Hi Team,If we use third party Key management server such as AWS KMS with Commvault , will there be any impact on backups and recovery throughput or performance .Iam assuming that Encryption keys retrieval is faster when its present in CS database as compared to retrieve keys from third part KMS  ? Let me know if my understanding is not right .Also , during a backup or recovery job does encryption keys retrieval from CS DB or third party KMS happen only 1 time or it will be continuous for each and every block/chunk ?

Hello All, We are working on encrypting all of our jobs (backups) via software encryption on the policies. While setting it up I was curious on how the option “No Access” works. Would we be given the option to store the decryption key somewhere else or is it all stored in Commvault regardless? If it is stored in Commvault how do we get to the key to save it for later decryption use. I know “Via Media Password” has it stored in the library and now I wonder if it is possible to get to that decryption key as well. Thank you all for the help! We have just updated to 11.24.38 and were expecting to be able to exclude Teams sites from SharePoint backups. The release documentation for MR38 has the following two entries:SharePoint Online: v2 - missing option to Exclude Teams sites. 5118, 5121, 5122 Adding support to be able to exclude Team sites from SharePoint Online configuration. 5131However, I cannot see anything in Command Center nor can I find anything in the online documentation on how to add this. Is this done at a content level or via additional settings? We are using O365 V2 agents for the Teams and SharePoint backups.

Hi..Sorry if this is a stupid question but how do I run a copy- only backup of an AG DB on a replica of my own choice?When trying to run them locally on a replica, the AG DBs are skipped...... Setting the additional setting, nBackupAGDBsViaActualInstance with an value of '1' doesn't seems to make a difference either.AG DBs are still being "Skipped from collect"..  The "Offload full backup job to secondary replica" found in the Command Center doesn't seem to let me specify on which replica to run the backup..  So how do I do this...? CVLT version: v11.24.29. Thank you,.. Best regardsRubeckDK

Hello Team,Just want check the best practice of configuration for VM's scheduling policy. We have 250 VM's including critical and non-critical, Based on critical and non-critical the Server Backup plan is created. While creating SBP (server Backup plan)  the schedule policy automatically created and associated with SBP.Now we don't want run all the VM's in same scheduling time and will run batch by batch in different backup sub client jobs.Please advise the best way for scheduling option. Thanks and Regards,Anand

Hi Community ,Is there any SAP HANA expert here ? We are facing below serious issues with HANA Production backup --Issues –When one of the mount path in library reaches its reserve space during HANA backup job , Instead of HANA backup routing to another mount path of the same library which has sufficient free space,  backup jobs goes to hang status . We have to finally kill backup job from Commvault as it never comes out of hang status or fail on its own , after killing the HANA backup job it creates hang session on DB which doesn’t get cleared on its own and requires a DB restart which becomes an outage for mission critical production database .SAP has clearly stated that this is not a bug with existing HANA version.Let me know if anyone has experienced same issue or aware about this issue with HANA Backups ?

I have had issues with installing Commvault software package 11:25:19 to any server in Azure.  The network team has ensured me that there is no port restrictions.  We did a test using Wireshark during the install from Commserve to the agent.  It drops the software on it just fine, however the we noticed ACK packets dropping off.  The main issue is the agent does not register with the Commserve.  This has caused me no end of pain.  My account has full rights on both servers, ports 135, 139, 445 and 8400 are open.  My account has full rights on the registry including HLM and and all sub folders.  The WMI has the correct security settings on CIMV2 also.  Here is a extract of the log that we are seeing.“8988  1     03/25 14:17:55 ### ### ### - Showing dialog : RunFirewallDaemonViewModel .......8988  6     03/25 14:17:55 ### ### ### - Skipping auto detection of HTTP proxy for interactive installation.8988  6     03/25 14:17:55 ### ### ### - Initializing firewall daemon: szSourcePath=C:\Prog

HiV11 FR24I have to setup a new plan for Office 365, as we setup a plan when we retired a Media Agent a while ago as a ‘Plan Type’ - Server and not ‘Office365’ Now I have created a new plan, but not migrated any jobs - as at no point did it ask me what Disk Library that it should write the backups to Which library is it going to use and where can I configure it? I do have an Access Node - but that has no library I’m very confused, as I rarely use the Command Center and this is in effect our first plan Thanks for your help Mark 

I followed the procedure described on the documentation and noticed that the command ./cvsecurity.py enable_protection -i InstanceIDdidn’t add SELinux context to one of our mount points. This mount point hold a valid mount path from Commvault. I think a tab character between “timeout” value and the last two “fields” (fs_freq and fs_passno) messed up things.     I ran the command again and the Commvault command skipped all of the mount points. Do I have to add it manually?

Hello guys, We plan to upgrade the CommServe from SP16 to SP24 with a hardware refresh (Install it on a new server).We’ve found the procedure on the documentation, but one of the steps got us confused. On the “Preparing the Old CommServe Computer for Shutdown” in step 4, it is stating that we have to install the latest Commvault Service Pack.   Does that mean that we have also to upgrade the old CS (Actual CS that is running) which is now SP16 to SP24 before installing the SP24 on the new server ? Kind regards.

Hi, We have an aux copy job that copys to tape with retention 16 days.In the aux copy job you can choose ‘Automatically select Full Backups at frequency’ with values at ‘All Fulls’, ‘Hourly Fulls’ up to ‘Yearly Fulls’ and ‘Advanced’.And then you can choose ‘First full backup’ or ‘Last full backup’. For the moment the frequency is set to Weekly Fulls (Week starts on Monday) and First full backup. If we change frequency to ‘All’/’Hourly’ or ‘Daily’ and to Last full backup.Does the frequency only control how often the system checks if there is a new full backup and then make the copy only if there is a new full backup or will it copy the same fullbackup several times during the retention time in case there is no new full backup?Does frequency ‘All’ meen that it will copy as sone as there is a new full backup?
