Hi!I do have this setup in my home lab.CSserver - with 10.10.10.0 subnetMA - with 192.168.0.0 subnet and 10.10.10.0Proxmox server within 192.168.0.0 subnet(maybe in some time i will also add some more subnets) So my idea is that i would like my Proxmox to register to CSserver  via media agents. I want to simulate an infrastructure where CVserver is having only one internal interface to cummunicate to MAs only. How to achive that? I have tried to install 2nd instance on MA with gatteway agent. I have tried to create some network rules via CommandCenter, but still Proxmox is not able to register in CS…Maybe I am missing somthiing? All Commvault servers are Linux based and i have disabled internal firewall and SELinux for testing purpouses so it seems that there is somthing wrong with CV configuration itself. Is there maybe somekid of guide, similar topic or so? 

I manager a Commvault system that has been in existence for over 10 years. Throughout the years, engineers and configured and moved mount paths as needed. At this point I have drives with several mount paths on each one. Commvault reports 5 mount paths on a 100TB drive as 500TB. If I show executives utilization reports, it will appear that we have several PB of storage. Storage they know they didn’t purchase. Is there a way to consolidate mount paths, without deleting data, so I can run utilization reports with realistic numbers?

Hello,I do backup restore testing on 11.32 version and found that speed of single stream is quite limited. For SAP for Oracle DB agent I’m getting around 700-900 GB/h per stream, for VMware VSA agent around 700 GB/h per stream.At the same time backup server hardware resources are not very busy, hardware is quite powerful, DDB is on NVMe drives, Library is on SSD drives. Restore destination hardware resources also are not heavy loaded. So I see that hardware and network is not the bottleneck.Tested on Pools with 128KB and 256KB DDB blocks, with media encryption enabled AES128Are there any software limits for stream speed implement programmatically by Commvault? If yes, then can I control this limit manually using some advanced setting?Br,Andrejs

We have upgraded Commserve from 11.28 to 11.36 recently. When we are trying to run the qscript we get following error. One of our vendors suggested that AWS changed something in a recent SDK which can affect (break) S3 communication. On RHEL8 MA’s I see nothing that seems to resemble any sort of file or package relating to any such SDK, so, can someone tell me if AWS’s SDK is being used or if your connection to an S3 compatible storage target might be affected?I only see some sdk’s relating to lib* but nothing that looks like “AWS” specific.thanks

Our M365 administrator changed the email retention policy to 7 years in our M365 tenant. Prior to this, there was no policy enforced.The incremental backups prior would complete in under 30 min. for maybe a few GB of data. Directly after the change, there was 91 GB. The next was 177 GB, which I ended up killing, and then 240 GB that ran for almost 3 days before I killed it.I found the one mailbox slowing things down which had a large amount of emails - not the biggest mailbox but just the amount of mail items.My question is, what is the reason for the change after the Retention Policy is applied to email? It sounds like it may have to “re-seed” the data - what does this mean?

I am trying to add an additional web server for our Commvault environment. Would like to have some information on the chronological order on how it is done as the document from the Commvault website appears scattered everywhere. THe install information itself is not difficultThe question I have is more of how to connect the additional web server to the Commserve so reports can be generate of it.  Or how you can enable it so Command centre can work.  The new web server and the existing Commserver has windows firewall enabled both ends  so would be interested what ports ( inbound and outbound) needs to be opened.

We have some clientes on worm storage policy. Those clients have been shut down. we do not need that clients and their backup anymore. How can I delete them from Commvaut?I I tried manuel deletion, I tried to mark backup job as bad , and I tried to delete via RetireClients worfklow but IT did not work.we need to delete all those clients and their jobs from commvault 

Hi all. After upgrading to 11.32.13 we are sporadically starting to see the below error when doing Vmware snapshot backup. The backup job fails or completes with errors: “Snapshot creation is disabled on [Server name] by [].”   Snapshot creation is not disabled for the server, and when backup is re-run everything is working. Have anyone else seen this behavior? Regards-Anders 

 It appears with 11.36 keytool is cranking out 3072 bit requests. Even if I specifiy-keysize 2048 the CSR is exactly the same as the default with no keysize specified and can’t be accepted by the CA (2048 or 4096 allowed). I did open a support case but since this question came up for the windows cvcerttool as well seems like many of us would like the ability to specify keysize.Does anyone know if this is by design or if there is any enhancement request in the pipeline yet?thanks

Hi Guys,We are using on-premisse solution, on version 11.28.56. We have several SAP HANA servers which are backed up without any issue. Hello community,Trying to deploy a Linux Server as MediaAgent and also Access Node for o365 backup.The version is Rocky Linux 9.5 with Commvault version 11.36.41.In Package Selection, I cant find the Office 365 package!Note that the installation is performed over the internet. Packages are not downloaded beforehand.  What am I missing here?Please for your help! Best regards,Nikos

Is there a way to verified the from the logs that the restore media is from the aux copy and not from the primary copy?

Hello,We have three media agents, and we are doing backup and restore using MA1-vmgrp1-plan1, MA2-vmgrp2-plan2, MA3-vmgrp3-plan3.All the media have four lun mounted respectively and all 12 luns are being pathed to single library.For each of these VM groups there are 27,27 & 27 VMs are assigned to be backed.Backup is completing without error but while doing restore 2nd & 3rd MA is going into pending state after halfway mark. Even though restore is completing but no use as it is going into pending state in-between.This is happening only in case of ddb enabled on commvault, in case of no ddb there is no issue while restore.DDB only for MA one and for 2nd and 3rd MA there is not DDB partition.Please feel free to ask for any additional details.Hoping for some reply.Thanks in advance.

Hi,I am looking at security on the CommServe and have a question.I use CV only (non AD) accounts with MFA enabled. If someone was to compromise my account they could create a MASTER account with NO MFA. Is there a way to require a second MASTER account to approval an account getting created ? Thanks

Hi guys,  i just deployed a VMware Image of CV ( 11.36.39) primary and also secondary one for secondary commserve. I wanna configure a livesynce between comserve in my lab. I just log in the primary one as root and dowloaded a commvault_linux_media_11.36.tar and extract it and run a “Install commserver faillover” nothing happen and hangs… any advices or best-practices  ?  

I would like to inquire about the specific permission or role that restricts non-master users from manually modifying the backup job retention settings in the storage policy.We would prefer not to enable the WROM option.
