Hello,I am new to CommVault and attempting to remotely deploy MediaAgents and Virtual Server Agents using a PowerShell script.I created a custom package selecting the “Virtualization” role (Per this article: https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/essential/135950_installation_roles_and_packages.html). I did not create a self-extracting executable file because it failed to generate one, so my package files are all contained with a folder.The package successfully installs, but it is only installing the “File System Core” component. Even though my install.xml file explicitly says “ selectedRoles="51,713" “ which I noted are the Media Agent and Virtual Server in WinPackages.xml.Is my install.xml not being read properly?Here is my PowerShell one-liner:(start-process "C:\localpath\S

I configured a Global Command Center by registering the remote CommCells as outlined in https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/essential/151227_global_command_center.html.  When you register the remote CommCell, it asks for the Service CommCell host name along with username and password.  It then reaches out and synchronizes the service CommCells.For some reason, when I look at the CommCell names under Service CommCells, it is inconsistent.  Some are showing a CommCell ID/Registration number while others have the full hostname and others have the short CommCell name.Where is it pulling that CommCell Name from?  Can it be edited?It would be nice if you could edit the CommCell names on the Service CommCells page to input a friendly name so that the other admins would know which one it was.  Perhaps tha

Hello Commvault Community,  At the beginning, I will explain the situations that we need to meet with the client. We have a production environment with several TapeLibraries and a few DiskLibraries. The client decided that he would like to use the newly created, dedicated Scratch Pools, but he wants them to be automated. This is to work in such a way that for certain Storage Policy copies LTO-7 tape is to be taken or in the second case LTO-8. This configuration is intended to apply to multiple Storage Policy Copies. We'd rather avoid creating all Storage Policies from scratch. However, we know that the Storage Pool settings define the "Default Scratch Pool" settings, where you cannot select individual ones for each copy and additionally, you cannot change it if the copy is already running and has data saved, but we probably found a workaround for this. When we create a new copy to tapes, for an existing Storage Pol

Hi,I’m working on an issue with DDB Verification on a HyperScale X environment.I talked to someone at Commvault Support who explained that planned DDB verifications were removed from the best practices on HyperScale X because it could impact Space Reclamation Jobs, aswell as impact performance. However, our customer needs to be able to produce reports to document and prove compliance in regards to ISO certifications. They were able to import a report on their Private Metrics Reporting server so they can generate reports based on Admin jobs.However, they are noticing that DDB verifications are taking a very long time and they aren’t actually completing, so all subsequent DDB verification are just queueing up. The DDBs in this environment are very large.Does anybody have a suggestion how we could solve this issue and actually getting these DDB verification jobs to finish in a timely manner? Would scheduling them more often solve the issue?Look

Hi Team, We saw that one of our file backup has detected stale mount path in the scan phase. Hi, I am thinking to use Aux copy to move backup jobs of backup copy of storage policy from one disk library to another as the original disk library is getting full. I have several questions regarding Aux copy and hoping that I can get answers here.as there are two different disk libraries which use different DDBs, does it mean that a full copy of backup jobs will be transferred through the network without deduplication? When I looked into the aux job that I ran for testing, the size of backup data transferred across is much smaller and very closed to the actual data written size of the original copy. Did I miss anything or this is expected behavior? If so what is the theory behind it. How can I tell for sure that all backup jobs have been copied across? I am planning to delete the original copy to free up space but I want to make sure that all jobs are copied across before doing it.Kind regards,Boyi

Is it possible to use a Media Agent proxy for Intellisnap backup operations?Although I configure a proxy in the settings of the subclient, the backup continues to use the MongoDB nodes to take snapshots, instead the proxy configured.The storage is a NetApp. 

Hello community!I recently switched for OneDrive backup, from v1 to v2 and a have a question:In Users tab, I can add an extra column called “OneDrive enabled”.Then I see that my users are mixed in this filter. Some of these are Yes and some other with No, but all of users are backed up (with also actual size).So, could you please help me, what is “OneDrive enabled” for?Thank you in advance,Nikos

Hello all, is anyone using the Powershell SDK v2?  I see it hasn’t been touched since initial commit, is this still a thing?  I really like the v1 and wanted to see what else is now available in v2.  https://github.com/Commvault/CVPowershellSDKV2 The documentation is scarce at best and CV docs still references SDK v1 which is not the same as v2.  From the github page it just says to use Invoke-SetupLogin, which I am able to connect and get a token.  But then how do I use the cmdlets at that point?  When I run a command afterwards I just get “Unauthorized”  In v1 once you run connect-CVServer, you can run any commands against the currently logged in Commcell. I really think this PS module is a great thing and hope it is still being developed.  The API is nice but the PS code is much easier to use and less code involved. Thanks f

commvault.Instance001.service has suddenly stopped on all the linux clients.Next backup will run on Saturday.I believe this is a commvault communication service on all clients which needs to be run in order to backup clients.Could you please let me know how to restart this as I cannot have backup failures this saturday. It is crucial to the business.

Hello,I’ve some older data at one mount path and want to move it to different host where new storage has been already configured and it’s up and running. Is there a way to somehow merge the data from old MP into new one? So I want to move data from Host1 - “D:\MP1” to Host2 - “D:\New MP” to keep everything in single place. Simple move is enough?
