Use case:I have enabled Object lock on the Cloud storage bucket (Hitachi Content Platform for Cloud Scale (S3)).Enabled WORM on Commvault and set the retention for the storage policy.Result: Once the data is backed up I am able to delete the data manually in the Hitachi Content Platform for Cloud Scale (S3) bucket.Does Commvault does not leverage Object lock ?Also Can we enable Object lock on Hitachi Content Platform for Cloud Scale (HCPCS) and WORM on Commvault or its Either or case. 

I need to understand and unable to find a good documentation on the differences between the terms: Difference between Storage policy, storage pool, data path, mount path , Libraries ? How are they related ?

We are following instructions from below page to enable WORM we could not see the WORM option does compliance lock mean WORM lock: https://documentation.commvault.com/2023e/expert/157130_enabling_worm_storage_and_retention_for_cloud_storage.htmlAlso in the supported agents we have Hitachi Content Platform (HS3) Hitachi Content Platform for Cloud Scale (S3) In the Commcell browser we could not edit properties for Hitachi Content Platform for Cloud Scale (S3) but could edit for Hitachi Content Platform (HS3) and enable WORM from the configuration What is the difference between WORM and Complaince Lock. In the WORM section complaince lock is default selected, but in Commcell browser we only have Complaince lock  

Is it fair to say, The "Commvault Client Monthly Growth" report typically refers to the growth of data being backed up by Commvault clients over a specified period. In general, the "Commvault Client Monthly Growth" report should include data from all clients being backed up by Commvault, regardless of the location or data center?

Hi All,What happens if a bad person becomes an admin on the CommServe server and change the server date forward 2 years? We can consider this for Media Agent as well.In general, a bad person could log into the servers and do this and what would happen ? Will the backups be deleted because the retention period has expired ? 

Hello,We have an issue with one of our Oracle linux servers - I can see the following error in the “sr_post_backup.log” “ Debug: Error for [/dev/sda] will not be ignored” Error: [/dev/sda] has not been enumeratde in [/tmp/sysconf/diskd]. cannot validate Error: mountpoint is either on device which is no properly configured or mixed supported a and unsupported devicethe last error was checked by our IT guy and was found not correct Can you please help? Best regards

I get worried questions regarding protecting Teams and the payment models that Microsoft has implemented for Teams APIs. It seems as some backup vendors are avoiding backing up some Teams components to not put the customer in a situation where they will get billed by Microsoft. I have not been able to find any information about this in the Commvault documentation and I do not know the current status of this situation. Does anyone have some feedback on this.  /Patrik

Hi Community,Trying to log into cloud.commvault.com today and getting the following:  It looks like there may be an upgrade / migration happening. Is there a way that these changes / updates can be communicated with a message prior? 

I am currently replacing all of the Windows Server 2012 r2 servers with Windows server 2022.  The current web server is running WS2012R2.  If I build a new Web Console server with WS2022 how do I know that the newly built server will take over the web console duties?  What else do I need to do to replace it with 2022?  Any documentation would be helpful.  It is painful to find relevant commvault documentaion.

Hey folks,I wanted to let you know proactively about an issue we have found affecting CommCell’s who have upgraded to 11.28 Maintenance Release 60 or above, and anyone who has updated to 11.30 or 11.32.An update included in these releases made some scheduling changes behind the scenes, unfortunately it flipped a flag on space reclamation schedules which means they do not run the defrag process to perform data reclamation. This only impacts customers who rely on space reclamation where sparse support is not available on their mount paths. This does include Commvault HyperScale 1.5 or HSX as well.It’s worth noting that if you run space reclamation manually (not relying on the schedule) then the issue does not occur.Fortunately, the fix is simple, especially for FR28 customers. An update is available that can be installed without a service restart which will fix the flag on space reclamation schedules and turn on defrag again.A KB article for 11.28 is available which explains the issue an

Hello Team,We are trying to restore single level table restore in Oracle DB, while restore is getting an error. RMAN-03002: failure of duplicate DB commandRMAN-05501: aborting duplication of target database.RMAN-04004: error from recovery catalog database: ORA-01033: ORACLE initialization or shutdown in progress. RMAN-05546: DUPLICATE without TARGET and CATALOG connections requires that BACKUP LOCATION is specified. The restoration is using the same DB server. Please advise the restoration process.

We have CommServe version 11.24. on Windows sever 2012 R2 Standard, and we are planning to update the OS to Windows 2016 as well the commserve version 11.28. once it is completed, we need to update media servers OS version to Windows 2016.The commserve server is not act as media server and no disk/tape libraries are configured. All(DDB/DISK/TAPE) are configured on media servers.Can i follow the below stpes.take DR backup Uninstall the commvault software on the commserver upgrade the os from Win 2012 to Win 2016 Install the Commvault software and during the installation can i choose the existing DR backup. Kindly suggest how to proceed it. 

Hello CommunityI'm exploring options to stop Commvault Windows client services in silent mode via the command line. I have observed that the command 'GxAdmin.exe -console -stopsvcgrp All' only works when UAC (User Account Control) is disabled. otherwise, a confirmation prompt is required when UAC is enabled.we have many servers and don't want to modify GPO each time to disable UAC, I have noticed that during the CV SP upgrade process, the Commvault services are automatically shut down in silent mode, even on servers with UAC enabled, it never prompt to confirm anything.I'm seeking info about the specific command used during the CV SP upgrade to achieve this automatic shutdown of Commvault Wins Client services in silent mode, regardless of UAC settings. thanks

Our SAP HANA server was migrated to a new hardware . The new server has the same hostname as the old server but with new IP address. the Commvault client was installed on the new server and connectivity between Commcell and new server is working fine. Check Readiness on the the existing pseudo client is ok. However when connecting to the instance it is showing “unable to establish connectivity with these instance properties. instance properties validation failed. Please check DB credentials”. I’m using the SYSTEM DB username and password was verified by the SAP team.The ClHanaAgent.log shows these errors:ClHanaAgent::ExecuteBrowseDiscoverdatabases() - HDBSql command Failed. Please check the connection password/ Bring the database online..Please advise on how to resolve this.Thank you. 

When I try to backup Azure Database for MySQL flexible server, I select add cloud DB instance, it have not show the db to let me select…anything I’m still missing in configuration?  or flexible server is not supported? more info:tried standalone azure db for mysql and backup is success. backup server deployed on Azure, in same subscription. version: 11.28 using app id, grant right on subscription level with contributor tried grant right on resourcegroup level also also tried VM managed identity with mentioned right  

I have been searching on Commvault Docs about the One touch restore, I don't see where it says to use the Similar Disk or Dissimilar Disk option. I was informed if the new server being restored to is the same size or larger you can use Similar Disk option. Does anybody know or have a doc on that question.  Thank you
