what all are backup type possible from exadata oracle .linux 8os image level backup is possible ? i can see only  below for detail regarding  exadata How do we configure backups on Oracle Exadata Database machines?In order to back up Oracle Exadata machines do the following: Install the Oracle agent on all the Exadata nodes. Create a RAC pseudoclient that includes all the Exadata nodes. Run the backups on the pseudoclient. The backups are performed using RMAN scripts. MediaAgents cannot be installed on Exadata database machines. They communicate with the Exadata nodes using an InfiniBand network during the backup.

i am user in the master group and trying to delete a client or retire a client , approval sending out , i disabled below workflow ,restarted service still its happening  

Hello,On our VMware infrastructure, a Windows 2012 file server contains five datastores (LUNs) and we want to distribute these LUNs to new file servers. From the vCenter, we planned to detach the LUNs and reattach them to the new server. However, on each of these LUNs, several TB of files were archived and stubs replaced the files. What should we do to ensure that nothing is lost during these manipulations?Thank you for your help.

Hi Team,in the CVLT documentation we found the following limitation:For streaming backups and backup copies, if the access node used for backups and restores is running on an Amazon EC2 instance, the access node must be available in the same user account as the instance being backed up or restored. We currently have the problem that the backup is no longer running on 2 VMs. Hard drives need to be consolidated. If this is done, 1 - 3 backups will run through and then it will run into the same error again.Error Code: [91:399] Description: The virtual machine [cs-at00-201] reports that it has virtual disks that need consolidation and this could not be performed automatically. In order to prevent a further buildup of delta disks and possible stability issues with the virtual machine, further backups of this virtual machine will not be performed until this condition is corrected. Check if there are any locks on the virtual disks or if the disks are still attached to a backup proxy. [] This all happened after the update to 11.28.86. Before the update, the jobs ran without errors. The consolidation only affects the VSA Agent and one other VM Automount on the VSA Proxy is enabled.

Hey,we updated from 11.28 to 11.32.38.We have Monitoring Check for “Backup Copy” Jobs, and after the update to 11.32 not working, because via REST API Endpoint the “Backup Copy” Jobs are not shown anymore.Endpoint: https://<serverURL>/webconsole/api/Job?clientId=62On 11.28 the “Backup Copy” Jobs were show beside all other Jobs for the Client, but on 11.32.38 it is not shown anymore.On this Forum Topic:, it was discussed for 11.28 as an issue and could be workaround by adding:&hideAdminJobs=false  to the APi Call, but this doesnt help in 11.32→ no Backup Copy Jobs are shown.Can this be checked internally with Dev Team if there were a change or maybe known issue?Thx & Best RegardsMarcel

Hi community. I would like to know how I can dynamically create a PopupInput with java code. Example use case: At first I fill a variable (list) with values (e.g. from a db query). Let’s assume the value of this variable is: Value1, Value2, Value3. Now I need to ask the for information for each single value with a PopupInput like in the screenshot below.   I would guess that I need to start like this:import commvault.cte.workflow.dom.WorkflowElement;WorkflowElement PopupInput = WorkflowElement.parse(... But honestly I have no idea how to continue from here on. Best regardsPasqual

Good afternoon,I hope you can help me, the version of Commcell that I have is 2023E - 11.32.35, the error that I will describe also applies to the latest version 11.32.38. I have enabled MFA for a specific group, not for the admin. When that group enters from COMCELL successfully, they receive the MFA (PIN) to their email. TThis is an example of the email that arrives in your email. When this happens I see in the SMTPManager logs that it sends correctly and I have detected that it uses the DLL "ChilkaDotNet46.dll" located in the path: \Commvault\ContentStore\BaseSo the behavior is as expected and works fine for me. However, when I log in from the web console to obtain the PIN (MFA), I never receive the email with the PIN.I have checked the SMTPManager log and it refers to the Chilkat license having expired. I started checking and found that it uses the ChilkatDnCore DLL, version 9.5.0.94, located at the path:  Commvault\ContentStore\WebServerCore  Users specifically need this functiona

Hi Community, Hope everyone is doing well. While integrating our newly installed ORACLE DB server, we came through some concerns regarding the appropriate schedule that will be assigned to the server.The DB backup will have two subclients : DATA + Archive Logs.Our intentions are to perform FULLs of the DATA and frequent ArchiveLog backup (each hour). The concern is about the Archive logs, has the backup to be run each hour to be a FULL or Incremental, or should we create a specific schedule policy for the archive logs and set inside it two schedule patterns (for example one full daily and other Incrementals the rest of the day) ? Recommendations regarding the scheduling of the backups would be appreciated. Regards.

