Hi,We have configured a new Oracle RAC version 19c with two nodes. The Oracle Agent has been successfully installed, and the nodes were added to the CommCell console. Following this, the Oracle RAC was automatically created on the CommCell. However, when I attempted to configure the instance, the process was unsuccessful, and I encountered the following error: Could you please assist me in resolving this issue?
Hi all,I am trying to set Entra ID backups on our CommCell. I am following the documentation under Getting Started with the Azure Active Directory Application, including Complete the Guided Setup for Active Directory which is one of the steps. When I go to Guided Setup on the Commserve, all of the applications within “Protect” are greyed out, so I am not able to find the AAD or AD Application, or access any of them (see screenshot) including other tabs in that page. Even when logged in as local administrator, which is associated with the master role. When the vendor helped us implement Commvault, I notice they didn’t use backup plans to schedule and run backups. And if you see in the screenshot, the “Create server backup plan” checkbox is not checked out, which makes the core setup unfinished. I wonder whether the system needs a backup plan created, even though it will not be used to be able to work with additional applications? Thanks in advance.Kind regards.
sorry this is sorted...completely forgot about user prefrences
I make a backupof MS SQL system databases (master, msdb). The backup job is made without errors. Then I try to restore system databases from the backup and when opening Browse and Restore - View Content I get the message There's no data to restore. How to properly backup system databases and what I'm doing wrong
If I need a policy like this:Full Backup - once a month (first Sunday at 02.00) retention 30 daysDiff - every day (at 02.00 except first Sunday) retention 5 daysNow I set 30 days as storage policy default for Full backups, and in schedule policies for Diff backups in Media - Job Retention I set 5 days. But I still see the content of diff backups older than 5 days. How and where can I set the above policy correctly?Another question is how to set the deletion policy by the number of backup points. That is, I need one backup. When creating a new one, delete the old one without reference to days.
I found error Nonzero code [9] returned from user command. I’m not entirely sure what the error is, so I tried editing the startPrePostCmd file as indicated by the error message. Could anyone advise me on how to fix this? I’m not certain if I really need to modify the script.
Hi All, In our environment, the commvault backup data to disk storage then duplicate to tape, can we delete/purge specific backup data on disk storage only?
According to the Announcements on this pagehttps://documentation.commvault.com/2024e/essential/announcements.htmlCommvault will discontinue VSA Indexing V1.How Can I check which VSA Indexing version we're running and What does VM-Centric Hypervisors means?
Hi Everyone!! I am new here and sorry for my lack of knowledge. We have a CommVault CommCell and we have changed the location of our primary storage. In the past to get around this we kept all of our naming and ip addressing the same on the new array as we did on the old so we were able to just slip in with no issues. This time however due to a internal merger we are now sharing resources with other parts of our company and as such instead of a individual netapp filer dedicated to our enviorment we are using a SVM that is part of a larger storage array. My Problem is that we have a bunch of old jobs that did not complete due to 1. space issues on our backup target 2. issues with jobs that were deleted ( or partially deleted ) that has caused our commcell to be very grumpy. We were able to hold the jobs that were broken and start to move data, additionally we split up our jobs ( had 1 job for 4 volumes) to individual jobs for each volume to keep from having issues as we go on fro
Hello, hope my question is clear enoughIn case of a O365 client o365 is incremental forever, what is the selective copy behavior in this case ? primary copy retention 30 days dailysecondary copy same retention selective copy (monthly fulls)Thanks
Hi all,I am trying to configure two physical RHEL servers that are not domain-joined. I need to back these servers up and need to install the agent first. Considering all firewall rules are in place, which would be the best way to install the file system agent and then configure for backups.Would a decoupled install work just fine? Installing the agent locally on the client server, then adding the client fetching “the configuration information from the client that is already installed in decoupled mode.”I am having a hard time finding documentation with a case like this. All I am trying to figure out is how to get the Commserve to reach the servers once the agents are installed. Once the Commserve can talk to the clients I am able to configure the rest.I was wondering if this is even possible. Usually, I deal with servers that are domain-joined.Thanks in advance!
I have MSSQL database server. Where databases are periodically added and deleted. How can I set a backup of certain databases by mask. For example, a backup of only those databases that begin with the letter A.Initially selecting databases for backup is not suitable. It is necessary that databases that match the mask are automatically included in the backup job when they appear on the server.
Hello,we installed a v11.36 in a POC. Customer has circular logging in Exchange active. We do not use the Java GUI, and now we are looking for the advanced backup option “Convert job to full for databases that have circular logging enabled” in Command Center. We didn’t find it, but I may not be firm enough with Command Center for that ….Regards, Thomas
Hi, im still trying to get the RPO settings right for the following scenario (we are currently on V 11.32.69): Incremental Backup Mo-Fr 09:00 PMTransaction for Database every 4hFull Backup of Databases every Day 09:00 PMFull Backup (of all) Saturday 09:00 PM (for Tape export) We have some flexability with the start time, but for the first try we started with the rule set above:The outcome was mixed, the SQL Backups all had some Jobs with an “Failed to start” Error, also some of the Job there startet as Differential (the SQL option to incr. Backup) for other its started the Full Job, depending what job was “faster” to start. Isn’t there some intelligence that priorities the “higher value” Backup Job (Full > Diff > Incr.)? I could manually move the Database Fulls a few minutes eralier, that would at least make sure, the Full would be ran and the Incr. would “Fail to start” but is there a way, i can get rid of attempt to start the job at all?In the RPO you can select “all Agent” and

Hello Commvault Community, I would like to ask you how to change the condition in the license consumption monitoring alert so that it indicates the current consumption according to Command Center. Some time ago I came across the information that the calculation of license consumption in CommCell Console isn’t perfect and we should monitor and suggest the information presented in License Summary Report from CommandCenter (after use Recalculate button). Today this has been proven and confirmed - in one of the environments running on SP32 version we noticed that for many months in CommCell Console the system didn’t inform about excess use of VOI licenses, after checking this in CommandCenter it turned out that licenses have been used for a long time above 100% license consumption, where in CommCell Console the alerts gave information that the consumption is at 80-90% of available licenses. It seems that despite many updates to the Commvault environment version, the alerts still refer to
