Dear Team, I have question about aux copy moving. My daily aux copy size on all storage policies around 1 TB but we have 60mbps peer to peer link primary site to DR site. It's not enough to transfer that size of data daily. There for we have created backlog of data daily.   This time we cannot increase link. Do we have any method to copy the data to the DR site using a disk on a weekly basis from the commvault side?(I am talking about a method of storing the data for a week in a disk in the primary site and taking it to the DR site once a week and copying it to the DR disk) Please help me to figure out these.

hi all.i got fresh commvault install 11.28 (2022e)by default i see that i have index v2 for everything.setup hyper-v client and i cannot see option to “collect file details” in subclient properties of virtual server in comcell console.found option “Index files after backup” in web command center “Protect” → ‘Virtualization” → “VM Groups”. where VM groups = subclient in comcell console.is this the new and the only way to enable this in command center? no more option in comcell?  

Hello,I was changing the permissions of a user in Commvault threw an Active Directory group. I was wondering how long it will take to synchronize from AD to CV and if I can change the sync time or start a push from Commvault to immediately start the sync.Thanks

Commvault 11.30.25HyperV 2016 & 2019 Until recent, we received the windows system event 153 when Commvault backed up our virtual domain controllers.153 = The IO operation at logical block address 0x95e8e70 for Disk 5 (PDO name: \Device\0000054c) was retried.The device id would change per event. The disk counter would always be one or two higher than the actual disk count on the machine.The Commvault log confirms that disk 5 (in this case) is being used for mounting a VM snapshot. It seems that when Commvault dismounts the VSS snapshot, Windows isn’t quite up to date yet when monitoring some IO. I never understood exactly what the problem was or why it only showed up for those machines. However, from the beginning of this week, we’re seeing a lot more of these events, i haven’t counted them out yet, but there are enough that it might be one or more for every VM. So this needs to be solved, because clearly something is going on and it becomes increasingly difficult to maintain an env

Hi, We’re on the process of migration Commvault to a new hardware. Restoring the database to the new hardware is prompting for the license. I have emailed to license@commvault.com requesting for a new license however i have not receive a reply yet. Normally how long does it take to receive a new license?Do i need to fill up any form or something? Regards,

I am thinking of attempting the creation of a powerbi data connector, and I just wanted to know if anyone has done it already. The process doesn’t look hard but it doesn’t look easy.  I have been doing powerbi transforms on CommVault reports and it’s a huge hassle. So I was thinking if I made a connector it would just make it easier.I am a powerbi novice so I may be going about this entirely the wrong way. Thanks.Chris. 

When MA and VSA binaries are installed on AWS instance of RHEL 8.7 with Kernel version Linux 4.18.0-425.3.1.e18.x86_64, both the instances crashes with error:  kernel: watchdog: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#4 stuck for 22s! Hello, I am an engineer working in Korea.I am working on one project.In the configuration of the customer, the backup server and the MYSQL server are connected by SAN zoning.The MYSQL server and NetApp Storage are connected by San zoning.The MYSQL server is an MA (Media agent) server.After configuring the array, the proxy server was assigned to MYSQL, and the array access node was assigned to the backup server and MYSQL server.But it says snap is not created.If any of you have had an experience like this, please ask for help.

Having some difficulty figuring out how to change DNS resolution for the hosted-engine in RHEV on HS 1.5. Our DNS servers have changed, and we’re decommissioning an old DC. Does anyone have any idea how this can be done?

In a Post process command file, I need to check two arguments before preforming an action. I need to check if the backup job failed (%6==2) and I need to also check the number of retries (%4==10).I have tried:  IF %6==2(IF %4==10( do action ))And:  IF %6==2 && %4==10( do action )But neither work.How do I test multiple arguments in a Post process?

Does a openstack vm with some external NFS mount can be backed up using while taking vm backup.

Ceph object based storage for CEPH FS and RBD is supported? what are the different backup options availale for Ceph storage items like Ceph FS, RBD, S2 & S3. 

We are running Ubuntu Full FS backup for a client with Backup size ~18TB with ~100+ Crore numbers of files. Which is successful but the backed up date size is only ~9TB. Backup completed without any errors or warnings. There is no exclusions in the sub client content.When we are trying to restore most of the directory are showing empty which is not actually empty in the client server. Can someone suggest why this is happening ?

I’m looking for a way to edit the outgoing mail from a scheduled report, somthing like for the alert emails.It doesen’t seem it’s possible, i’ve looked in both the console and webconsole.I guess it’s possible with a workflow, but the learning curve for that seems very steep. I’ve tried it but abandonded it due to lack of skills/understanding.Another way is to use powershell to send the email and fetch the report from a local destination. But if it’s kept in Commvault it would be administrativly easier, maybe.The reason for this is that our Incident system use some XML to configure incidents.Anyone have any idea?//Henke

Hello.We need to change the mail recipient of the master to a mailbox.As far as I can see, this can only be done by editing each alert one by one and changing at Users and Users Groups Selection and changing To: from master to mailbox.Is it not possible to make this change to all alerts at once?Thank you very much.Regards

We are a law firm that is backing up our Sharepoint file storage sites. We are wondering if there is a way for us tobe able to search the backups for a file or folder once they are backed up.

I am currently facing a problem. We have removed the full backup from our FileServer backup before a migration attempt that went wrong in 2021 with an extension of the retention period. This backup is currently on our backup storage. This backup storage is to be replaced this year and I would like to copy these full backups to our object storage. Using another Selective Copy, I cannot select these jobs from the Primary Policy for a copy.  We are currently still using Commvault 11.20.30.Is there any other way to do this ?
