Hello,Commvault 11.28.115We have Private Metrics Reporting server installed on separated VM. The VM has Windows Server 2016 and SQL 2016. We need to migrate to newer VMware environment, so I assumed it’s good chance to do software refresh. So I deployed new VM with Windows Server 2022 and my plan was to install Commvault with Metrics Reporting and import DBs from old server and then switch to new server.First problem was I was unable to import DB because there was some problem with DB upgrade. So I decided to create new DB. But the problem is the webconsole isn’t working. Site is loading and tomcat service after some time stops, or, after restarting IIS, the “Please wait, server are starting...” site appears and that’s it.I looked into webserver logs and there is 26. error locating server/instance like this:WebServer:3128 3 10/30 20:59:47 ### ### dmConf::GetMongoConnectionString - Exception Message [A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connect

Hi,I had a training on ea.commvault.com now since has moved to new portal. I do not see the old trainings. I had certification pending. Mailed my concern to registrar@commvault.com but no help.Please assist.

We want to use encryption for our backup to ensure that our backup data is secure, and when we restore the backup, the decryption key must be required. 

Hello Community,I have 2 different hyperscale enviroments, and i would like to decomiss the old one and shutdown the servers. I have a storage pool and a storage policy with some large time retained jobs. And almost 95% of the library is freeI want to copy or migrate this data to the other hyperscale with his own storage pool and policiesI’m searchin through documentation and aux policies but i’m not sure is what i need if there would be some posts referring this topic, please could you forward me? Thx

Hi, i believe that there is away to copy or make a shadow of a specific VM from comser to another one like active and passive, but unfortunately i don’t know how to perform that task.  

Redhat openshift virtualization are supported by Commvault ?I’ve know that RHEV are supported. Recently RHEV has been sun set and replaced by OpenShift Virtualization. Does CV fully supported backup VM that run on openshift virtualization ? 

Is there any way I can use YARA rules to search the backups for threats? eg: I want to know if we have malware on our fileserver backups so if i restore I don't re-infect

Are there any workaround to migrate from VMware to OLVM? CV can migrate from VMware to Oracle VM/OpenStack and migrate from Oracle VM to Red Hat Virtualization (OLVM). Thank you.

Hi all, I’ve been starting to look at Data Insights, and Sensitive Data Governance and went to create a test project to try it out and got the following error:Error creating EDiscoveryUser.Exception:User password doesn't follow minimum complexity requirementsIs that complexity requirement coming from CV itself?Is it looking at our domain requirements?Is this user local to CV or a domain user?Is it possible to assign a user object?Just looking to find out more about what it’s doing at this stage, thanks.G

Hello,I’m trying to get our Azure local POC added into Commvault. I’m able to backup VMs and can restore out of place VMs but the restored VMs are not viewable in Azure Portal. Is there a time delay in synchronization? The restored VMs were viewable in Windows Admin Center. Thanks,Clayton

Hi, Cannot delete media agent from Commvault. Server no longer exists and CV fails to delete it from itself. Hi Team, We have an issue with one of our Aux Copies, which for reasons unknown has poor rates of throughput compared to near identical Aux Copies.I would like to see if anyone has an understanding of the values in the CvPerfMgr logfile so we can further troubleshoot.We are writing to a target Cloud copy. Other SP’s write there with very good rates of throughput (10 GB/Hr).My “problem” SP Copy is hovering around 300 GB\HR,  AND we have a large backlog of copy data.I have checked the basics such as Q&I times, local server and DDB performance and I can’t see anything obvious. Q&I times on the Primary are ok (roughly 1800).Q&I times on the Secondary are around 630. CPU utilisation on both servers (we are using partitioned dedupe for both primary and secondary) is excellent (maybe 30 or 40% whilst Aux Copies and backups are running).So, i then took a look at the CvPerfMgr logfile, but I could do with some further information.I can see a reference t reader speed possibly being 1

Team,As we know , if we have to perform push installation of commvault agent . SSH from Commserver to Client should work . In my Env SSH works for some clients while not for others.Do we have any pre-check mechanism in Commvault where we can validate the client is ready for push-installation or not . I have done some restores from M365 OneDrive And exchange online from Commvault Cloud ( Metallic)in Aprik 2025 .Now my auditor wants to see which restore i did in month of April , i dont see name of user in job history.The job history only says, source servers and destination servers ( app name) and not name of users for which i did restore.When i click view logs , it says “ no data available”.is it by design or some issue?

Hi,we have a media agent with a b2d library and we want to migrate this to another new windows system.After that we want to reinstall the “old” media agent and hold them for HA.What is best practise to migrate an existing media agent to a new one?What is best practise for HA for the media agents? According to documentation, both azure files and azure disk supports snapshots of filesystem.https://documentation.commvault.com/2024e/essential/system_requirements_for_kubernetes.htmlBut I’ve tested the backups of AKS now with two different clusters. and both of them defaults with an warning in the log:Will be mounting live volume [pvc] to worker pod [container] since it does not support volume snapshotsAre there any other configuration that needs to be made to ensure azure files uses snapshots? Regards,John Robert

Hello to all,In O365 Exchange Online restore operations, I've noticed a 'Show Deleted Items' button. The documentation states, 'When messages from previous backups have been deleted, you can show or hide the deleted messages.'https://documentation.commvault.com/2024e/expert/viewing_deleted_mail_messages.htmlHowever, its functionality isn't clear to me.I also tested deleting an email from a backup (following screenshot), but then I couldn't see it again, even with the 'Show Deleted Items' option enabled! Please for your feedback.Best regards,Nikos

I would like to know if it is possible to use a backup made in VMware and perform the restore in a RedHat Openshift environment.In the cross hypervisor table it is not clear whether the conversion is possible or not. This issue arises when it comes to keeping backups for a few years and migrating the infrastructure from VMware to OpenShift.

We have Zabbix MYSQL database and every backup converts to Full even for incremental. [Nothing to backup in incremental job as Binary Logging is disabled on this MySQL server. The job is being converted to a full backup operation.]
