Hello All I’m searching for the workflow to migrate sub-clients from vCenter to vCloud director 

i have started a aux copy job with 5 jobs and later i found it is selecting all the new jobs to be copied in the same aux copy basically i want only the jobs which are present at the time of aux copy job started to be replicated can i achieve it only by disabling the below pick data from running backup job do i need to set  QueueConflictingAuxCopyJob to 1

I try to purchase exams like Certified Expert .I saw that the old site https://ea.commvault.com/ are “moved “ to https://commvault.csod.com/loginWhen I try to access on It ALL my old certification are not reported !!!!BUT if I follow the link from old cert.notification (2022) I can still access to the old https://ea.commvault.com where my previous certifications still present .How can I move to get exams for Certified expert 11.XX.X Exams ?Thank you

Hello a user wants does not want Commvault to truncate the transaction log backup. they are already running a job that does that. How do I turn it off off? and specifically on certain SQL instances?

So i have just backed up my Exchange server on Commvault 11.28.68 and I go and restrore some emails and an error shows up saying“Collection is not yet created for this subclient. Check if playback succeeded.”  How do i get this fixed

Hello Team,In case of VMware backup in a HPE StoreOnce (backup repository), I’m wondering what’s the recommended method to deploy the MediaAgent.  Be physical or virtual?In case of virtual, I see the advantage to configure VM backups with hotadd.In case of physical, probably you have more security & reliability, but still looking for best practice.Please for your feedback,Nikos

Hi,New to Commvault. We are trying to create a snap backup of an Oracle database to HPE3Par but this fails. ‘Strange(?)’ thing is that snap backups of the VM work fine. Do i need to configure something on the vmware/3par side? Hi All,CommServe stopped working after the 2023-11 Cumulative Update for Windows server 2019 had been installed.There are some strange issues with the CommServe database. cvd.log:… CheckDatabaseUpgradeInProgressOrRelease() - Product Version [] does not have all required fields.10464 2abc  12/27 14:16:49 ### ValidateDatabase() - Aborting startup as database upgrade is not complete. I am reaching out regarding an issue I have encountered while attempting to use Commvault 11.32.35, specifically with the Command Center.I have followed the installation process diligently, including the implementation of .NET version 3.1.32 as instructed. Unfortunately, the Command Center is not responding as expected.To address this issue, I also attempted the installation using .NET version 8, but the results were equally unsatisfactory.I would greatly appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter. Hello!I’m new on this community, but I’m a CommVault user since 2015. Glad to be here and nice to meet you all!Today I had to urgently (as usual) restore 2 VMs, then I got an email from VMware team saying: “Hey, you missed to write custom attributes on the restored VMs!”Looking at the VMs I noticed that they were right and VMware Custom Attributes were empty. We have +1500 VMs and we use them to keep a log of who installed it, when, which app is running on etc etc.So finally my question is: is there a way to include certain VMware custom attributes in the VSA subclient? And of course restore together with the VM? I don’t want to include all, only the ones I care of.Thanks in advance Stefano

Hi Commvaulters, Can someone advise me with the needed network ports to be open in order to perform an aux copy between 2 MAs.We installed a new MA on a remote site, and we want to open only the needed ports between it and the CS (For communication) and between it and the MAs located on the main site.Please to note that we are running CV version 11.24, I know that the main ports are 8400 for communication and 8403 for data transfer.Is there any other once that needs to be opened ? We want to minimize port opening in order to fully secure the remote MA. Regards.

Hi Team,I have getting the below error while taking the backup from Disk to Tape.(Auxillary copy job failed)Error occured while proccessing chunk [2156267] in media [V_233750], at the time of error in library [STorage Policy Name] and  mount path [[MA3] \\MOUNT PATH], for storage policy [Storage Policy Name] copy [TapeCopy Name] Media agent [MA1]: Backup job [264866]. Unable to setup the copy pipeline, Please check the connectivity between Source MA[MA1] and destination MA [MA01]Please advice or give me any solution for the above issue

I often have a wizard-block defined with a process-block in order to make my workflows clean.The problem is that the workflow end activity doesn't actually kill the workflow it just exits the process block. Is there a way to kill the entire workflow from within the process-block? 

Hi everyone,I’ve a problem, After installing Exchange package on Exchange 2016 on-prem server as shown in documentation, I try to add exchange mailbox agent as shown in https://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11_sp20/article?p=100566.htm and when i try to add a new application type I get a message “Creating this application type is not supported. Use the Exchange Mailbox agent from the Command Center or the Commcell Console”.Plz tell me what to do.

HelloApparently, after successfully backing up some VMs (VMware), commvault is requesting disk consolidation several times in a row (without waiting the first request to finish).This sometimes is causing the VM to be unresponsive. Commvault is being proactive but it is causing downtimes to the environment.1 - can I disable this feature (commvault starting consolidation tasks for the VMs that needs consolidation)?2 - can Commvault skip this VM? I read that commvault would skip VMs that needs disk consolidation. But I am not sure if this is really happening.regards,Pedro

I’m trying to prevent updates from being installed on a specific client.  It is an older client that needs to stay on v9 because the iDA is no longer supported.I am following the suggestion posted here:Is there any way to prevent updates and upgrades from being pushed to a client? | Community (commvault.com)I created the Additional Setting at the client level to test, and then kicked off an Update Software job.  The job ran and it didn’t seem to honor this setting as it showed “Update In Progress” and eventually failed out due to another issue on the box.Can we verify that this should work on v11.24.69, and that the key is correct [bSkipUpdate]?  I also attempted to use the Excluded Machines list from Software Configuration but that didn’t seem to work either (it says on that screen that the list only applies to automatically discovered machines, so I assume this was originally used for install software jobs where there were automatic discovery rules).Also wondering which log I would s

Hello all!We have received a request to update Java on our Commvault Servers - Comservers and media agents.Are there any dependencies between Commvault Services and Java version which we need to keep in mind? Are You aware of any “compatibility” matrix for Java version and Commvault? Can we just easily upgrade Java and should not be worry about Commvault Services?

I created a storage policy and changed the storage policy from one of our Postgres clients to this new one storage policy. Storage Policy used for all Archive Log backups from the old one to new one: SP_PJe-2G.  Data Storage Policy from old one to new one: same SP_PJe-2G.  I ran some Incremental jobs, just log backups, and today I realize that during the Full Backup Job there was a comunication between the new MA server cvault-ma-20 and the old one, cvault-ma-02.  This new storage policy has the following Data Path Properties.  The MA server cvault-ma-02 is not a member of the Storage Pool STGPOOL_SC05.Why the new MA server, cvault-ma-20, is talking to the old MA server cvault-ma-02?  ANOTHER QUESTION: 10.1.66.47 is the other MA server on Storage Pool STGPOOL_SC05. I suppose that there is communication between the client and both of two servers because of deduplicating process.
