Hello,have anyone experience with backing up VMs when VMware Native Key Provider is beeing used?One of our customers is thinking about encrypting the VMs for security reasons. From what I saw in the documentation the VMware Native Key Provider is only working for VMWare infrastructure products.I am not quit sure how this will impact the backup regarding to, ddb increase, if the data will be browsable with/without an agent installed.Any thoughts about this topic?

Hi Team,When the pre-post script is run, does Commvault only look at exit code=0 or exit code=1? Are there any other exit codes we can check?

I have comcell server which takes backup of all my Physical and Virtual Machines. I have few servers which are on DMZ network and cannot connect to comcell server. I have setup a Virtual Machine. Which has access to both DMZ network and Comcell. Can I use this server to take backup of the DMZ network servers. if so what all are the requisites?

Hi Vaulters, Our customer had some concerns regarding two DR scenarios, in which your guidance would be much appreciated. Below both scenarios :In case of loss of a MediaAgent, how can the data be restored from the storage bay ? Do we have to install a MediaAgent from Scratch ? Knowing that we have a second MediaAgent. In the same case, how about DDB, can it be rebuilt from the Storage Bay backup images ? Our customer also has secondary copies for each storage policy on Tape, how can they restore the data in case of a complete loss of the Infra (Only Tape library remaining) ? Is there any way to rebuild the CS from the tape ? Same for the MediaAgents ?We heard about Commvault’s Media Explorer, but didn’t get what it does exactly, and if it is the main solution for rebuilding the CS et MAs metadata, is it compatible for Tape also ? Kind regards

I upgraded from 11.30.80 to 11.32.35 and lost access to the Command Center.  After the upgrade, Chrome started reporting “Your connection is not private” and “the website sent back unusual and incorrect credentials”.  Even though my certificate was still valid, I had my network guy generate a new commandcenter.pfx file using the same password as the old file.  I copied the file to D:\program files\commvault\ContentStore\Apache\conf on my web server then stopped and started Tomcat.  Now when I attempt to go to Command Center now, I get: 404 Not Found.I *suspect* this is more of an upgrade issue than it is a certificate issue.  Does anyone have any suggestion on what to check?  I found this post which had the same problem but what worked for them doesn’t seem to help me.  If CommVault staff see this, I have ticket 240112-474 opened but don’t seem to be getting any response.Ken

Using continues replication for a number of VM”s. Some TB’s large. Question is this.When a failover is done. Does it take up double the space? Like is a whole additional VM created and the ‘replicated’ VM still existing in VMWare? Example: Live Syncing 1TB VM.-Failover-Do know hove 2TB of space used on the datastore?

Hello, I need to take intellisnap snapshot backup of oracle/sap oracle database once a day with no backup copy.If i just schedule default subclient (selective online) and not schedule archive subclient, will there be any issues during recovery? Thanks 

i have used an account which was part of master group for all commvault configuration . later i have customized the permission of this user to minimum. does this affect any configuration which i was perfromed before

Hi,Just a quick question on the Bonded Topology for HyperScale X Reference Architecture.I can see from the BOL that the Storage Pool IP Address should be resolvable to the CommServe server !! Is this a new setting ? I have seen HSX config’s where the storage pool ip address is on a 192.168 range and the CommServe on a 10.10 range with no second nic for a 192.168 range. Thanks  

Hello,Could you say please, if I have Cloud storage in Azure, it is accessed by local MA with local DDB.Are there any optimization's during direct restore from cloud? I mean, if you have 10 TB application , that consumes 3 TB of cloud storage due to deduplication optimization's, how big amount of data will be read during restore?Thanks!

Hello,I have a client that is backed up as a virtual instance plus a native SQL agent. Now I’d Like to change that and remove from virtual and add a File&Systems agent. Though it seems it is already installed, as seen below, but I don’t see the agent under the client.Is there a way to add the license for it? I can’t reinstall it it seems since it’s already there? Anyone know how I should proceed?BRHenke      

We are currently looking into enabling the PassKey feature for one of our ‘Companies’ associated to our Multi-Tenant CommCell.The feature meets all the requirements to allow us, as the MSP, to support the customer from a BAU perspective without being able to view the sensitive data we will be backing up.However, I need to explicitly know that if the customer who will hold the Passkey loses this, can it be recovered from the CSDB?The customer will enter the passkey via remote session so as the MSP we will not have any record of it but need to be able to provide a solution in the event they misplace the Passkey.Thanks in advanced

We want to exclude all folders that are /builds/ on the server and remove them from the backup.If we define exclude as "***/builds/" in this request, will I achieve my goal? Thanks in advance.

Hi All, i have an short question regrading the index state.  When i check the health Status i see that some index probles are rported.  under the remarks the info is Index is outdated. it affects the VSA V2  for some vms i get last index backup time 08.01.2024 and it shows index is outdated. Browse and restore is working fine. The Bigdata apps backup also runs fine.    what can i check or do ?

Hello, In commvault i created hypervisor with 2 nodes. But we are using more then one subscription. For each subscription do i need to creater seperate hypervisor with node, or only node on each subscription is enough?   

HelloMy VSA proxy server has issues communication with the media agent. cvping works, and also test-netconnection. The media agent has 2 NIC, admin and backup. Admin network is not reachable for the VSA proxy. Hi Team,So our team have made a temporary third copy that is syncing from our primary copy, and we want to stop the syncing because the storage of the third copy is already full.My questions are:Is there any way to stop the synchronization of my primary and temporary third copy without disabling the Third Copy?  If I disable the active status of this third copy, will I still be able to restore backups from the third copy?

What is the difference between “DDB Last Verified On” and “Existing Job On Disk and DDB Last Verified On”?   Since there is not option to start a job that don’t verify existing jobs on disk? There is a Quick and a non-Quick verification job, but both of them verify existing jobs on disk.
