perform a move of the DDB of the windows MA to the Linux MA, but it is not possible to perform a move of the windows Mount Path to a linux server. I would like to keep my existing Storage policy (that of course can be edited for this purpose) and existing backups so they could age normally (ideally) without manual action at the expected end date of retention. Has anyone already performed in real such action ?How have you done this ? Or would you ?   Of course, I can create a new storage policy with deduplication targetting the linux MA, and attach all the clients to this new SP, but this is what I wish

Hello,I want to automate the maintenance mode to allow SCCM to patch the Media agents.We have a gridstor of 2 media agents that are used a lot.I want to script this part. put a media agent in maintenance mode.Get the confirmation that the MA is in maintenance mode.Allow SCCM administrators to patch the Windows  media agent.The SCCM Admin will reboot the MA.After that I disable the maintenance mode on the MA to allow it to take backups againCan you help me to get the correct command for the highlited lines please ? Thanks !

Question: On a Windows cluster subclient when I change the performance setting to automatic use optimal number of readers and press ok it goes back to the Use data readers setting.We are using Commvault version 11.23.12Is this only going to be applied when we go to 11.24 ?

Hi, I am reaching out here on behalf of a customer. It is about the vulnerability CVE 2021 36934 (“Hive Nightmare”) were Microsoft recommends to limit the access to \system32\config.https://msrc.microsoft.com/update-guide/vulnerability/CVE-2021-36934 Microsoft states there, that their workaround can impact third party backup solutions. That’s why the question came up if the workaround is applied if and how this could have an impact on VM and File System backups. This is the workaround:Restrict access to the contents of %windir%\system32\configCommand Prompt (Run as administrator): icacls %windir%\system32\config\*.* /inheritance:eWindows PowerShell (Run as administrator): icacls $env:windir\system32\config\*.* /inheritance:eDelete Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) shadow copies Delete any System Restore points and Shadow volumes that existed prior to restricting access to %windir%\system32\config. Create a new System Restore point (if desired).  

Is Commvault able to manage Vmware guest, Array to Array based replication with Pure Storage arrays?In the documentation it looks like it can do it for NetAPP.  I would love to be able to set this up with my Pure Storage arrays.https://documentation.commvault.com/11.21/essential/123160_array_based_replication_for_virtual_machines.htmlAlso in the Array management portion of the Java GUI.  For the Pure Storage array I do see some fields about target array for replication… but I can not find much about it..Thank you,

In looking through the topics around communication with Clients in firewalled environments there is the discussion around using host files on those clients when no DNS resolution is possible.  In configuring a cvfwd.txt distribution file in the client group there doesn’t appear to be a way to also include the IP addresses of the Media Agents or Commserve.  There is the notion of the Network Proxy Appliance, however again we have a DNS dependency.  For small groups of clients it doesn’t make sense to deploy said appliance, rather hosts file seems more reasonable. If the cvfwd.txt file contains the names of the Commserve and Media Agents why not give us the ability to control the IP address used ( for NAT”d networks ), and just leverage the current IP’s of the Commserve and MA’s if appropriate ( for non-NAT’d networks )?Looking for a reason why the hosts file is the chosen method here, rather than providing all that functionality right in the cvfwd.txt file?    

Hello Commvault Community,  I noticed a problem at the client, where when trying to generate a dump of the CommServe database, it does not generate it correctly. Is it possible to install the BoostFS library on a HyperScale X Media Agent, and if so is it supported?I’m looking to write a additional backup copy to storage outside of the appliance and hope I can do it in a deduplicated manner rather than having to send a full copy to the data domain.  The topic of BoostFS is discussed on https://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11/article?p=9404.htm#o132281, but nothing specific to HyperScale X and BoostFS at https://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11/article?p=128105.htm.Thanks

Hello Community We have two Commcells, one based here in the UK and one in the US.  The issue I have is I cannot use one email address to log calls in both environments.  It seems sub accounts do not have the ability to do this.  I spoke to support and they sent me this Sub-Account MANAGEMENT IN THE MAINTENANCE ADVANTAGE CUSTOMER SUPPORT PORTAL (commvault.com)  however there is no mention of merging accounts to use both CommCell’s.  This was something that our account manager said could be done. Alas, Im struggling to see how this is done, as I get this message when ting to create a new sub account and get this message on the US Commcell Please be advised that e-mail addresses must be unique to each contact. Is it just an internal thing to the SIDB2 process?I’ve seen the command have -j 0 as well as a -j xyz jobId that is searchable. BRHenrik
