Hi All,- Commserve with MA connect via hypervisor VSA VM backup VM1- subclient content with VM1 and crash consistent backup, software compression select on client and deduplication generate signature select on clientrefer above setting, may we know as below- if VM1 without commvault agent, which one would compression? client or VSA?- if VM1 with commvault agent , which one would compression? client or VSA?- if VM1 without commvault agent, which one would generate deduplication signature? client or VSA?- if VM1 with commvault agent, which one would generate deduplication signature? client or VSA?- we assume VSA execute all, is correct? may we know more detail if client execute and without commvault agent? Best regards

Hi All,one of media agent version 11.32.35 with DDB incorrect uninstall all Commvault software, the IndexCache and DDB folder still available we could not find recover procedure from 2023E (11.32), could follow https://documentation.commvault.com/11.20/reinstalling_mediaagent_to_different_location.html reinstall commvault media agent in the same server and recover? Best regards

The Proactive DBMaintenance shouldnt run on the secondary commserve right? I ask because if the CommServ db is constantly at restoring mode the job cant access the db.

What is the maximum API concurrent calls  supported by Commvault ?Please share any documentation link for reference.ThanksLeena

Hi team,We recently set up a trial version of Commvault 11.32.54 on a Hyper-V guest machine. When we attempting to add Hyper-V host (which the guest machine located in) in web console, it shows “Something went wrong. Please check the log for details”.We have installed VSA on both commserve and Hyper V host, and the Hyper V account that is used for authenticate is a part of the “Hyper V Administrators” group.How can we pinpoint the misconfiguration causing this issue?  

We are currently testing Intellisnap in our environment with Hitachi. We can create snapshots and communicate with the array just fine the issue occurs once commvault has taken the initial snapshot in VMware and goes to mount it for copy to storage.In the configuration we use a dedicated server ESXSERVER-A for the snapshot which it does. When commvault then mounts the snapshots to copy it uses random servers in the environment Lets call them ESXSERVER-B and ESXSERVER-C.After the job completes it would appear that Commvault is having issues with Clean up of the Snapshots.Questions:Why is commvault not using the specified ESX host to manage and mount the snaps after the initial snap? Is there a way to control this in additional settings? 

Hi All, Refer subclient CvFailoverLogShipping, I try create aux copy to DR disk or tape library and it will not copy. is the “CvFailoverLogShipping” just for schedule transfer SQL DB and log for backup and restore to standby Commserve only and it did not require keep long retention or offsite? if it did not require keep long retention, because it will use disk space, could setup short retention day? e.g. 1 day, any suggestion? Best regards

When installing an agent on linux server lets say a cluster of  postgres servers, do i have to specify the unix group? Cant you backup the servers without the unix group?

Hi All, Refer auto failover as below The monitoring nodes and the failover CommServe host(s) periodically check the active CommServe host, and automatically fails over to the standby CommServe host when the active CommServe host is not reachable. The failover occurs only when both the following conditions are satisfied: The monitoring nodes and the failover CommServe host(s) are not able to communicate with the CommServe (Instance001) in the active CommServe host. The monitoring nodes and the failover CommServe host(s) are able to reach the other clients in the network.  Compare normal cluster failover concept, it may require third site (witness) decide and trigger failover. But manual did not mention require monitoring nodes in third site. If setting as below, which (nodes / hosts) and how to decide and trigger auto failover when WAN link failure and

Hello community, I need your help. I want to deploy a FREL without an OVA. I am trying to install the packages on a Linux system, but when I install, I only see "file server" and "File server core". I don't see "VSA".

hope everyone if good  i have a very strange issue while installing the client in server it get failed to download binaries from package commvault file system core i have also the log attached herewith. please help to get out of this i have done this ot backup my core server. but unable to install client.
