Hello Team,Do we have any roadmap or update regarding VMware supportability on HPE VME?I reviewed the compatibility for version 11.32, and I do not see VMware listed as supported. Can Commvault store full backups and incremental backups in separate buckets, with immutability enabled only for the full backup bucket, to optimize costs? If feasible, what are the pros, cons, and key considerations of this design?

Hi, I have a hpe vme essentials cluster with 3 nodes, I trying to configure this in commvault so I can do a test backup of a vm that is running on that cluster.we are running 11.40 I’am using following document https://documentation.commvault.com/11.40/software/configuring_backups_for_hpe_morpheus_vm_essentials_vms.htmlBut I don’t understand how to create and use the access node?I don’t have the access node tile under Manage-infrastructure to add a new one? 

Hi,We are decomissioning our VMware media agents and only using Azure hosted Median Agents. The new Azure Media Agents arent showing as access nodes for vcenter backups. I’ve read about installing VSA but cannot find the install files or an accurate guide to do this. All groups and software between old (vmware) and new (azure) media agents match. Thanks

We have a commserve in AWS, which host name is its ip address. We can access the web portal with the ip as a url on Windows laptops, however other members who use a mac machine cant. From what I gather from minor research if I create a proxy server with a fqdn this should resolve the issue for the MAC users and the ip cache issue.Has anyone ever dealt with something like this? Or have an alternate solution, that does not involve changing the hostname of the commserve itself?

We have newly provisioned HSX platform and we are doing VSA backups on Vmware 8We are utilizing Intellisnap At the moment we have one job using PRD tag and another job doing non-prd and UAT tagsThese are HSX nodes (11) and over 1000 VMs Although the backups are running the backup copies seem to be taking a long time (NBD; we will migrate to SAN mode)Also, we have tag based exclusions; so if a VM is both in excluded tag(RDBMS should not be snapshotted) and included tag (Some RDBMS should be which dont have agent based backup) the VMs does not get backed up; we are currently manually adding those vms to backup and that seem to work. Is there a better way to use tags say we will have to add specific VMs to configuration In our old Commvault  environment we have VM data-store based jobs (IntelliSnap again) but these had virtual proxies and because each ds backup triggered at a different time and separate virtual proxies(hot-add); it seeme

The topic generally covers a few points.We have an “older” backup system, running Windows Server with “suitable” hardware specs, containing >50 TB of storage. No cloud stuff etc. but an LTO-9 library attached.Why is the fragmentation so high at all. I’ve configured allocation of writeblocks to 1024 MB. But it seems to clearly not do - or keep - that. I hoped to find help in:  But the recommendation to use “space reclamaition” instead of defragmenting sounds like someone has no clue about the topic. Hi.I am in the process of using the batch file created by the “Save as Script” option to start backup jobs.Manually executing the batch file results in an error to saving the token file. When elevating the Command Prompt to Administrator the job successfully starts, save the token and executes.The user is added as a Local Administrator.Is there a way to bypass UAC during the execution of the command?Thanks.

Hi All, maybe you have an idear. I have an VM wich is running under nutanix ahv. The VM has an size of 25TB with only one disc. The Backup is not the problem incr jobs running ine also synthfull is okay.  But the problem is the tape out. During the single stream with 25TB the auxcopy job runs 36h  Is there any possibility to increase the tape out speed. Yes more discs could be helpfull but no option more multiplexing also in idear but will be decrease the restore process.

NetApp is currently selling the successor to the ASA (SAN Only), the ASAr2, at an attractive price. Basically, it is a system from the ONTAP family, like the FAS or AFF systems. Unfortunately, the API has changed considerably, and Commvault does not yet support the ASAr2 API. I’ve heard that integration is being worked on. Is there a timeline for this?We have a few projects where Commvault (new customer) and NetApp would be a good combination.

Hello everyone,I am planning a MediaAgent hardware refresh in an enterprise environment. The backend storage is a SAN-attached Hitachi array (Disk Library) connected via Cisco MDS. The Hitachi storage remains unchanged; only the MA server hardware is being replaced.Environment & Requirements: The new MA must retain the exact same Hostname, IP address, and Commvault Client Name. DDB and Index Cache are currently on local NVMe/SSD drives and need to be migrated to local NVMe drives on the new server. Operating System: Windows Server. Commvault environment matches the same Feature Release (FR) and Maintenance Release (MR). Proposed Execution Plan: Staging: Build the new MA with a temporary Hostname and IP. Install MPIO, HBA firmware, and drivers matching the Hitachi/Cisco Support Matrix.

Hi All,I'm looking for technical resources and experience in integrating Commvault with Morpheus.What is the integration architecture?Is it possible to match tenant between Morpheus and Commvault? Hello community, we used a deduplicated WORM cloud storage pool  for a while but needed to start fresh because of unexpected growth.In the process of aging the data of the old pool we noticed an issue because of the default 1 cycle retention which required a workaround to bypass the cycle retention.Therefore we would like to enable zero cycle retention on the new WORM pool like described here: Configuring WORM Storage LockWhen preparing the pool and assigning the first storage policy to it I noticed that the cycle retention got increased to 1 after enabling WORM despite running the command from the documentation beforehand.So my question is: Is there more to do than described in the documentation to enable the zero cycle retenti

Hi everyone,I have a 11.40 environment and the login nowadays has 3 steps and before I get to fill in the 2FA PIN, I have triggered the email with the 2FA code.I first get the screen to fill in my username. The second screen allows me to put in my password. After this, I get the third screen where I can fill in the 2FA code if I have not added a 2FA PIN to my password on the second screen (the same way as for the commcell console). If I did not fill in the 2FA PIN with my password, I get a mail with a 2FA PIN.I want to configure the logic that a 2FA code is only sent out via mail when I don't fill in a PIN in the third screen. This is because I don't want to get a 2FA PIN mail because I have already stored the secret in a TOTP app. It is also not logical for end users that have a TOTP app that they still get the mail when they have not yet had the change to fill in the 2FA PIN.I also rather do not want to entirely disable the

HiWe are trying to use Commvault for very large SQL Server VM (about 50 TB) running on Nutanix. The main requirement is to recover quickly after a security incident by restoring to a clean pre‑incident point while keeping RTO extremely low, which is hard when full database re‑hydration is required.Today, SQL point‑in‑time restores in Commvault appear to work in the traditional way: the database is rebuilt by streaming data from backup (full/diff) and then applying logs, writing out the entire MDF/NDF/LDF set again. For a 50 TB database, fully moving data from backup media back to production storage is not realistic for tight RTO objectives.What we would like is a workflow that:- Treats the SQL data disks (on Nutanix) more like snap‑based clones instead of full copy restores.  - Lets us promote or mount a snapshot at the individual disk/volume level, not only at whole‑VM level.  - Then uses Commvault only to apply transaction logs on top of tha

Hi Community,  I’m currently forwarding logs from Commvault with a external monitoring tool, and then use a DB Connect tool for this. After a recent upgrade, I can see that my queries for the view [CommServ].[dbo].[CommCellBackupInfo] is now being masked for the variable clientname. It now shows, for example: “eexxxxom”. instead of “example.com”. I found this KB: SQL Dynamic Data Masking about this.Questions I have relating to this are:What privilege does the user need to have for this to not mask? Currently, I have “read-only” rights, which only have rights to read and connect to the database. What else would I need for this to work? Or, are there any way to disable this in Commvault/the SQL database in the CommServe?Kind regards,
