Hi,is it possible to generate a license summary report for companies?E. g. i associate clients to that company and then i can create a report?Using V. 11.28.44.RegardsDennis 

Hi,use Simpana 11.28.44 and i backup my VMs with the virtual server agent.In the client computer group from this agent there are much old objects.Is there a possibility to automatic delete this objects? I only found the way to select each object and delete them manually.Thanks and RegardsDennis 

Hi, Our security department requesting the following:Create emergency user with admin role (local) blocking any other admin from changing password/edit roles for this specific local user.The idea is to cover a scenario where an admin user has been hacked, the hacker wont be able to change anything or even see the emergency user.We did it with the user`s associated entities but it`s creating another issue - after granular deselecting the Emergency user from the User Group of our admins, any new users that been created are not shown to admins. We have to login with the emergency user and edit associate permissions to add those new users. There is no way to say “All users except specific user” The question is if there is any workflow or built-in mechanism for emergency users so no other user will be able to reset its password, except the emergency user itself.I`d appreciate your assistance

Hi,The CommVault agent keeps disappearing from Windows 10. I have reinstalled it, but it still does not appear. It's not a VPN since it hasn't been blocked and this just happened. Yesterday, everything was working fine. Could you please let me know what caused the issue?

I know for a FACT that we used to have the ability to promote a non default sub-client to default. Recently I have noticed that this appears to be missing.  The question I have is, is there a way to promote a non-default subclient to default that is perhaps not in the GUI? Thanks.Chris.

We have noticed AppMgrSvC.exe are not releasing memory once allocated even the load on Commserve is minimal. We would like to know if its designed to use most the RAM available like SQL? We had to restart commvault services even 15days to reduce the memory utilization on Appmgrsvc.

Hello everyone,Last week I looked at the WebConsole Cleanup Report and noticed the Disabled Subclients section listed 39 subclients.  I cleaned up many of them by promoting an existing subclient to be the default subclient then deleting the unused “default”.  That was three days ago but the Disabled Subclients report still shows the original 39 entries - including the ones I’ve cleaned up.Question:  Is there a way to force CommVault to refresh the data within the Disabled Subclients report?ThanksKen

 Trying to determine the timeout auth under the workflow properties. Under timeout for authorization it says default 10. Is that seconds\minutes\days?It was set for 1 as a test and we ran a delete, approval workflow for a backup job but it set in the job controller for over an hour before we just approved it.

Commserver OS getting upgraded to windows 2016 but current SQL server version is 2012 Enterprise SP4 for Commserver. Is windows server OS 2016 still supporting SQL server 2012 SP4 for commserver?. I know hardware refresh is one option but that would be last option i am looking out for currently . Please someone confirm the compatibility matrix for me. Commserver is a VM and we will have a snapshot in place just incase we run into an issue

Hi all-I’m in the process of (slowly) migrating over to server 2019 and the first step I’d like to do is add 2019 media agents to my existing environment.  Is there some way to make the existing 2012 MAs some sort of read-only mode so that jobs that still need info from them can complete correctly, while the 2019 MAs start taking over the majority of the work?  I’d then decomm the 2012 ones all completely.  No dedupe is done on the MAs so it’s just the index drives.  

I have a customer that has numerous Azure Storage accounts that require protection. Up until now we’ve configured all in Command Centre as two separate clients as we use two different authentication mechanisms for each type.​​​​ This was OK with a small number of accounts, but I now need to look at protecting a lot more.Would it be possible to create the client via Command Centre as a blob account which uses VM IAM role for authentication and then dive back into the Java console and add a second “instance” to the pseudo-client by right clicking on the “Cloud Apps” agent and adding a new instance similar to below:New Azure Storage InstanceThen in the Connection Details tab change the Host URL to file.core.windows.net and set the authentication as Access Key and use an appropriate credential?Connection DetailsThis way I can control the number of clients configured in the environment as there could be a hundred or more accounts to add in. Expert documentation seems to suggest it can be do

FYI while moving some customers from legacy schedule/storage policies to server plans we noticed the plan was not creating the daily full (we have it set on the plan for databases). We performed an assessment and noticed this was the case in several customer environment. Now it appears they have a fix already which will be added in the upcoming maintenance release for FR28. I'm not sure if this issue also persist in older/newer version, but beaware this might be the case. Relevant fixes are available as well! 

Currently we have a support case with DELL/EMC due to issues with the NDMP backups. Dear friends, please your valuable help,I am making a backup of 35 Tb file system of a server operating system hp-ux, progresses well but to go termninando throws me the error attached as an image, thank you help me.Blessings  

The “Data retention and Forecast report” indicates they are all being retained because they are ‘INDEXING JOB”. But all of the retention of any of the copies in my storage policy age it out after 14-30 days, 1 cycle. These jobs are being held for over 6 months. Is there any way to set the retention for these to match our storage policy (like a setting somewhere?)? or is being retained because ‘INDEXING JOB” because something related to the storage policy is hanging around and not ageing… so the index stays around, and if so, how do you find out what it is? Edit: and in the report, the “required by Jobs” is the same Job ID as the Job ID as the IndexServer job itself. They don’t refer to any other jobs

Hi,I want to do a Full System Restore using a FileSystem backup of a Windows server. Can this be done using Command Center? I don't find the options there that I have in the CommCell Console, like “Type of Intended Restore” (Full Virtual Machine), In Place yes / no and others. It's an Azure VM, but we have a reason to use the FS Agent for backup.Probably I am overlooking something.Thanks!

We are currently testing how we want to redesign our environment. We have started to use "Companies" in our test environment to provide a self-service portal for customers. All this has worked quite well so far. All that is missing now is the assignment of the VM's from the vCenter to the Companies. We have set up a tag in our vcenter called DBA. We also created the same tag in the Command Center under Manage -> Tags. We also used the Tag function in the subclient to include the VM in the backup. It did not work so far that the VM is automatically assigned to the Company.Have we made another mistake here?Kind RegardsThomas

Hello, I have some issue with restoring sql DB to another VM, the issue is that it take to long sometimes almost 1 day for 2.9TB. The sql back used 4 stream and using 5 streams for restore. Hier are some logs for the restore which still running Any idee why its taking so long?

Hi We have Commserver running on HP G10 server with 32 GB RAM, the Commserver componetnts are installed on server are CommServe, Web Server and Web console and  Command Center. as per screen shot attached the memory utilizaton is 80% and most of utilize by Appache serviceCommvault version is 11.28.24 Thanks  

Cleanup job is not able to delete the user data showing the error on the log of skipped emails and the server cannot service this request right now.Any resolution for this.
