Good day!We have a requirement to route VMware backup over the dedicated VMkernel network on ESXI hosts. Unfortunately, the CommVault solution does not have a proper method to route VMware backup traffic over 902 (NFC) to HyperscaleX. If I’m correct the “Dedicated Interface Paring (DIP)” will not work for the VMware backup type.  Please let me know if there are some improvements made in the latest Version to manage VMware backup traffic using DIP.Below are the environment details, IP, and names being just dummy, curious to know if it will work if I use a host file entry to route traffic over a dedicated VMkernel network. Commserve:   IP and NameMGMT -→ 192.168.10.10 cs01.test.comBackup -→ 10.0.8.10HyperScaleX:  Network label, IP and Name. Three node HSX cluster. HelloWe have a cluster with 1 primary and 3 secondary servers, dump backup works from everyone but log backups only work on the primary. What is the best practice for this situation?And if you can backup the logs only from the primary how will it work when the primary failovers?

Hello my dear Community!I have a question from a customer for which I honestly can’t answer. If a customer is using let’s say 10 TB of Air Gap Protect to protect all his VMs, and he decides to release the license on one of his VMs, and let’s say that that VM is consuming 1 out of the 10 TB, will releasing the license also reduce the AGP consumption? Or will it stay exactly the same? I know there is dedup and all, but lets say that this VM actually has 1 TB of unique blocks out of that 10 TB. Will it decrease the license usage but still keep the data for the retention?I would believe it’ll stay the same but I want to confirm. In Commvault Core, when you release a server that uses FET license, it does release that capacity back right away. I want to know if it does the same in Metallic.Thanks in advance.

Hi, after upgrading from CV 11.28.100 to 11.32.56, my customer noticed that the JAVA GUI is suddenly trying to connect to: ipm.commvault.com. From a security perspective, they would like to know: Why is it trying to connect to that host? What data is being sent? Can this be disabled somehow? Any suggestions?Thanks in advance!

Hello,I have configured Commvault to Protect AS400 and the progress of Backup is good it takes a few mins, but for restore operations it takes a time like 5 hours comparison to backup complete in 45 mins does anyone have some advice? 

Hi dears, i had old configuration of live sync but the engineer has deleted the CS DR, when i deployed new Standby node but during the live sync configuration i have found that old standby node still visible in livesync wizard and a wrong info is exsit regarding primary and passive nodes based on troubleshooting and search i have found that there ares the below scripts to remove and cleanup the failover instances but i cannot find/download the scripts. can someone assist by providing a link to download the below scripts?RemoveFailoverInstanceClientPropCleanupStaleFailoverAssoc thanks in advance.

Hi,I see in the documentation that Azure SQL, Azure PostgreSQL and Azure MySQL do not support incremental/differential backups.My question is, will incremental/differential backups be supported in future releases?I see other services like Azure CosmosDB does support incremental backups, so I wonder if it’s just a matter of time for the others to support the same… Another question would be, how is point in time recovery achieved for these PaaS DBs? I could only find information about log backup for Azure SQL… how would PostgreSQL and MySQL achieve point in time restore? are logs backed up for these too? Thanks!Sergio

Hi All, i have an short question regarding the edit of one report. I try to change tha date format in the Replication Status - report.  i opend the report clicked on edit selected the last syn time and edit the   i changed the date to this settings. I saved the deployed the report. in the html view all fine. in the html mail and pdf mail all fine but in the csv export its not fine the csv report is not ussing the date formatter wich i choice.  do you have an idear why ? 

hi guys, i just replaced old MA server to new MA server - the library and access node of cloud apps. when i start backup job for teams, about 5 teams are sucessfull and about 1500 teams failing due to  Failed to restore latest metadata files. We just received an alert that the sku for autoscaling is being deprecated. Is there a new one we can use, and I assume an additional setting to define the new sku. I will attempt to use the windows sku, but I fear it may be next in line for deprecation. One or more image versions within the plan commvaultlinuxfr32 from the publisher, commvault, have been scheduled for deprecation. As of August 16, 2024, you have workloads that are running on these images. These workloads will continue to run and will not be impacted. However, additional instances cannot be deployed after the deprecation date.

Hi Everyone, We've got a customer intended to provide BaaS to its customers through Commvault. His main concerns are related to security. As his has customer which have their data located on-prem and which should be protected in the new BaaS. The concern is how the network design should be in order to transmit the data from the end customer DC to the new BaaS platform without exposing all the CommCell nodes to the internet. We heard of Network Gateways, but actually we do not have any clue how this can be done. If Network Gateways is actually the solution in order to only expose other nodes (CS and MAs), does that mean even the Management Plane (Access of the Tenant to the CommandCenter for Backup Management) is transmitted over the NetGw ? Any details regarding this would be nice, thanks in advance. Regards.

We want to have Azure Blob containers Immutable feature turned ON.Primary - Incremental - 30Days - AzureBlobContainer1Monthly Full backup Extended retention - 365Days - AzureBlobContainer1With Commvault Deduplication.Commvault DDB resides on the Media Agent.How so we handle DDB and the extended retention of INCR and Full on the Container1? Will the data on the container1 expire post INCR has reached its retention for 30Days? Currently we are not sealing our DDB. Do we need to seal the DDB when using Azure Immutable storage? Can we have one Azure Immutable blob and inside them have multiple folders with multiple retention? How does Commvault Retention linked with Azure blob Immutable - Access Policy - Retention Interval? What if Azure Retention Interval on AzureBlobcontainer1 is set for 30Days and My Commvault retention is for 365Days. what happens to the same data on 31st day?

Good Day Community,Few questions regarding Auto Recovery from VMware to Azure AVS (Azure VMware Solution).First, I do not see clearly on the documentation site if Auto-Recovery supports VMware to AVS replication (although it is VMware to Vmware (theoretically), I’d still like to validate if it is supported.Second, will the restore still be an incremental restore.Thisrd, if the customer decides to go with Auto-Recovery between VMware and standard Azure VMs instead of AVS, will the restore still be an incremental restore.Many thanks in advance for your kind help.

OK,  have CommVault running on a windows server,  And would like to back up a ESXI server and associated SANS.  Any suggestions on how to go about doing this.

HiI am trying to install a couple of Linux clients as part of an Oracle RAC Cluster backup/restore test we are running. We haven’t used Oracle RAC before so all a bit new, but when i try and install the two clients we have the install fails with this error.RNG error number from CVwhen i check the SW Cache details cannot see that it is disabled or how it could enabled/disabled etc. i can see the SW cache in the CommCell browser and no where does it give me the option to enable or disable it? In the Web UI dont even really get the to be able to view the cache (manage>system>maintenance does not include anything that calls itself an SW cache but hey why would the commcell browser and web ui call things the same!!!!!)I am at a loss as to what i need to change?Version 11.32.xx (2023E)ThanksJames
