Hi everyone,What impact will enabling WORM Storage Lock with full proof have on disk space before and after its activation?Thanks.

Dears I have many tapes kept for only one un-aged jobs and I plan to perform tape refresh on specific tapes picked manually.When I try to enable media refresh on storage policy copy level I see the parameters for auto picking tapes.How to bypass these parameters ?

As I understand the Intellisnap backup copy process: we have virtual proxywill mount the SS (storage snapshot) to ESX host (proxy ESX host) from the backup that had run will it register a temp vm  if the proxy vm resides on the same proxy esx host; it will use hot-add wherein it will attach the vmdk on the storage snapshot in step a and read the data via the guest OS and push it to MediaAgent on the appropirate guest vm network however if the proxy VM is on a diffrent esx host; it will use nbd to copy the data and send data to MediaAgent  My question is if say that proxy is engaged in backup copying more than 1 vms which are on different datastores and someone runs the same Intellisnap backup a. will the intellisnap backup fail as there is a proxy VM which has disks across 2 different datastores.   

Hi everyone,I activated compliance lock on a storage policy, which prevents me from deleting any backup data linked to that policy. Afterward, I created a new library & Storage pool with a different storage policy, but I'm still using the same subclient as before. Given this new setup, why am I still unable to delete backup data after backing up new content?Thanks. 

Would you add the ability to check multiple folders in different drive letters of the same server to restore from using Command center ?

Hi Commvault Community,I am writing to inquire about releasing space on a storage unit previously used for backups. Here is the context:The library was configured on a QNAP unit as a network shared folder. A Storage Pool was created for the deduplication database, and a Storage Policy was associated with it. All three elements (library, Storage Pool, and Storage Policy) have been deleted to clean up the shared folder. However, despite considerable time passing, the storage has not been freed up. Manual deletion of the folder contents is also not permitted.Steps Taken:Deleted the jobs in the Commvault console, but the shared folder still shows "Size on disk." Performed data verification and Space Reclamation; however, no storage was released. Deleted the deduplication database, but the folder information was not cleaned up. Attempted to manually delete the folder contents, but security permissions prevented this, even with the administrator account. Deleted the library, Storage Pool, an

 Hi Team,According to the info below, I would expect Commvault to create a new DDB Store for the Database, but it did not. Are there any other criteria that are not matched for creating a new DDB Store? Any idea why this might be? Is there a way to manually create a DDB Store for the Database? Version: 11.32.65

Hello,In one location i have two MAs(media agents) with local storage, each MA has:1. SSD storage for DDB (two disks in RAID1 array), single logical disk2. HDD storage for library (multiple disks in RAID6 array), single logical diskSo, I have two options:A. Create two Deduplication storage pools, one per server and manage how agents are spread between those pools manually. With this approach I'm familiar on practice, it is not very convenient to mage such setup. But i clearly understand how jobs and clients are spread between MAs and what happens if one of servers will fail.B. Create one big Storage pool with both MAs in grid, library paths will be shared between MAs using DataServerIP transport in read mode, pool will have common DDB with two partitions(one per MA). I'm not familiar with such setup and don't know potential downsides.So, questions regarding option (B):1. How agents and jobs are spread between MAs? How Commvault makes decision which local storage path to use, on MA1 or

I am trying to make an API call to create a credential but is failing with error “Request body is empty, or format is invalid.”I did not modify anything except the endpoint and Token. Commvault Vmware 7 backup missing /opt dir contents (possibly others). I discovered this while trying to restore files (guest files) . I then did a full vm restore out of place and the files are not there uner /optThis is a serious issue haw can i ensure all files are backed up? I did for a full backup still same issue

