I would like to create a secondary copy of tape backups to aux copy existing tape Archive backups to a newly configured AWS cloud library. This is using a Windows 2022 VM as a new mediaagent.We have an AuxCopy schedule which copies Primary data from all these tape SP copies in one data centre to a matching copy in a second data center.  a)12Month-LTO5, b)5 Years- LTO5, c)7 years-LTO5 ,d)10 Years-LT05  there is no new data, but we need to retain it & I would like to decommission the tape library as soon as possible   1) If I add a new DDB disk to the mediaagent & enable De Duplication as per this doco - Creating a Selective Copy Using a Library Does it work to reduce the data size going to the cloud library ?Because if I use the recommended method in Creating a Storage Policy Copy with Deduplication , it says “Secondary copies are automatically associated with the System Created Autocopy schedule policy.“I take that to mean I would need to immediately edit the association to onl

Hi CV Support, Is there any release notes for 11.36 which outlines new features in 11.36 when compared to previous release?I reached frontline on support portal, but they said there is no such link or document. I see release notes for other backup vendors, not sure why it is not available for World’s top Backup product. I believe every Commvault Customer’s deserve to know what is new features in new release. I know documentation is available, but no one can read complete BoL just to know the new features in release.

Hi Team,One of my customer having seventeen-node HSX 3.x cluster. They have 12 drive tape library and planning to connect 6 drives out 12 with HSX through to perform aux copy.Here is my doubt to outline the solution.Do I need to zone all the MA with tape library or only six MA? If six MA, how do I choose those six MA alone? Can you share your thoughts/inputs. TIA,Mani 

I experienced slow incremental/synthetic backups due to limited throughput. I would like to understand if changing the default UNC path and indexing on the DDB will affect the backup process.

Hi,We’re running ver: 11.32.6 since a week back.Now we’re getting the following error for one of our MA’s.“Error Code: [13:244]Description: [Media write operation failure] [Dedupe disk media] [There is not enough space on the disk.]Source: xxxx, Process: cvd” When I check disk we’ve got a bit over 2.2TB free space on disk which equals to 56% free disk. 

Hi All,  In our environment, the commvault backup data to disk storage then duplicate to tape, can we delete/purge specific backup data on disk storage only?

After upgrading from 11.32 to 11.36.28, some backups on the Azure stack fail with this error:Unable to create a virtual machine snapshot of [x]. [Failed to fetch a Valid SAS Token. Could not find member 'fileFormat' on object of type 'AccessData'. Path 'fileFormat', line 1, position 57. Code=BadRequest, HTTP Code=400-Bad Request] Please check the virtual machine snapshot tree. Any help?

Can anyone point me to a graph that shows what these color/designs mean in the Client Storage Utilization by Storage Policy?  Each one represents a client and I cant find anything depicting what they represent.

Morning,   Is it possible to schedule client throttling? I’m getting users complaining of sudden drops in bandwidth at odd times of the day, and when it happened to a tech, he was able to pinpoint it to a backup in progress. It dropped performance from 2 Gb/s to under 100 Mb/s, briefly, but it was very noticeable to all on that segment. Thanks!Roger

Hello Commvault Community We had backed up two very important firewall devices (Linux) which sits in Australia East and the media agent that is holding the backup sits in Western Europe.  The job gets so far then bombs out with error 91:145.  I’ve logged a call with support but was wondering if anyone had come across such issues before.   Many thanksTonyQ

Hi, we are testing the file archiving on an isilon and the archiving itself works fine but it does not create any stubs.Error code: [72:106]Description: Warning: Job completed partially successful: Stubbing did not happenWe tested the same on a Netapp share where archiving and stubbing works fine.Does anyone have had any similar issues?Thanks

Hello,  We have the following Secondary Copy to LTO9 Tape Retention configured across all our storage policies. I want to see what others are doing for extended tape copies to optimize utilization, based on raw tape media capacity, we are using more media than we expected due to the mixed retention not fully allowing the typical son, father, grandfather graduation.  Also, does Commvault have a Media Calculator Estimator similar to Veeam’s?https://www.veeam.com/calculators/simple/vbr/tape TIA ! Good day! I’ve got some strange problem. After upgrade from 11.28 to 11.32.69 database backups stopped working with errorError Code: [19:1942]Description: The RBS Store Client option is not selected. Please configure it and resubmit the job.We are using BLOB storage in content database. MS RBS.msi is installed and configured on SharePoint server (before upgrade backups worked fine). Now I can’t find where to enable RBS Store Client option.I’ve tried to create new subclient, reinstall agents on SharePoint server with now luck. Could anyone direct me, where can I enable this option?Thanks in advance.

Hello guys,is there an equivalent available for Plans, like available for Storage Policies, where I can use a different target for transactionlogs and archive logs, when assigning a StoragePolicy to a subclient or instance. ?I formerly used NonDedup Storage Policies as a transaction log Policy linked into the Dedup Storage Policy used for database backups.When associating a dabase storage policy, the correct NonDedup policy has been automatically assigned to the transactionlog part of instance or sublient configuration.Cannot find it in plans and having problems when trying to assign them using plan rules.(currently running on 11.32.73)RgdsKlaus

Hello Community I hope someone can help?  I need to test a new VPN line our network department have activated to send data from our on prem media agent up to cloud storage for infinite copies.  Unfortunately our month end jobs are not on a schedule and copy data up, as and when it comes in.  Is there a way to copy data (jobs) from one copy to the month end copy then run an aux copy on demand so i can test the routing of this traffic? Any help or guidance would be much appreciated. thanksTonyQ 

Hello Guys,I am trying to restore a Shrepoint online file but there is no option to use uncheck “ Overwrite existing file”moreover, there is no option to create a folder and then restore so a to avoid accridental overwrite.why is it so?
