usually while creating schedule i select sql server agent for sql db backup and i get below option for transaction log  in the new version i am not getting this option any idea

Hello guys, we had issues with DR backups which were failing in the phase of “backup to disk”. We are using cifs share mounted under the D:\ drive and folder D:\DRBackup. As a test, I`ve changed the local drive to a real local drive D:\DRbackup_2 (no cifs share on behind). DR backups were running there fine. So I decided to change configuration back to cifs share mount, but I am getting the error:Failed to set [Backup Metadata Folder] for [DR Backup] with error [Failed to save Disaster Recovery Destination in CommServe database because of folder [D:DrBackup] is already being used for Disaster Recovery. ].When checking commserveDR.log I see several error messages, not sure where to focusCommservDR::getDbLogUsage() - Failed to get log usage with error [100] for database [Troubleshooting]EvLogs::GenerateRequestSummary() - XML UnSerialization failed for str [] errorCode=[XML Message unserilization failed]CommservDR::CopyFileImpersonate() - CQiDirectory::GetSpaceUsage failed to check space

I'd like to ask you a question about commvault license sku.I want to know the difference between CV-DR-VM and CV-BKRC-VM10 SKU.No CV-DR-VM required for CV-BKRC-VM10 purchase?Do I need to purchase CV-DR-VM to use VMware Replication (LIVESYNC) capabilities? Or can I also use the feature with CV-BKRC-VM10?

All,The VM based backup of my Access nodes with VSA installed is failing with the backup trying to access the ESXi host over port 902 for NBD backup instead of Hot Add. These same Access Nodes are used to sucessfully perform backup and restores of other VM’s on the Hypervisors using Hot Add but fail their own backup using the same method. They are using same storage policy as the other VM’s and even triggering a single VM backup of one of the 2 of them fails with the same issue. Can VSA (Access Nodes) be backed up by VSA through themselves OR do I need to deploy IDA agent and back them up that way?  

good morning, i resell our commvault backup shared infra as a multitenant backup service to final customers (basic backup of windows/linux clients and servers, just fileservers no db or other).they choose between different retention policies, but all are quite the same, an incremental backup at day with retention of (15/30/60/120/365) AND a synthetic full each weekend (just in case the incremental chain got “corrupt”….).actually our customers pay for the TOTAL logical used space for their own backup.the problem is that longer retention periods costs much more in space AND price (a synthetic full each week for 1 year it’s a lot).they demand to have just something like a forever incremental, with 1 full at the begin on the chain of backup and conseguent incrementals, and every day the 1day full will “shift” do right to become the new full...(something like that so the no longer pay also for each week synt full).QUESTION:how can i lower the fulls/synthetic fulls to lower logical disk spac

Hello everyone,I have an internal request to restore the OneDrive for an employee that left a few months ago.  When I connect to Command Center > Protect > Office 365 > OneDrive_V2 > and search for the requested user, I don’t get any results.  I know in the old Java GUI there’s an option to include “Deleted Accounts” when searching for Exchange mailboxes.  Is there something similar for OneDrive restores?Ken

Running version 11.24.116Hi, We’ve changed storage policy for some sql subclients. Now we can’t see the other storage policy we changed from. In the Storage Policy tab of Properties window.We also checked other subclients with the second storage policy set from start. The first storage policy can’t be seen there either. Is it a setting somewhere or is it a bug in 11.24.116?

Hi all!I have a problem. I can't restore the database after a backup. The backup itself goes through without errors, but when restoring the DB, the task freezes at 5% and after some time error 30:299 appears.Commvault ver. 11.23.42SQL server 2019.Volume DB 1.3 TB.Log File volume 255 Gb.What I tried:Increased time VDI 2700,I tried to restore it as files,I tried restoring to different servers.SQLiDA event id 1 error appears in the events file.Previously, this database was restored without problems. I do not understand what the problem is. The SQLiDA log file with an error is attached. Can anyone help?

Hi,i’m using Simpana 11.20.36 and try from VM guests files and folders a restore.Then i get this error:Browse failed due to error while mounting virtual machine: Internal error during Pseudomount of Guest disks.Then i try an relative actuall update and i get the same error.Can someone tell me what causes this error?RegardsDennis

Hello we were doing an NDMP restore of some CIFS files.The snapshot we needed is present on commvault, visible on the array and also on NEtapp. We are restoring from vault. NDMP credentials are configured both on priamry and secondary site. restore fails with a nonsense error: “Operation failed for path [/de04xxx022fsa01/v_c_msql_BD_PROD_VV_1/.snapshot/SP_2_3566761_348xxx_1694037804]Please check if volume [/de04xxx022fsa01/v_c_msql_BD_PROD_VV_1] and snapshot [SP_2_3566761_348877_xxxxx37804] exist. “I can browse easily from snapshot when using recovery in commvault. Files are visible. Snapshot is healthy. Different media agents were tested. When restoring i have checked the box “restore from snapshot” but also tried without checking the box. The issue is the same. We are restoring to the same SVM /machine/ but also tried to restore onto our Media agent but it failed to. I am wondering where is the problem. Have anybody experienced such behavior?ThX for every hint. Laci

Hi,We are trying to create Commvault HA (Active and passive node) in our lab.We create to Commserve server in lab on the same network.When we are trying to install Commserver Failover instance on the commserve we are facing an error. we checked log file and found - 8400 port already is in use.and installation failed. Please give me suggestions and or assist me about the setup.

We are trying to only use the content indexing (meta data in documents) feature, not the backups, and I was tasked with setting this up.  When looking into the documentation it looks like a backup is required since the content indexing is done “offline” on the backup.  I’m just looking for confirmation that a backup is required and that there is no other way to use the content indexing feature without a backup. I tried asking support but they didn’t want to answer and told me to contact my Account Manager who hasn’t replied to any emails or phone calls.  Hoping somebody here can answer this question so we can figure out if we need to find another solution or to go ahead with the install.

Dear all,I hope you can help me to better understand the Synthetic Full option availability. In a VMware virtualised environment, all our VMs are grouped into a bunch of subclients for which I can perform a Synthetic Full backup, after right-clicking on the subclient name and selecting Backup command from the popup menu.Now, if the same sequence is run from one of the VMs, from the Client Computers tree, the Synthetic Full option is not available.In both cases above the subclient belong to agent type Virtual Server. What am I missing? Thank you in advanceGaetano

Can you please let me know the DR backup setup in Commcell console. 

I'm attempting to install Commvault v10 SP15 on a new physical server, and I've previously succeeded in installing it on virtual machines without any issues. However, when trying to install it on the physical server, I encounter an error message that reads, 'please make sure that your computer is connected to the internet and retry.' Despite verifying that the internet connection is working correctly through testing and disabling antivirus software, the Commvault installer continues to prevent the download.I am seeking advice or suggestions for addressing this issue. It's worth noting that due to external constraints, installing Commvault v11 is not currently an option. If anyone has faced a similar situation or has any recommendations for resolving this problem, I would greatly appreciate your assistance."   

Hello, I have 3 libraries in different environments but these are hosted in the same commserv, we work with weekly and monthly tapes and we want these tapes can be used in any of the 3 libraries, the problem we are facing is that if the tape A was mounted in the library A to mount this tape which already has the expired information in the Library B for example, the solution we have at the moment is to give it delete manually and discover but we want it to be something much more dynamic that simply uses it even if it comes from another library. What also generates me another doubt to be the 3 libraries in the same commserv should know that these tapes are already expired?
