Hello,we have customer with SAP Installation based on DB2 which on Netapp NFS Storage.We would like to use Intellisnap Snapshot function with DB2 and NFS Volumes.If I check the Intellisnap Matrix :https://documentation.commvault.com/snap/#/storage_check?fq.EngineName=NetApp&fq.protocolName=NFS&fq.AgentName=DB2Intellisnap is not supported with NFS & DB2.Is this still correct - because in general it is supported why not with NFS or is there any newer information which I missed.Thanks for a short update here.Thx & BRMarcel

Hi all, I have a short question.We are planning to back up our four Exchange DAG-Cluster. The CommServe and MediaAgents are in different VLANs (subnet) as the Exchangeserver/DAG-IP are.For sure, I have to create a firewall rule for the communication between  CS/MA and the Exchangeserver (where the iDA is installed). But the question is, do I also need to create a firewall rule for communication (8400/8403) between the CS/MA and the IP address of the DAG-IP logical object? Many thanks in advance!Skoomer

Hi all, is it possible to age/reset the password for a commvault user immediately?I only find the possibility to set the age value to ‘1’. ‘0’ is not allowed I think…So is there a way to force the user to enter a new password with the next login like a domain user with the option “User must change password at next logon”?Many thanks and regardsSkoomer

Hello Commvault Community, Environment version: SP32I am now testing the 1-touch procedure for Laptops with Win10 Pro. The 1-touch process itself runs successfully, but I noticed that it doesn’t collect Commvault directories, so the machine was recreated using the 1-touch mechanism without the entire Commvault structure (C:\Program Files\Commvault\ContentStore is empty, there are no binaries there). I checked whether it was collecting data at the very beginning of the first Full Backup and the answer is - it isn’t collecting it. Backup is performed on the default subclient, so "/" is indicated in Content, which says that everything that can be backed up using the FS agent will be protected, but this doesn’t happen. Backup System State is also enabled, I haven't added any filters. The only thing that worries me is the fact that this is a newly created Backupset, because when a laptop is recognized as a Laptop, it is assigned a "Subclient Policy", which changes the Content for the defaul

Command center dashboard is not displaying and showing errors. I turned off firewall and still giving the same error. it doesn’t matter if I access the command center from the server or different workstation, results are the same. Commvault server is virtualized if that info is any helpful   

we are configuring a development environment for our commserve software testing 2 virtual machines running on fast storage Let’s call them (commserv01-dev.company.au & commserv02-dev.company.au) with livesync option installed. We want to use a generic name for the web console of commserv-dev.company.au The Commcell console is named commserv-dev which loads okbut the web console loads commserv01-dev     using this doco I tried to get a multihost Digicert signed certificate for the https binding in iis manager https://documentation.commvault.com/11.24/expert/configuring_secured_access_on_web_service_01.htmlIt didn’t work so I had to undo the changes     However I have come across another post which says  that we need to configure for web console and tomcat.   How to configure Commvault Reporting to use HTTPS instead of HTTP ? | Community Do I use the same CA signed certificate in 2 different places but using different ports ? or do we need to use 2 different types of certificate ?One

Hello Commvault Community,  After upgrading the enviroment version from SP24 to SP28, there was a problem with the mechanism for VMware LiveSync. For the SP28 version, information about tags is collected, through which they are replicated/recovered with tags, which we must avoid because we don’t want such a situation. Is it possible to disable this ? Cause its automatically adding to next backup and I'm doubling the resources Thanks,Kamil

I realise that here in the UK we start daylight savings later than they do in the US, but has anybody else experienced any problems with it? Over the weekend, the majority of our commserves running 11.32 saw a large number (between 40 and 60) SQL Server processes killed within 10 minutes of the start of British Summer Time. This largely went unnoticed as far as the Commvault event log was concerned, although one of them did log a couple of 19:152 errors. This only happened on the commserves running 11.32 - all the ones running 11.24 saw no spids killed. I’ve opened a support case, but was wondering if anybody whose clocks changed last week could check their commserve’s SQL Server errorlog for me for the period immediately after the clocks changed (between 02:00 and 02:10 on 31st March for those in the UK).ThanksNeil 

do we have any report/SQL table represents the Tape drive utilization every hour of the day/week? Found a SQL table dbo.MMDriveHistory with data written & duration but how does commvault calculate tape drive Throughput from this table?

Hi all,After some advice on the following if anyone can help? https://documentation.commvault.com/2023e/expert/modifying_salesforce_backup_sets_to_sync_to_database.htmlThe instance where the current Database for the Salesforce Backup Configuration resides needs to be decommissioned.  If I was to change the Commvault configuration to use a new database on a different instance what would be the consequence of this?I would assume a full backup would need to be run of the Salesforce Org to build a new copy in the Database, but would this affect any restore capability for jobs that used the previous database configuration such as record level restores or could this be retrieved from the related backup jobs?  I would think that record level restores would not be possible due to the fact they are only supported in the most recent backup cycle, but is there anything else that requires consideration? Just trying to understand the impact of this operation so any help/advice appreciated. Thanks i

This is with respect to Oracle clients.This feature is disabled by default, I would assume that there must be a reason as table level restores seems to be an awesome feature.Seems like a huge pro.What are the cons?

Hello Everyone,My network security guru is asking if there is a way to restrict access to the Commcell Console and Admin Console so it can only be accessed on the Commserve server.  I am aware of role based security and the Two-Factor.  But they just want it that the only way to access them is from the one server, or maybe our Jump-boxes that we use to access all our internal servers.  Hopefully someone knows if this is even possible or if we just need to go with Two-Factor and they will have to be happy with that solution.  Thanks for any help.

I am attempting to add a client to multiple groups using the following rest api. REST API - POST Client Properties (commvault.com)  The api returns 200 and some Json but does nothing. what am I missing here?

Hi, we’re on 11.32.43. We are only able to keep our indexes for a week, since our subclient is so large that the indexes for it are 600GB. So of course that means that whenever one of our technicians needs to do a browse and restore from this subclient, they get the “Index reconstruction in progress. 1 jobs in reconstruction list" message.I cannot find documentation that states how to track progress of these index reconstruction jobs. They do not show in the Job Controller list like regular backup and restore jobs. We just want to have a location to look in so that when an index reconstruction completes, our technicians know it’s okay to try their browse and restore again. Thanks.

We are provisioning a new NetApp E-series storage array for backups. From performance perspective, are there benefits to having separate disk pools for backups and aux copies compared to having one pool for both? 

Hello all,Just in case you are seeing similar errors in the last day or so. There appears to have been an update to the MSFT APIs we use to protect mail in M365. You may see errors similar to:"Not allowed to access Non IPM folder"Or you notice that the CVMailBackup.exe process crashes on the access nodes.My early understanding of this issue is that we have released an updated MR for the versions below that may resolve this. SP28: Install 11.28.111 or higher SP32: Install 11.32.48 or higher SP34: Install 11.34.20 or higher I have had one customer update to this on their access nodes and are not currently seeing any errors.

Hi All, We have a huge file system ( ~40TB with over 300M files ).It can be backed up with NDMP or to be mounted as NFS on a file server.The backup takes a lot of time to complete.What are the best practices / options in Commvault for such FS ?Block level backup maybe ??  Thanks
