Hello Commvault community,Ιn case it needs to be implemented GFS (Grandfather-Father-Son) for VMware / Azure VMs workloads, what is the preferred tier to use in Azure?I assume that hot tier is ideal for daily backups (with 7-14 days retention), but what about  weekly backup jobs with 180 days+ retention ?Can hot tier combined with cool tier or must create a new cool/cold container (with new DDB) for these weekly backup jobs? To split daily backups → hot tier and weekly backups -->cool / cold tier.What is the best approach for this case? Please for your feedback,Nikos

While running auxillary copy job media marked as appendable its not full , after appendable is not reusableThis appendable media is not full, also tape is getting stuck inside the drive,if we can reuse this appendable tape without erase the existing data(because we data retention in 5 years) please share any solution for this issue

Is it supported IntelliSnap feature on KVM environment. How to take backup of Oracle DB using RMAN. Currently we have only Commvault Backup & Recovery For Virtual Machines license. No capacity based license.Thanks in advance. 

Hi Team, I want to see schedule policy which is assigned or which ran for a VM backup job. From ComcellBackupInfo, i am able to get all the details related to Backup job but only schedule name is not available. Is there any other databse or table using which we can fetch this information.

Hello All,I am using restore validate workflow. IT worsk fine on standalone nodes. When I try is on MS SQL Always on it fails. Does COmmvault support it on MS SQL AG?

The goal on our Linux file server is to replace the current /project1/ directory with new /project1/ directory, all the same data, but the data stored on different back-end storage. All of this data is backed up by Commvault with the Linux File Server Agent but not doing block level backups.However, when doing a test, we discovered that Commvault will back up the data again after its moved back to the new /project1/test/ directory, even though the data is exactly the same (same file sizes, modified dates, etc).I populated a folder on the file server /project1/test and created a Commvault sub-client for only that directory. I ran a manual full backup, which backed up 344MB of data.Then I ran the following commands (as root on the linux file server)rsync -avHxAPS /project1/test/ ~user/temp/Removed /project1/test/ using:rm -fr /project1/test/Synced the data back from /temp/rsync -avHxAPS ~user/temp/ /project1/test/Reinitial

Does anyone know which URLs need to be reachable by a Commcell for an access node for EntraID backups?  These are the URLs I know, but perhaps there are more or this information is incorrect or outdated. Hi, Have installed a new 11.34 and need to move the CS to a new domain. How can I change the CS hostname in CommandCenter?I manage to change it under Manage - Servers - CS client - hostname, I clicked save and it did not complain. But it also did not change the previous hostnamne. Documentation for 11.34 still refers to Commcell Console which requires a supportcase to get an authcode. Br, /Patrik

Hi all. I have a Storage policy copy where I have deactivated the copy by removing the check mark in the “active” check box, because I don’t want to use the copy any more and just want to age data out.My questions is. Now that I have deactivated the copy, will data age out, or will data only age if the copy is active?I ask because it seems that data is not aging when the storage policy is not active.  Regards-Anders

Hi,I’m currently doing MongoDB sharded cluster implementation. I manage to backup the sharded and config server, now trying to do some test restore.Is there any ways that I can simplify the process, without affecting the production server.I understand that I can do out of place restore, but I do need to prepare another set of mongodb server which currently I’m having difficulty to provide the resources.The “Restore files only” option, can I use this to test the restore to another path within the production server? Are you able to Aux copy directly to S3 Glacier Deep Archive (cool tier), without having write to hot tier?