Hi, I inherited the Commvault environment and the Commcell Console uses an AD service account to authenticate logins. Because the service account password does not meet our AD password requirement, I’ve changed it to a new/more complex password. However, I did not update it in Commcell before I logged out. Now I can’t log in any more. It gives an error “Failed to get properties for user [domain_user] in Commcell Console and in qlogin:  “qlogin: Error 0x103: Failed to get properties for user [domain_user]”. Is there any way to update it? I can’ change the password to the old one because it does not comply with the AD password policy so it refuses to accept the old password. Thanks.

Hello,Currently, we are using version 11.20 of Commvault on a Commserve Windows 2012 and SQL version 2012 server. The Commserve is a VM.  We want to upgrade the Commvault version to 11.28 and we need to upgrade the OS version and SQLServer to Windows 2022.What is the correct method to follow to upgrade Commvault?Can we  upgrade the OS and SQL version into 2022 and then install version 11.28 of Commvault : in this case, we need go through intermediate versions? Could this cause database corruption? Or is it better to rebuild the VMs?Thank in advance for your response.

Hello,have anyone experience with backing up VMs when VMware Native Key Provider is beeing used?One of our customers is thinking about encrypting the VMs for security reasons. From what I saw in the documentation the VMware Native Key Provider is only working for VMWare infrastructure products.I am not quit sure how this will impact the backup regarding to, ddb increase, if the data will be browsable with/without an agent installed.Any thoughts about this topic?

Hi All, As far as I know, Intellisnap backup is the one of the great option in physical environments. It brings, lot of benefits and improve backup performance.As per my understanding, during the VM Backup, the software snapshot taken by hypervisor, whereas in Intellisnap,  hardware snapshot taken by storage and mounted in the VSA. But, I couldn’t figure out, how the IntelliSnap backup works in Cloud (Azure) and how its beneficial over Azure VSA backup in terms of backup performance.Because, both scenario, its a software snapshot and it suppose to be mounted in the VSA to perform backup copy nothing but streaming backup. Can anyone provide more information and also share if you know any whitepaper. Thanks,Manikandan  

I have comcell server which takes backup of all my Physical and Virtual Machines. I have few servers which are on DMZ network and cannot connect to comcell server. I have setup a Virtual Machine. Which has access to both DMZ network and Comcell. Can I use this server to take backup of the DMZ network servers. if so what all are the requisites?

I have 3 locations worldwide with different companies. I want to back up these locations with a secondary copy of the backups at the main location in a storage pool.  Is this possible with an auxiliary copy?or what is the best way to do this? 

Hi Vaulters, Our customer had some concerns regarding two DR scenarios, in which your guidance would be much appreciated. Below both scenarios :In case of loss of a MediaAgent, how can the data be restored from the storage bay ? Do we have to install a MediaAgent from Scratch ? Knowing that we have a second MediaAgent. In the same case, how about DDB, can it be rebuilt from the Storage Bay backup images ? Our customer also has secondary copies for each storage policy on Tape, how can they restore the data in case of a complete loss of the Infra (Only Tape library remaining) ? Is there any way to rebuild the CS from the tape ? Same for the MediaAgents ?We heard about Commvault’s Media Explorer, but didn’t get what it does exactly, and if it is the main solution for rebuilding the CS et MAs metadata, is it compatible for Tape also ? Kind regards

Hi i have a question about DDB assignment.In my environment i have 2 file DDB for same disklibraryI think it was created by mistake when creating a new storage policy. So my question is can i remove (seal) the 1 DDB that i dont need? and will the storage policy using that DDB switch over to the other DDB? they are both under the same Global DDB.the reason this is a problem is that this DDB is located on the comserve nodes and they dont handle this load well. i could of course move the DDB but i would prefer to remove them instead.

I upgraded from 11.30.80 to 11.32.35 and lost access to the Command Center.  After the upgrade, Chrome started reporting “Your connection is not private” and “the website sent back unusual and incorrect credentials”.  Even though my certificate was still valid, I had my network guy generate a new commandcenter.pfx file using the same password as the old file.  I copied the file to D:\program files\commvault\ContentStore\Apache\conf on my web server then stopped and started Tomcat.  Now when I attempt to go to Command Center now, I get: 404 Not Found.I *suspect* this is more of an upgrade issue than it is a certificate issue.  Does anyone have any suggestion on what to check?  I found this post which had the same problem but what worked for them doesn’t seem to help me.  If CommVault staff see this, I have ticket 240112-474 opened but don’t seem to be getting any response.Ken

Using continues replication for a number of VM”s. Some TB’s large. Question is this.When a failover is done. Does it take up double the space? Like is a whole additional VM created and the ‘replicated’ VM still existing in VMWare? Example: Live Syncing 1TB VM.-Failover-Do know hove 2TB of space used on the datastore?
