Hello Commvault Community, Environment version: SP32I am now testing the 1-touch procedure for Laptops with Win10 Pro. The 1-touch process itself runs successfully, but I noticed that it doesn’t collect Commvault directories, so the machine was recreated using the 1-touch mechanism without the entire Commvault structure (C:\Program Files\Commvault\ContentStore is empty, there are no binaries there). I checked whether it was collecting data at the very beginning of the first Full Backup and the answer is - it isn’t collecting it. Backup is performed on the default subclient, so "/" is indicated in Content, which says that everything that can be backed up using the FS agent will be protected, but this doesn’t happen. Backup System State is also enabled, I haven't added any filters. The only thing that worries me is the fact that this is a newly created Backupset, because when a laptop is recognized as a Laptop, it is assigned a "Subclient Policy", which changes the Content for the defaul

Selective copy - Last Full backup Of the Month to be selected for Aux copyExample: for the month of march, scheduled Monthly Full backup is at March 31st 11:30PM, somehow if this backup get failed, as per below selective copy logic.. it will select the previous[March 23rd/24/25/26/27/28/29/30th ...etc] Full backup as Monthly backup.But actually, If the Full backup failed on 31st March… i need a logic for monthly backup as next/ subsequent Full backup to be taken as Monthly Backup [i.e ...April 1st/2nd/3rd …. Command center dashboard is not displaying and showing errors. I turned off firewall and still giving the same error. it doesn’t matter if I access the command center from the server or different workstation, results are the same. Commvault server is virtualized if that info is any helpful
we are configuring a development environment for our commserve software testing 2 virtual machines running on fast storage Let’s call them (commserv01-dev.company.au & commserv02-dev.company.au) with livesync option installed. I’m going to guess nobody has contemplated this unless they’ve been with Commvault for eons, but here’s the situation and end-state goal:We have been archiving files on a couple 2 node clusters running on RHEL for years. The cluster consists of multiple virtual clients(each per application group) and the nodes participating in the cluster use the sVCS_SUPPORT reg key to know there’s plugins and such, and to know who owns what. As part of “reducing complexity”, costs, etc., we need or prefer to remove the clustering components.The HW and OS’s are obsolete so migrating the apps and data to new systems but retaining identical names and IP’s. Archiving works well so want to keep stubs as stub if at all possible.The new (destination) servers have new OS’s and no Veritas at all.Rather than rehydrate/recall all the stubbed content, is it possible to simply shutdown old systems, bring up new, and if the new hosts have the same hostname as the old (and obviously the filesystem agent on it), wil

Hey Guys!Currently we have all our HS X Nodes, one Library, in one Data Center. Now the customer wants the backuped data also available on a secon site, where they want to build up a second HS X cluster, if DC 1 is down, all backup data is available in DC 2. Solution 1, warm standby:How can i push the protected data to the 2nd HS X Cluster besides running Aux copies? Is maybe a CV HS X Feature on the backend for that solution available?Problems with Solution 1: The HSX Nodes are mostly idling, and the primary Cluster has to do all the workloads. Solution 2, striped/cloned HS X Cluster:The HS X Workloads are striped over DC 1 and DC 2, and all protected data has to be available on both sides. Benefit: We can distribute all Workloads over more HS X Nodes.So does exist some kind of (Hedvig) Storage Data replication, to sync two HS X Libraries?Or what solutions would you recommend as the “best” in this case?Thank you!Kr

If I was to change the Commvault configuration to use a new database on a different instance what would be the consequence of this?I would assume a full backup would need to be run of the Salesforce Org to build a new copy in the Database, but would this affect any restore capability for jobs that used the previous database configuration such as record level restores or could this be retrieved from the related backup jobs? I would think that record level restores would not be possible due to the fact they are only supported in the most recent backup cycle, but is there anything else that requires consideration? Just trying to understand the impact of this operation so any help/advice appreciated. Thanks i
HiGood dayMy backups were running before now, all of a sudden they started failing because of this error: Unable to communicate with remote machine {Linux media Agent} to start data pipe. Please check the following:1. Network connectivity exists between client and remote machineProduct servuces are running on remote machine. Firewall is setup properly between client and remote machine Error [Connection failed on oracle_dba with these errors: 1 Couldn/t complete tunnel connection to tape_linux)server on 192.168.1.112:8413: No route to hostAll these seem like network issues. I tried to add entries into the host files of all clients affected. It still keeps failing. This is the caseI want to backup oracle files and instances to tape, via a linux media agent. The backups ran some days ago, and all of a sudden they have failed with the errors i quoted up here. Someone should help me resolve this challenge. Thanks.

i dont have a dedicated non-routable backup network, but i can have redundancy and i have multiple VLANs for my clients, so the commvault hyperscale X document says to use Bonded VLAN topology as per below link,https://documentation.commvault.com/2024/expert/determining_network_topology_for_hyperscale_x_reference_architecture_setup.html.my question is, if i still can have a dedicated 1GbE link on my HSX reference architecture node, then can i use that 1 GbE port dedicated for management traffic, like connection to commserv, DNS ? if answer is yes, then does it become Bonded VLAN topology with management network ? however as per topology determination table, we use Bonded VLAN topology with management network when we dedicated non-routable backup network.someone please help to confirm this.
I have a situation here, after migration from 11.28.72 to 11.32.45, VM which were added using VM rules using VM tags appeared in different subclient of a Vcenter virtual server and it is impacting SLA since now the VM tag issue is resolved and backup in running under one subclient. Now i need to disable backup activity for the client for other subclient except the original subclientcurrently the VM is appearing in only ine subclient of the vcenter virtual server which is JPAWP, and the VM is not available or not showing under any other subclient. But when we check individual VM , it shows multiple backupset/subclient and it is impacting the SLA. Now i need to disable the backup activity for the VM, for specifc backupset/subclient. Do not disable backup activity on client level because the VM is curently backing up in its original subclient.Now i need to disable backup activity for the VM for all the subclient except the orignal subclient which is JPAWP here.I am creating workflow to ac

Hello Everyone,My network security guru is asking if there is a way to restrict access to the Commcell Console and Admin Console so it can only be accessed on the Commserve server. I am aware of role based security and the Two-Factor. But they just want it that the only way to access them is from the one server, or maybe our Jump-boxes that we use to access all our internal servers. Hopefully someone knows if this is even possible or if we just need to go with Two-Factor and they will have to be happy with that solution. Thanks for any help.
