Hello, I need to take intellisnap snapshot backup of oracle/sap oracle database once a day with no backup copy.If i just schedule default subclient (selective online) and not schedule archive subclient, will there be any issues during recovery? Thanks 

Hi all newbie here. just a quick question please,  While trying to restore a Azure vm in Metallic to Azure out of place, I get an error failed to create the container for Virtual disks under the storage account.  Should i speak with our Cloud people about this first before troubling Commvault. as i may not be choosing the correct storage account.   Regards  Tony 

i have used an account which was part of master group for all commvault configuration . later i have customized the permission of this user to minimum. does this affect any configuration which i was perfromed before

I am working on VM onboarding PS automation for CV, and I can not find the way how to trigger backup for 1 specific VM (which is final step for onboarding process in our company)The only solution I found is: Backup-CVVirtualMachine, but unfortunately it returns me 404 error.Other ways allow to run backup for Backup Sets only which is not ok for me 😐Is there any other way I missing?Thank you

Hi all!I’ve been trying to solve some issue, but I’m out of ideas already. I’m preparing new Commvault solution for OLVM (Oracle Linux Virtualization, based on oVirt). One of the VMs (let’s name it VM_RDM) has physical RDM disks attached, which are being backed up externally, outside of CV. I need to exclude them from CV backup, but sadly I didn’t find any solution for OLVM.My VM_RDM is backing up properly, but I’m getting status “Backed up with 1/more errors” with description “physical RDM disks are not supported”. I know it doesn’t impact my backups, but is there any way to get rid of this communicate? I can’t use filesystem backup due to requirements. I tried disk filters in “content” page, setting up different plans, subclients etc, but it just doesn’t work. I tried additional setting “IgnoreUnsupportedDisks” (https://documentation.commvault.com/additionalsetting/details?name=%22IgnoreUnsupportedDisks%22&id=1318), but it didn’t change anything as well.  I found this topic which

Hello,We have an hyperscale environment with 3 nodes that works with SFP 10G - we upgraded our network infrastructure Can we just bring the Hyperscale node offline (https://documentation.commvault.com/11.24/expert/stopping_and_starting_hyperscale_x_reference_architecture_node.html) replace all SFPs (from the 10G to the 25G SFPs)and it would work? or there is some scripts  that need to be run after we replace the SFPs?Best regards,

i have a DR site with a vmware vsphere cluster. I use commvault replication to this DR site. I would like to monitor how much date is transferred after compression and dedupe.Where could i found this information ? I have a LAN to LAN 10Mb/s link and i want to understand what is transferred over the WAN.Regards

Hello, What is best practices Software Compression setting to reduces storage space? Automaticly its on SP but when are you suing compressie on Client and Media Agent? Or maybe turn compression off?

What’s the best way to find all PSTs from all my laptops and AWS Workspaces? I’d try File Analytics to search for .PST from our PCs but unsuccessful due to 500+ objects. The WebConsole was frozen. Had to kill the task. TIA 

Hello All, I working with API connection. I would like to receive where is located VM backup JOB by API. I can get job ID for VM, but I can’t received which copy store that data from storage policy. Good question how I can get it? 

 We are trying to remove the instance with API , however we cannot find any endpoints on the swagger .Could you please guide us to deal with this. ThanksSatish

HelloI created clients tags.Then I have a dynamic group of clients in V2 indexing which group together these tagged clientsWhen I create a Schedule to backup the entire group, the backup does not start.Do you have an idea ?Thanks

Hi,Just a quick question on the Bonded Topology for HyperScale X Reference Architecture.I can see from the BOL that the Storage Pool IP Address should be resolvable to the CommServe server !! Is this a new setting ? I have seen HSX config’s where the storage pool ip address is on a 192.168 range and the CommServe on a 10.10 range with no second nic for a 192.168 range. Thanks  

Hello,Could you say please, if I have Cloud storage in Azure, it is accessed by local MA with local DDB.Are there any optimization's during direct restore from cloud? I mean, if you have 10 TB application , that consumes 3 TB of cloud storage due to deduplication optimization's, how big amount of data will be read during restore?Thanks!

Hi,i try to backup my OneDrive users with Metallic.Configuration seems ok. Teams and Exchange Online works fine.If i try to backup OneDrive i get the message that the subclient is empty or not vaild.How can i solve this?RegardsDennis 

Hello,I have a client that is backed up as a virtual instance plus a native SQL agent. Now I’d Like to change that and remove from virtual and add a File&Systems agent. Though it seems it is already installed, as seen below, but I don’t see the agent under the client.Is there a way to add the license for it? I can’t reinstall it it seems since it’s already there? Anyone know how I should proceed?BRHenke      

We are currently looking into enabling the PassKey feature for one of our ‘Companies’ associated to our Multi-Tenant CommCell.The feature meets all the requirements to allow us, as the MSP, to support the customer from a BAU perspective without being able to view the sensitive data we will be backing up.However, I need to explicitly know that if the customer who will hold the Passkey loses this, can it be recovered from the CSDB?The customer will enter the passkey via remote session so as the MSP we will not have any record of it but need to be able to provide a solution in the event they misplace the Passkey.Thanks in advanced

Hi Team,On our Linux server, there are folders named /builds/ in different paths and there are many non-critical files in these folders. We want to exclude all folders that are /builds/ on the server and remove them from the backup.If we define exclude as "***/builds/" in this request, will I achieve my goal? Thanks in advance.

1, Commvault support Data domain from 11.32,  it only support DD hardware, or also support DDVE(Data domain virtual edition)? 2, I write my primary copy to cloud library(Azure storage account), any chance to run AUX. copy to Data domain, want to see my secondary copy on DD

Hello,customer wants to use a storage system with native deduplication option for file services. Are there any known issues in backing up and restoring the system with NAS/NDMP? Or is it useful not to use the storage deduplication?Thanks and regards,Thomas
