Hello, TeamI have deployed and completed configuration of commserve server in about 3 weeks and when trying to access the command center; the error below shows upp.I have restarted the tomcat services multiple times. Kindly help on this

Hi all,quick question. I have upgraded to 11.36 and I just noticed my DDB backups run every 3 days now.Found why they changes from the BOLhttps://documentation.commvault.com/2024e/expert/changes_in_commvault_platform_release_2024e_01.htmlSystem created schedule for deduplication database (DDB) backups are run once every 3 days. What is the reason they changed them to every 3 days ? I used to to have them run daily.  Thanks 

Thinking of renaming some policies and subclients to make them more readable.Does this break anything? Jobs? Retention? Schedules?Pretty sure Commvault tracks these by IDs, so it shouldn’t matter… right? But wanna make sure there’s no funky behavior hiding.Also , what happens if you’ve got one subclient doing backups and another doing replication for the same VM? Could this mess up snapshots or indexes?Like, is it gonna throw errors because two subclients are both taking snapshots of the same VM? Or maybe cause some weird restore behavior?Appreciate your help overall!   

I can see in the health dashboard that there is a Cleanup report which shows clients that are in a VM Image and a client based backup but is anyone aware of  a report that would show clients that are in any two or more schedules. For example two Client FS backups.. Thanks for any advice.

We are starting to use the VMware backup validation feature (it’s great!) and we are getting quite a few “Fail to boot VM” results in our weekly test. Using the “Validate backup” per VM the mounted backup looks promising but Commvault shuts it off.Can the wait out time be extended? 

We need to move the current CommServe environment to another server due to space issues on the current server.What are the best practices for conducting this migration? 

Commvault Cloud supports the protection of Amazon Aurora and Amazon RDS instances in single and multi-AZ configurations using native RDS automated backups, allowing for point-in-time recovery (PITR).  To enable the PITR for Amazon Aurora and Amazon RDS, additional permissions for RDS APIs are required to be added to a policy in the user account. Hi Team,I have scenario where, the user mailbox get deleted and created back. since the previous mailbox backup still exist, i have new backup for the same user. when the user view the backup emails in console, it shows double as below. is there any way to fix this or merge the deleted & active backup mailboxes into one?

Hello fellow CommVault users,I run a three node HyperScale 1.5 media agent on HPE reference hardware and recently one of the drives failed. I’ve replaced the failed drive and have started the recovery process to rebuild the contents of the drive.Question: Is there a command that can be run to show the percent complete on the rebuild process?Thanks in advance for any information.Ken 

Hi, I am currently going through the documentation to plan the update but some points are not clear to me:https://documentation.commvault.com/2023e/expert/migrating_hyperscale_x_version_on_existing_nodes.htmlIs this paper for both Hyperscale (appliance and RA)? The migration process migrates and reboots each node in the cluster from RHEL7 to Rocky8 sequentially. This process may take several hours to complete.Can I continue to perform backups while the cluster is being updated? (I'm thinking of the database log backups)We have a 6-node cluster, does anyone have experience with the duration? ThanksMichael

Thinking of cleaning up some storage policies — maybe moving a few subclients from one policy to another to keep things tidy.Qs: Any risk of data loss or backup issues when moving subclients between policies? Does this kind of change trigger a full backup, or will it continue incremental as usual? (Kinda hoping I don’t get hit with a surprise full backup… 😅 Appreciate your feedback everyone!

Hi All, happy new year to all.  I see in severel commcells the following event: Programm: CvSolrCoordinatorEventcode: 19:2582Description: Number of available streams [1] is either less than the number of nodes [1] or less than the recommended minimum number [4]. This can impact performance of the backup. This comes during the backup of the index server. I cant understand the problem. I checked the streams on the SP lvl thats fine. I disabeld the schedule and suspended all running jobs so nothing runs started the index backup and the error comes directly. do you have an idear ?  

How many services accounts per 1k users do I need to backup hybrid Exchange environment?

Hi,I am currently testing a complete disaster recovery from tapes.Usually, full backups are copied to tapes every week, so I took a tape set from 2 weeks ago as it was exported.I restored the CommServe from Commvault Cloud.New Media Agent and tape library were deployed and the tape set was inserted in the library.Index v1 client recovery works fine.Index v2 client recovery asks for tapes that are out of the current set to recall indexes, so I can’t restore anything.I tried the catalog option but it takes days so it’s not viable. Is there a way to ensure that a weekly tape set contains also the necessary index backups?

Can we apply vm disk filters on Intellisnap jobs Also how do I validate that the filtering is being applied; do I have to run a syn full or full first before it gets applied? I am trying to filter a disk out as we are already backing it via file system it resides on a data store I am choosing VMDK Name/Pattern option[DatastoreA]*/*Test_P01_1.vmdk

Hello All,I am backing up a VM daily Incremental and Weekly Shyntetic Full backup from different subclients as the following (GAR-PND-PRD_VM_Set_1,GAR-PND-PRD_VM_Set_2)I have Full backup from both of subclient taken on Monday.  and I have Incremental backup taken on Tuesday from subclient GAR-PND-PRD_VM_Set_1 . I have another incremental backup taken on Wednesday from GAR-PND-PRD_VM_Set_2. I am using CBT backup both of subcleint.If I restore VM from the Incremental backup from the GAR-PND-PRD_VM_Set_2 subclient, Will I Cover all data from Wednesday Tuesday and Monday ? Or I will just have data from Wednesday and Monday?

Friends,We want to do a cleanup within our Credentials Vault and therefore I need to find out what MSSQL instances are using what credentials.Via Protect - Databases, you can see in the Overview tab the option “SQL server authentication”.Here you can override the Impersonate User on instance level. In our commcell we had a RHEL client with the name FakeName. Hi Community,Microsoft blocking the assignment of the ApplicationImpersonation role in Exchange Online to accounts starting in September 2024, and that in February 2025, will completely remove this role and its feature set from Exchange Online.Retirement of RBAC Application Impersonation in Exchange Online | Microsoft Community Hub For the Exchange Online - Public Folder Backup is a Impersonation role required. So far I have not found anything in the CommVault documentation on how to back up the Public Folders in Exchange Online in the future.Does anyone have any further information?Thanks and best regards,Andreas

Currently using Metallic and receiving the error message for several clients that jobs are already in progress but not able to locate the job.  Has anyone else seen this issue?