Hi Commvault gurus! I have the following question. We need to test disaster recovery situation when loosing all infrastructure and having only tape backup available. Then, which option we should choose in CommServe Recovery Assistant - staging or recovery? As said, we just want to simulate disaster recovery situation and try to restore CommServe and couple of client in order to be prepared for such situation.What is the difference between Staging and Recovery option? I know, that when using Staging, all Backup activity is disabled, but of course it could be changed manually, couldn’t be?Is there any other pitfall, we should keep in mind? Hello team,We are currently working in a multi-tenancy environment, and some time ago a customer was completely removed from our Commcell (clients, policies, pools, company etc), however, an Uninstall software operation is bein triggered automatically only for this customer, which fails due there isn’t any chance to reach the clients due they were already removed.Following the job events, the username which triggers the job is started by “System”, but I’m not able to find out from where this job is being trigger.  I also checked the if the remove laptop option is activated, but it’s set as “never”. Case was opened but the support couldn’t see anything useful, the suggestion was upgrading the environment.  Do you know from where this “schedule” maybe is activated?  Thank you.

Hello Commvault Community,I'm trying to backup PostgreSQL with FSBased backup, somehow it failed at 74%. When I checked the log, it shows that there is invalid archive log directory (Log file attached). In our PostgreSQL.conf, we are using bash command in archive_command row. I also configured the postgres instance in Commvault using the path from archive_command bash file. So the path to archive log should be correct.In looks like Commvault managed to transfer data but it failed to stop the Backup Query.Please advice. Thanks in advance.

Hi All,A customer asked me about the size of the Ethernet frames used between 2 HSX clusters during Auxiliary Copies.From what I understand, the customer is concerned that the frames are too small. And that in relation to certain network components, the throughput obtained is not very high if the frames are small.And he asks me to put the question to Commvault ...As I understand it, this is independent of Commvault. But I'd like to check my understanding to the community.Ethernet has a minimum frame size of 64 bytes. It also has a maximum frame size of 1518 bytes. (if jumbo frame is not configured).For Auxiliary Copy jobs between HSX clusters, Commvault uses 128kB data blocks.These data blocks are sent to the Rocky Linux kernel, which splits them into 1500-byte segments (if jumbo frame is not configured) and sends them to the Ethernet interface driver.Can you please confirm my correct understanding? Is there any reason why Ethernet frames should not be the maximum size?Regards,Luc

Hi CV Team, We want to send CSDB meta data to commvault cloud(metallic). We have whitelisted all CV URLS. We added internet proxy IP to the commserve host. When try to enable the setting “upload backup metadata to metallic cloud”, I am getting below error in CVcloudservices.log “Failed to connect to cvdrservices.metallic.io port 443 after 21000ms, cloudnt connect to server”. Kindly note, I am able to url the URL upload backup metadata to metallic cloud” on the commserve edge browser.Do I miss anything here? Do I need to configure HTTP proxy on commcell console ?https://documentation.commvault.com/2022e/expert/configuring_http_proxy_server_for_commserve_computer.htmlIf I configure, does it allow access to all clients in environment(which we does not want) ?You can configure all clients in your CommCell environment to access Internet resources through an HTTP proxy server.

Hi together,in oine of our project we have the need to execute Exchange Single Item Recovery on a regular base. Due to this requirement we have to create a recovery point … but this takes very long (1 hour+).Is there any possibility to create a recovery immediately after the backup … or scheduled. Just to be prepared for the next single item restore?Thank you.Michael 

Is it no longer necessary to create Exchange Recovery Points for Exchange Online or might this be a bug?

The downloader is only providing the version for 11.30.I would appreciate it if someone could assist me in obtaining the correct downloader for version 11.36.Additionally, I believe there may be an error in the documentation regarding the Outlook add-in version. It's possible that the shared version is outdated. I recommend the Commvault team verify the accuracy of the documentation to ensure it aligns with the latest version of the Outlook add-in.

I see below mentioned in storage utilization report Total Used SpaceTotal Data WrittenTotal Application SizeConsidering Total Application Size is Front End data , what is the difference between Total Used Spaceand Total Data Written , tried to find it in documentation but not able to .Why total used space is almost 50% higher than total data written ? 

We are archive exchange email using commvault,, now we want to restore the email,, is  it possible if we restore the email to another email account ? Let’s say account A archived then the email restored to Account B..
