When will Platform Release 2024E 36.10 be availible in the Commvault Console ?

Has anyone seeing this case where when running a backup copy, VMs are mounted, but some of them end up “invalid” this failing backup copy and hanging around vsphere. We have to manually right click and select “Remove from Inventory then run another backup which then works fine.VMTools running latest version.Run a full on the affected VMs and it keeps happening.Had a ticket with CV which said that this is a VM issue, so wondering if the community has seen this before and have found a solution for it? Thanks

I rebooted two media agents in my environment and after that, I have DDB verification jobs failing. The error points to mount paths not accessible but all mount paths are online and ready. There are no network blocks. The connectivity between CV and the storage pool is up. The media agents can communicate with CommVault. Backup jobs are running with no issues. Only the DDB verification jobs are failing. The media agents involved are the ones I rebooted

Hey Guys!We have a few tapes with only a small amount of data. So we want to do a Media Refresh. But the Library has only one drive, so Media Refresh wouldn’t work?Re-Copy could be another solution, but jobs from the source are already deleted and existing only on the Tapes with longer retention.So I’m sitting here and scratching my head what we can/should do with those 5 Tapes with only a small amount data, because we need scratch tapes, so thats why we want to copy them together just to one Tape.KRJan

How many times i am able to take the exam..i mean what if i failed for the first time how many times will remain? 

We have a requirement from our data governance team to add the data classification into the actual details of the file once we have setup Classification Plans within Sensitive Data Governance, ideally the tag attribute within the file details. Does anyone know if this is possible and how you would do it?

i would like to know how the restore works , considering i have a full backup on weekend like Saturday and then daily incremental . now i want restore from last Wednesday , how the restoration works ?system go for the last full backup and then check the incrementals then convert it as a full backup and restore , or do we need to do it manually ??

Hello all!Hope things are rolling well! I do have a problem with Commvault Web Console. If we back up a new server one time and let's say it is 15 TB. We then release the license for said server, how long does it take for that for that 15 TB to return to the license? Is it based of the data aging jobs that run, or is there a certain number of cycles Commvault goes through to make sure the 15 TB is never going to come back?

Hello ALL,I am reaching out to seek clarification regarding the visibility of tape labels in the restore job logs. Recently, we restored critical data from tape storage, but during my audit review, I noticed that the tape label was not visible in the restore job log.Could you please advise on where we can locate the tape name or label in the restore log? Hello Commvault Community, Is it possible to limit the number of sessions for virtualization backup (VMware) using a key or setting that will limit backup sessions per cluster, per host or per datastore within one large subclient? Such a need arose because in a scenario where a failure occurs on the hypervisor side and backups are launched from schedules, most/all jobs at once on development and production resources would fight for sessions (resources) at the same time, which will be problematic - limiting on the vCenter side may be inefficient. If it were possible to set something at the backupset or subclient level, it would also be good, because currently it is set so that practically every subclient is divided per cluster, which is inefficient at the moment and poorly manageable.Thanks in advance,Kamil

Hi All,One small query, generally during VM based backup, commvault creates disk snapshot in azure - OS disk snapshot.Is it possible to create VM directly from the Azure portal using commvault created OS disk snapshot - likecreating disk from that commvault snapshot and build VM using the new created disk.is this approach feasible, or can it be restored using commvault tool only.

Hello, customer is managing SAP HANA backups from DB side via backint. He want to create special 3rd copy of his online full backups.On commvault side, DB backups are taken by DB_backup storage policy and log backups are taken by Log_backup storage policy. As per my understanding, due to whole backup process is controlled by HANA Studio (or similar tool), Commvault cannot control what and when is backed up and therefore is kind of blind. I was able to setup aux copy of monthly Online full backups to S3 library. We are now testing restore from S3 library (it is 3rd copy), but is failing. Failure reason is caused by absence of log backups. Customer now wants to schedule aux copy of Log jobs related to the particular Monthly Online full. I am, however, not sure if it is possible due to mechanism of backups - as I mentioned, they are taken by DB itself and therefore I expect Commvault is not able to “choose” needed log jobs. Conclusion: Is it possible to fulfill customer expectation and sc

Hello expertsNeed to restore deleted data, and user have no clue about the size of data, in CommVault as you know we can see the size of individual files, but not folders, for folders and sub-folders it shows 0 Bytes.So is there anyway to find that before we actually hit the restore and filled up any space.

I have a user that has replaced a Linux client computer in Commvault with a new upgraded computer with the same name. I need to be able to restore backups from the original client to the new client but I can’t get the new client to show up in Commvault. When I try to bring it in I get the error “ Failed to get preimagemode xml file from client. Any ideas how to get past this error?

Hey Guys!If there’s no tool, i think it can be solved in the CommServe DB.I just want to switch a specific Agent, like File System/OES/Vmware to another client.Customer made some bad configuriations, and to fix it, i don’t want to reinstall/reconfigure all, which is a lot of work/time, and the biggest help for our problem would be an option to move (a double installed Agent/Client for the same Server, but can’t merge it because both have vm config. The old one has all the backup history, the new Client when reinstalled comes with a vmware client because customer created a new vm, but we need to attach the old backup history/configuration, to the new vm) an agent just to another client, which maybe can be just a little change in the CV DB. I’ve tried to google and search on documentation, but always get pointed to commcell migration, what is not our topic.Maybe you have some ideas for us, Thank you in advance!Kind regards,Jan
