This is just an informative message for customers using FREL appliances. In case you upgrade an existing FREL appliances that is based on FR30 or earlier and in case the FREL is unable to connect to the public Internet than the upgrade to FR32 will cause the FREL to go offline. During the upgrade to FR32 it tries to pull some packages from a public repo which is not possible. I have an outstanding ticket for it and the only solution now is to refresh the appliances with the FR32 FREL.I in all honesty also hope development reconsiders the current approach and implement an automatic FREL refresh function that can automatically re-deploy FREL appliances preserving the current configuration using a one-button refresh option. This is a much better approach than offering a solution that can push out FREL OS updates.

Hi,What are the plans for adding OS patches to the Commvault software repository? Same as hyperscale?i know there is a CMR for it for a while. We want to prevent that we need to redeploy the FREL’s each time or do manual actions on the FREL for regular basis. thanks

I received an incremental backup after a full backup, but the date of the file change was 1972. The file does not change, but it is being backed up incrementally.How should we solve it?

Hello  In Commvault, the available snap engines for HPE include HPE 3PAR, HPE EVA clone, and snap. HPE MSA is not listed among these supported engines. so question arises: Does the Commvault HPE IntelliSnap engine provide support for HPE MSA? if yes, which one need to select? thanks

Has anyone kicked the proverbial tires on this yet either from a NAS or S3 target? Curious to know if CV is qualifying it internally or if it’s on anyone’s todo list. 

Due to the lovely time of the year (which is all the time) we have auditors wanting to know every nook and cranny of Commvault. The current ones are wanting to know the full list of each specific process and Services that Commvault would be using on the client and media agent. I found this document <Click Here> inside the documentation which displays certain services and processes, but still missing a few like BlrSvc and CIMgrS. I just need to compile the name, if its a Commvault or OS process or service, and a brief description of what they do.  Is there something like that somewhere? 

Hi,We have a Domino 12.0.2FP1 server, what has succeed daily Notes database backups (Incremental, Full), but transactional backups failed with error: [CreateIndex index processing failed - no index archive files.]::Client [OST0VWMA02] Application [CreateIndex] Message Id [234881129] Error code [14:105]Our Commvault version is 11.28.56The Client and MA have enough free space on disks, MA was restarted. Transaction log backup running for seven hours, error messages are repeated. Uploaded logs are from a short trying, what was killed. But error messages can be seen.Most interesting part of the JobManager.log for me is: “ArchiveMgr Failed to get valid archive file.” and “Set pending cause [CreateIndex index processing failed - no index archive files.]”Can it be any Domino Server issue? Because it is an upgraded Domino server.We have an another Domino 12.0.2FP1 server, where tran log backups has no any issue.Does have anybody

We took on September 25th. The storage policy was set as below. Deduplication: Enabled Retention: set to 1 day and 0 cycles Worm Lock: DisabledOn the 26th, when the retention period had ended, CommVault sent in delete requests to the Cloud Storage for deletion of the metadata and indexes. However, no delete requests were sent for the archived data chunks. Good Day Community,I have a customer that has been using Content Indexing for several years. Now we want to move to the newest Indexing methodology using the NEW Index Server.I know there is absolutely no migration path from one to another. But luckily, the customer has all the backup data sitting on disk. So my strategy is simply to re-index the data using the new methodology, in a new Index Server. I should end up having the same results doing a search since all the will be re-ingested.Is there something else I should be aware of? Or is this the best approach to achieve this?Many thanks in advance for your input.

I’ve started to integrate the api within Databricks. With common script and managed to extract all client / sub Clients using the documentation provided from customer Support.I asked internally to our SysAdmin that manage CommVault,  to give me an extraction of the data from CommVault (All Clients).The list given from sysAdmin does not match with what I extract from API ( Like 4000+ hostname in mismatch).My Question is :Has someone encountered this issue? Shouldn’t route /Client return ALL  and I Mean ALL clients that I see on CommVault application? Why do we encounter a mismatch between API and commVault Extraction?

Hi, I’m looking for some clarification on backup and retention of Onedrive version history. If I’ve understood the backup correctly it will only back up the latest version of an object at every run. As described https://documentation.commvault.com/v11/essential/130942_backups_for_onedrive_for_business.htmlWhat is the reasoning for this limitation? Retention is configured to be kept for a certain time, say 6 months after deletion, how does this affect the version history? Is versions removed from retention 6 months after being overwritten by a new version, or are they removed when the last version of a file is removed?  Regards,John Robert

Hello, TeamI am having this issue when running backup on an oracle database.The backup runs but when it gets to about 80%, It throws an error and goes into pending state. What can be done to resolve this?See error below:

Furthermore, what methods are suggested to avoid issues with corrupted data chunks in cloud storage? Hi Folks,We have a setup where our Commserve is at our corporate office on the west coast. We have a remote locations in the both the Midwest and east coast. Both the corporate office (CPO) and the remote locations have their own media agents.Today I noticed that as a remote location aux copy to Metallic was processing, that it was going to our corporate office media agent first (due to the mount path?). This aux copy (just over 500gb) took almost 17 hours.With the mount path being at CPO, does that mean the aux copy goes from the Midwest to CPO to Metallic? And if so, should I create another Metallic Storage pool for the Midwest and East coast, or should I make a Metallic storage pool for each location?Or does it really matter? Hopefully, this makes sense! Thanks for looking.

Good morning, We have 2 sets of databases that need to by in sync in terms of their refresh times.  I’ll call them “ERP” and “APPS”.  The “ERP” databases will remain on Oracle for some time, but the “APPS” we are moving to MS SQL. We currently use Oracle with ZFS to snap development refreshes on a periodic but sometimes changing schedule. We have this entire process automated via OS scripts that check for a trigger, and when found, consume this “trigger” file and proceed with the recreates, which dump and reload development users and permissions during the process.The “APPS” db has ~ 100 schemas, and our plan is to convert these into 100 MS SQL databases.  After this DB is migrated, I need to have them refreshed on a known but sometimes changing schedule.I’ve read the thread here which explains more or less how to script the refreshes:

I'm investigating if we could blend in Activate FSO to fulfill an archiving use-case, but according to the documentation it seems Activate FSO does not allow you to pick the results and perform an archive action. Is this correct? And if that is the case then what's the reason that
